More than four decades after the original movie hit theaters, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is coming back — to TV.
The cast of Fox’s remake — which includes “Rocky Horror” vet Tim Curry as the narrator this time around — joined together on Monday at the Television Critics Association press tour at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif., to discuss paying homage to the original.
“Be true to the original, but make it contemporary” is the mantra set by executive producer Lou Adler.
The cast all agreed that their new “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is not a direct remake of the original, but rather a celebration of the iconic flick.

“Prison Break” and “24: Legacy” will make their revamped Comic-Con debuts this summer.
The two hotly-anticipated series are part of 20th Century Fox Television’s lineup at the annual summer mega-fest. The studio announced their entire Comic-Con programming slate on Monday, which includes events for 13 shows.
“Son of Zorn,” Jason Sudeikis’ animated-hybrid comedy, will make its Con debut. The full cast and crew of “Bones” will gather one final time at the convention, before the series signs off. 20th is also sending the teams behind animated favorites “American Dad,” “Bob’s Burgers,” “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy,” plus “Scream Queens,” “Last Man on Earth” and “Salem.” As for new projects premiering in 2016-2017, the studio is sending “The Exorcist” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” to Comic-Con.

Last year, Fox announced that it was bringing a cult classic back to life with The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which is being re-imagined for a new audience. Last week, we got our first look at the new Dr. Frank-n-Furter, played by Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox.
