Interview: Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell And Sean Anders Talk Daddy's Home From The Set

15 June 2016 9:30 AM, PDT | Twitch | See recent Twitch news »

In Sean Anders’ comedy hit Daddy’s Home, Will Ferrell plays Brad, a middle-aged man who is very much in love with his wife (Linda Cardellini) and with the notion of being a responsible family man. He has everything - a good job, a house, a van for the family-, however there’s a small problem: he is not the biological father of his wife’s two kids and, though he tries really hard, the children don’t really care for him (there’s a reason why he appears death or injured in every drawing the daughter makes). Another problem is the fact that the biological dad Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) returns and becomes the uncomfortable guest of the house; aside of being a suave, handsome dude who is admired by...

2016 Emmy Contenders: Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama

7 June 2016 2:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Voters love Crazy Eyes; Uzo Aduba has landed  two consecutive Emmys (in 2014 she was submitted in the guest actor category) including last year’s supporting actress win. She could well repeat this year, but faces some serious competition from previous nominees.

Expect to see “Game of Thrones” ladies Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey return; both are coming off a strong season. A previous nominee for “ER,” Maura Tierney is fresh off a Golden Globe win for “The Affair” and could break in to the Emmy race this year.

With “Downton Abbey” having wrapped, it’s likely previous winner Maggie Smith and previous nominee Joanne Froggatt will break into the category. Also bidding farewell was “The Good Wife,” for which Christine Baranski has amassed six nominations.

There’s also some new blood to consider. Prior to Aduba, the category was won in 2012-13 by Anna Gunn for “Breaking Bad.” That show’s spinoff, »

Sorry folks, it looks like we’ll never get a ‘Freaks and Geeks’ revival series [Exclusive]

5 June 2016 4:44 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Freaks and Geeks actor Martin Starr confirms that a reunion series is unlikely.

Earlier this week we caught up with American actor Martin Starr, who can currently be seen playing Gilfoyle in HBO’s Silicon Valley. However, much like James FrancoSeth Rogen and Jason Segal, Starr started his career in the brilliant Us teen series Freaks and Geeks. The show, set in the 1980’s, followed the teenage drama of Linda Cardellini‘s Lindsay Weir, a mathlete who decides to rebel and starts hanging out with a group of ‘burnouts’.

Sadly the show only ran for one season but struck a chord with a generation, and along with shows like Firefly, often appears in lists of ‘shows cancelled too soon’ or ‘shows that we want back’. Given that platforms such as Netflix seem to be open to the idea of reviving beloved series’ (they are currently bringing Gilmore Girls back »

Bloodline Season 2 Review

26 May 2016 11:43 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Eight episodes were provided prior to broadcast

It was clear from the very first episode of season 1, through a series of flash-forwards that revealed his tragic fate at the bottom of the ocean (which we later learn was the result of fratricide at the hands of his brother John, played by Kyle Chandler), that the arc of Danny Rayburn was to be limited to just the one season. He was the driving force of Bloodline, the character whose appearance at the Rayburns’ idyllic Florida Keys home set in motion a chain of events that would gradually expose the façade of that family’s harmonious public image. Portrayed by the brilliant Ben Mendelsohn, he was the one genuinely rounded character of the ensemble, and the one whose charisma and pathos was the only element of an otherwise fairly prosaic show that lived up to its prestige TV aspirations.

‘Bloodline’ Season 2 ‘Starts and It Doesn’t Let Up,’ Sissy Spacek Says at Premiere

25 May 2016 3:54 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The sophomore season of the dark family drama “Bloodline,” premiering Friday on Netflix, will hit the ground running, according to star Sissy Spacek. “This season starts and it doesn’t let up. It moves fast,” Spacek told Variety on Tuesday at the season two premiere at the Landmark Regent in Los Angeles.

The drama, created by Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman, follows the troubled, dysfunctional Rayburn family as they struggle to face the demons of their past following the death of their brother/son Danny. The wild events of season one fracture the Rayburns’ once tight-knit family dynamic, leaving the siblings at odds with each other in season two.

“The remaining siblings are trying to deal with what’s happened,” Linda Cardellini, who stars as Meg Rayburn, said of the second season. “They’re in survival mode.”

Kyle Chandler, starring as detective John Rayburn, commended the series’ “fly on the wall aspect, »

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are returning for Daddy's Home 2...

Whilst Star Wars: The Force Awakens was taking lots of money last Christmas, so another movie was quietly mopping up a few quid of its own. Daddy’s Home, starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell in the lead roles, earned $240m worldwide pretty much without anyone noticing. Well, scrub that: Paramount Pictures noticed, and it’s ordering a sequel.

Daddy’s Home 2 will see both Wahlberg and Ferrell return in the lead roles, with Sean Anders and John Morris back to pen the screenplay. Furthermore, Sean Anders is directing again as well.

It’s unclear as of yet whether Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church and Hannibal Buress will be returning too. But the chances of that, we suggest, are quite high.

Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg Making 'Daddy's Home' Sequel

22 April 2016 2:00 PM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg just can't quit each other.

Deadline reports that the two stars are reuniting once again on the big screen, this time to make a sequel to their 2015 comedy "Daddy's Home." They previously starred together in 2010's "The Other Guys."

"Daddy's Home" earned $240 million worldwide, a pretty take for a non-action-filled comedy. Ferrell and Walhberg will reprise their roles as the stepfather and father, respectively, to Linda Cardellini's two children (it's unclear if the actress has signed on for the sequel). In the original, they engaged in petty rivalry over the kids' affections.

The ending was left somewhat open, after (Spoilers Ahead) Wahlberg's character, Dusty, marries a woman with a daughter. And just like Ferrell's stepdad, Brad, was intimidated by Dusty, so Dusty is intimidated by his wife's ex (John Cena). It's likely the sequel will revolve around the new dad in the blended family picture. »
