Two female roommates share a bed and some kisses on "The Real World: Cancun"

8 July 2009 2:00 PM, PDT | From AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news

I used to be a huge fan of The Real World, and watched every season, no matter where it was being filmed. However, now that it's in it's 22nd "cycle" (as Tyra Banks would call it), I have to say that I am out of touch with what is going on in The Real World right now. And by "real," I mean the bizarre reality TV fish bowl that the rotating castmates all live in.

The latest set of seven strangers live in Cancun, and they just met, as tonight is only the third episode. Already, though, the housemates are getting close, including Ayiiia and Emilee, who appear to love one another as much as they love extra vowels in their names.

Take a look at tonight's preview:

I'm not completely sure, but it does appear that alcohol played a role in this.

From what I can tell, 22-year-old Hooters

The stylish women of the "Bet Awards"

29 June 2009 12:30 PM, PDT | From AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news

Whether or not you thought the last-minute Michael Jackson tribute was fitting or a failure, or you loved Beyonce in couture or found it completely ridiculous, there's no arguing that last night's Bet Awards played host to many beautiful women.

Several of those who attended were winners (Best Actress: Taraji Henson; Female Athlete of the Year: Serena Williams; Best New Artist: Keri Hilson; Best Female Hip-Hop Artist: M.I.A.; Video of the Year and Best Female R'n'b Artist: Beyonce) and others just showed up in support of their peers.

Taraji Henson with Lil' Wayne

The fashion was some of the best I've seen at an awards show this year, especially because the women were not afraid to wear something other than the typical dress and heel. Here's a look at some of the styling females that were in attendance:

Michael Jackson at the movies…

27 June 2009 11:21 PM, PDT | From SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news

Yes, he was the punchline of approximately a quarter-million Tonight Show jokes. But Michael Jackson's stop-on-a-dime dance moves and sensual soprano have influenced generations of musicians, dancers and entertainers, and the man was so much more than what the tabloids made him out to be. One of entertainment's greatest icons, he was incredibly gifted, and like most gifted individuals he was an equally troubled genius who kept us captivated at his most dazzling, and at his most appalling moments. The New York Times once described him as one of the six most famous people on the planet. I'd like to up the ante:  he was the most famous person on the planet. He influenced artists ranging from Justin Timberlake to Madonna, and genres from rock to pop to R&B to even rap. No other artist has been as unifying. Jackson also helped elevate the music video, turning it

The NBA Draft’s Big Question: Which New Star Will Try A Rap Career?

25 June 2009 9:49 AM, PDT | From MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news

Tonight’s NBA Draft will make a handful of young men into instant millionaires and household names in their new teams’ cities. The basketball contract is merely the beginning, as there will be endorsement deals, commercial acting, clothing lines and — if they’re especially ambitious — an attempted rap career. The NBA is littered on all sides with players who dabbled in the hip-hop game, but the ratio of attempts to success is way off-kilter. Save for the platinum status of Shaquille O’Neal’s Shaq Diesel, most of attempts at rap have ended in sadness. To wit:

» Kobe Bryant: He just won his fourth championship and is a former Mvp, but his rhyming skills left a lot to be desired. He cut one track called “K.O.B.E.” that featured Tyra Banks and that he performed on NBA TV and dropped in on a few cuts with 50 Cent

Banks' Stalker Gets Probation And Classes

18 June 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Tyra Banks' stalker has been spared jail and ordered to undertake classes aimed at those with relationship problems.

Brady Green, 38, was convicted of stalking, harassment, criminal trespass and attempted aggravated harassment in April - a month after he was arrested in the vicinity of the New York studio where the former supermodel films her daily The Tyra Banks Show.

He was accused of sending 35-year-old Banks flowers, packages and notes, and threatening her assistant when she refused to reveal the star's address.

On Thursday, a Manhattan, New York judge sentenced Green to one year's probation and ruled he must complete a course entitled Project Sharp (Stopping Harassment and Relationship Problems) at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

He must also refrain from contacting Banks for at least two years.

If he fails to attend all classes or stay away from Banks, who testified in court against him, Green will be jailed for 90 days.

A school for stalkers? Who knew? A New York Judge today sentenced the Georgia man found guilty of stalking Tyra Banks to one year of probation. In addition, 39-year-old Brady Green was ordered to avoid any contact with the supermodel for two years and to enroll in an antistalking course. Clad in a natty brown suit, Green appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court accompanied by his attorney. Neither addressed reporters after the hearing was over. During the trial, Banks testified she was terrified after Green repeatedly turned up at both the Los Angeles and New York studios for The Tyra Banks Show in 2008. In one instance, he tried to push past security, claiming he "had a thing" with her. Banks was...

Kanye West's Yearbook Photo

Photo: Yearbook Library

The yearbook photo is the most important pictures a teenager takes. (Some teen stars whose less-formal pics have leaked to the Web might disagree.) More so than any snapshot tagged on Facebook, or even that lovely pic taken at the Dmv, the yearbook portrait is the picture that will define your high school experience for decades to come, whether you like it or not.

It is not surprising, then, that celebrities' yearbook photos have always been a pop-culture curiosity. Learning that Brad Pitt was a skinny dweeb in high school, for example, makes other skinny dweebs feel like they could turn into the Sexiest Man Alive, earn a zillion dollars, marry a hot lady and adopt half of Africa too!

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner Interviewed By Tyra Banks

16 June 2009 9:44 AM, PDT | From OnTheFlix | See recent OnTheFlix news

We managed to scrape up another "Twilight Saga" video interview. In this one, it shows an indepth "Twilight" interview from "Twilight" and "New Moon" stars, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner back on November 28,2008 when "Twilight" first came out. This is a pretty neat video. She first introduces them, and when they walk on to the set, the crowd roars. She talked to Robert about how some of his fans want him to bite them. Then Tyra asks him to bite her on her neck, and he does. It was hilarious. Then she says, "That felt good too".She told Taylor that he has gorgeous teeth. He replied, "Would you like them to bite you."

Why Are the Most Creative People in Business Skipping Out on Web 2.0?

27 May 2009 2:00 PM, PDT | From Fast Company | See recent Fast Company news

digg_url = 'http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/dan-macsai/popwise/100-mcp-why-they-do-and-dont-share-themselves-internet'; digg_skin = 'compact'; These days, we're all public figures. We're sharing our friends on Facebook, our photos on Flickr, our music on Last.fm, and our goofy links insightful observations on Twitter.

So when Fast Company set out to capture the personalities of our 100 Most Creative People in Business, we started--where else?--by looking for online profiles. Melinda Gates (#2), for example, has more than 50 Google News hits. J.J. Abrams (#14), Tyler Perry (#21), and Pharrell Williams (#36) all have lengthy Wikipedia entries and flashy professional Web sites. And searching Tyra Banks (#49) on YouTube spawns 21,000 video clips (and several cheap laughs).

But when it comes to sharing themselves--not just their businesses, but their business--our creative class clams up. Only 33 have Twitter accounts. Just 19 maintain personal blogs. And four have Flickr pages. In fact, when we emailed bicycle designer Larry Chen (#89) for a link to his blog or photo account,

Holmes promptly left.
