Has one son with Burt Bacharach.

She and then-husband Burt Bacharach wrote the song "On My Own," about a failed romance. It was recorded by Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald and reached the Top 20 in 1986. Their marriage lasted a few years longer.

Was the stepmother of the late Nikki Bacharach.

Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987.

She was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
