Second Opinion – Daddy’s Home 2 (2017)

Daddy’s Home 2, 2017.

Directed by Sean Anders

Starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, Linda Cardellini, Alessandra Ambrosio and John Cena

Synopsis:

Since we last saw them in Daddy’s Home, warring dads Dusty and Brad have learned to live with being co-parents and are unlikely – but best – buddies. When they decide the entire family should spend Christmas under one roof – and that includes their respective fathers – the question is which roof. Until one of the grandfathers books a log cabin big enough for all of them ……

‘Tis the season for a sequel. Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Enough of the approaching seasonal jollity. It’s only November. And, on the evidence of Daddy’s Home 2, we’ve had enough of sequels already. Ok, Paddington 2 is, admittedly, a joy, but A Bad Moms Christmas is anything but and Wahlberg and Ferrell’s latest

‘Daddy’s Home 2’ Review: Mel Gibson Proves to Be One Daddy Too Many in Queasy Holiday Comedy
Daddy’s Home 2” isn’t sorry. It doesn’t care about your stupid feelings. Don’t remember what happened at the end of the last movie, or which home belongs to which daddy? Too bad. Don’t want your festive family comedies to star Mel Gibson as a serial womanizer with a flair for violence? Well, “The Man Who Invented Christmas” isn’t out until next week, so you’re shit out of luck. Don’t understand how Will Ferrell could re-team with Mark Wahlberg when a sequel to “Step Brothers” is possibly the only thing that could pull civilization back from the brink? Get in line.

A follow-up to one of Sofia Coppola’s favorite movies of all time, “Daddy’s Home 2” literally ends with its characters snowbound in a multiplex and forced to watch some limp Hollywood garbage because they don’t have anything better to do. In a better world,

Movie Review – Daddy’s Home 2 (2017)

Daddy’s Home 2, 2017.

Directed by Sean Anders.

Starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, John Cena, Linda Cardellini, Alessandra Ambrosio, Owen Vaccaro, Scarlett Estevez, Didi Costine, and Oscar Wahlberg

Synopsis:

Brad and Dusty must deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays.

The greatest strength of the Daddy’s Home series continues to be on-the-nose casting. Released in 2015, the first dysfunctional family comedy made use of the excellent comedic Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedic pairing (a duo that were absolutely electric in The Other Guys), so it’s only fitting that director and co-writer Sean Anders (returning for the sequel and also known for Horrible Bosses) have found grandfather components containing that same hysterical chemistry by way of drastically opposing personalities.

Starting with Mel Gibson as Kurt, father to Mark Wahlberg’s Dusty, it’s important to note that he isn’t exactly a carbon copy. Sure,

Daddy’S Home 2 – Review

The holiday movie season is in full swing this weekend with a yuletime-set sequel to a recent raucous comedy…again. Yes, it was barely ten days ago when a really early cinema gift arrived at the multiplex, Bad Moms Christmas. Well there are a couple of differences, this new flick is a follow-up to a 2015 release rather than the more recent, just over a year old Bad Moms. Plus the matriarchs’ antics are a tad more adult-themed, since both films garnered much-deserved “R” ratings for raunch. The new arrival is the more “family friendly” PG-13 (it might be even more wholesome than the first one, since there’s less talk of fertility). However both recent installment deal with the chaos and conflict initiated by the visit of the grandparents (Moms had one grandpop’ while this one doesn’t have a granny’ till the last moments). So, put those shopping lists

Third & Hopefully Final Trailer for Comedy Sequel 'Daddy's Home 2'

"We're back, with more daddies." Paramount has unwrapped one more trailer for comedy sequel Daddy's Home 2, from director Sean Anders. This is hopefully the final trailer for this movie, because I want to move on and forget about it as soon as possible. Daddy's Home 2 brings back stars Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, and Linda Cardellini, and introduces the fathers of the fathers, including John Lithgow and Mel Gibson, with an appearance by John Cena. I don't know who actually wanted a sequel to Daddy's Home, and while I'm sure many will say they did, I don't recall the first movie getting so much acclaim that this was necessary. But that's me, not my kind of funny. It looks like an awful Christmas Vacation wannabe. Here's the third trailer (+ poster) for Sean Anders' sequel Daddy's Home 2, direct from YouTube: You can still watch the first official trailer for Daddy's Home 2 here,
