British heartthrob Robert Pattinson has been named the hottest male movie vampire of all time, trumping big screen bloodsuckers Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas and Tom Cruise.

The 22-year-old star is poised to set teenage girls' hearts a flutter in the soon-to-be-released adaptation of hit novel Twilight.

And Pattinson is already movie fans' favourite vampire - before he has even sunk his teeth in a victim on the big screen.

He has topped a Moviefone poll to find the best batty biter.

From Dusk Til Dawn star Salma Hayek topped the female poll, ahead of Kate Beckinsale, who slipped on fangs for the Underworld movies.

What's a Vamp to do???

She has played the victim.  Her chest has heaved mightily in resisting the vampire’s charms.  She has been sucked dry.  And now she’s getting a little peckish.  In films like the Blade (1998, 2002, 2004) trinity, Underworld’s I & II (2003, 2006), Queen of the Damned (2002), The Lair of the White Worm (1988)(—with Hugh Grant!), Once Bitten (1985)(—with Jim Carrey!), and the all the Dracula’s with their three tempting Fates, what is a hungry lady Vamp to do?  Whatever she wants, to start.

She is free now in some ways, broken from any veiled obligations to continue the cycle of life through motherhood and its evolutionarily-encouraged monogamy (hey, baby daddies are needed to help gather the intense nutritional requirements of childbearing and breastfeeding), free to pursue whatever it is she wants—not whatever it is she needs to nurture.  Even Blade’s mother is yearning for some incest, which is creepy, but »

Producer wants 'Wonder Woman' origin film

Producer Joel Silver has revealed that he wants the new Wonder Woman film to be a "genesis" story.

Silver, known for producing high-octane action films such as The Matrix, Lethal Weapon and the upcoming Speed Racer, admitted he had changed his mind about which direction to take the film.

"I thought for a while that I didn't want to do a genesis story of Wonder Woman," Silver told Sci Fi Wire.

The producer added that he found the character's back story "goofy" but was determined to find a way to make it work.
