Now that I've gathered all my tweets about The Voice, loaded them into a cannon, and fired them at joyless time-waster Christina Milian, let's criticize Teams Cee-Lo and Adam Levine like the withering warblers they are. We suffered two instant eliminations tonight (and I'll name those below), and I'd only give the best performance of the night a B+. Harsh, I know. Onward!
Team Cee-Lo
Jamar Rogers: Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life”
Man, 1998-9 was all about comfortable, inoffensive pop rock, wasn't it? Everything from Vertical Horizon to Natalie Imbruglia was moody, gray-sky pop, and Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" sticks out for me as a sprawling cirrus cloud from that era. As such, Jamar Rogers' adequate vocal served the song well, but that's like saying he came prepared with an umbrella for a light drizzle. He handled the job, but the job was a »

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air alumna Tatyana Ali is set as a regular on Bet’s upcoming comedy series Second Generation Wayans, based on the lives of the members of the next generation of the Wayans family. It stars Craig Wayans, Damien Dante Wayans, and George O. Gore II. Ali will play Maya, Damien’s quick-witted personal assistant who struggles to keep the guys in line. She most recently starred in the Martin Lawrence-produced sitcom Love That Girl for TV One and recurred on The Young And The Restless and will next be seen starring in the indie Home Again. Australian musician-actor-comedian Tim Minchin has landed a major recurring role on the next season of Showtime’s dark comedy series Californication. Have you noticed yourself fast-forwarding through Adam Levine's critiques on The Voice and waiting patiently for Christina Aguilera to speak? Have you noticed that's an absolutely insane scenario? Because I'm doing it too. And I'm scared.
Christina Aguilera has become the show's least sympathetic and/or sentimental panelist. She's thoroughly genuine, and even if she doesn't reach the caliber of my favorite 10 reality judges, she's exactly what The Voice needs: unflinching truth-telling. I hope she keeps it up in the weeks to come. Not just because it's entertaining (How about when she smacked Down her former Mousketeer buddy Tony Lucca?), but because it heightens the show's stakes. Fear this dirrty, caterwauling diva, contestants.
The Voice's second week of live rounds proved to be a mixed bag ranging from towering renditions of rock classics to meek attempts at dated pop songs. Let's invade and grade 'em all.

Are President Obama, President Medvedev, and the younger sister from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air all plotting to destroy America in Obama's second term? Probably not but, y'know maybe? That might be the takeaway from this Fox News segment on a mysterious video that the White House removed from the Barack Obama's official site. In the video, Tatyana Ali, who played Will Smith's fictional cousin on television's most groundbreaking view of 1990s class warfare, claims that, were Obama to get a second term, it would be "on." »

Funny man Alphonso McAuley never considered being an actor until he discovered improvisation in a high school drama class. His teacher said, "Say anything off the top of your head and make it into a scene for the class." He tried it and made his entire class laugh hysterically. From there on, he was hooked. Now the actor is making audiences laugh on two television comedies. He plays quirky prankster tech geek Cassius "Cash" Sparks on Fox's "Breaking In," and Tatyana Ali's brother Latrell in "Love That Girl" on TV One. McAuley talks to Back Stage about simultaneous shoots, taking risks, and happy premonitions. Back Stage: You booked "Love That Girl" and "Breaking In" in the same year. How did that happen and how did the timing work out with shooting?Alphonso McAuley: At the end of 2009, I was going hard with stand up comedy, and I took this class. »

The Academy Award celebrating begins long before the actual awards ceremony on Sunday night (Feb. 26). Earlier in the week, the stars came out for the 5th annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
"The Help" star (and Oscar nominee) Viola Davis was looking chic in white, and showing off some sassy short locks. Jordin Sparks was also looking lovely, as were Tatyana Ali and Jurnee Smollett (we hope to see that "Friday Night Lights" alum back on TV soon).
Among the honorees of this year's luncheon were actresses Kerry Washington, Paula Patton, Oscar-nominee Octavia Spencer and Pam Grier, along with "Grey's Anatomy" creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes.

More than 60 Black celebrities – including Samuel L. Jackson, Laila Ali, Tatyana Ali, Anthony Anderson, Bill Duke, Dennis Haysbert, Nia Long, Chris Massey, Kyle Massey, Lisa Masterson and Shaun Robinson – have united with Greater Than AIDS to bring attention to the severe and disproportionate epidemic facing Black Americans and reduce the stigma surrounding the disease.
Black Americans account for half of the approximately 1.1 million people living with HIV/AIDS in this country today — and 44 percent of new infections — while representing just 12 percent of the population. Blacks are also more likely to die of AIDS as compared to other racial and ethnic groups.
Coinciding with National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (Feb. 7), Greater Than AIDS is debuting new public service ads (PSAs), available here, coordinated social media posts and other messages from popular Black television and film actors, directors, producers, and others in Hollywood about the devastating effect of HIV/AIDS in the Black community. »
