13 hours ago | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

R. Balki's films have always been given unique titles. Whether it was his directorial debut Cheeni Kum or his most recent film Shamitabh, each time he announces the title of his film there is an immediate curiosity and a myriad questions to their meaning relevance and validity. But even by his known track record of unexpected titles Balki's next directorial venture's title will take your breath away. The director has named his next film Ki And Ka. Now before everyone asks what it means, here's the director Balki himself with the explanation. "Ki And Ka ...that's the short form for Ladki And Ladka." The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as a working wife and Arjun Kapoor as a house husband. Hence the title on the gender difference. Says Balki, "Ki And Ka exist only in Hindi. Kareena Kapoor Khan to play man of the house in R Balkis film

27 July 2015 4:48 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

In R. Balki's film, Kareena Kapoor Khan wears the pants. And Arjun Kapoor ...well, he just hangs around the house drying her pants. In the film, about gender reversal of stereotypical roles, Balki turns Kareena Kapoor Khan into a bread earner while Arjun Kapoor is the house-husband. For her role, Kareena is all set to prepare with a completely different look from the one she sports these days. Says a source, "In Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjabi which she wraps up this week, Kareena is completely Indian, Punjabi to be more specific…salwar-kameez, jet-black hair, kohl-laden eyes, and loud prints. She goes for a complete 360-degree turn in her appearance for Balki's film. It will be a metro-centric character, no hint of Indian clothes Kareena will be dressed in chic subtle executive suites, as she plays a hotshot head-honcho of a corporate company." Manish Malhotra will do all of »

I am annoyed arrey script toh achchi honi chahiye - Kareena Kapoor Khan on walking out of Section 84

25 July 2015 7:47 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Kareena Kapoor Khan is annoyed, in fact super annoyed. Reason being that those unknown to her seem to know a lot more about the films that she is rejecting, the reasons behind that as well as the advice they are happy to give away freely about the career choices that she must be making. This, when they haven't gone through the scripts coming her way, the treatment a director has in mind to offer to a film, and the criteria that she has set for the movies that she wants to be a part of henceforth. No wonder, with the whole brouhaha around Section 84 and Kareena Kapoor Khan politely saying no to proceeding with the film, the lady is hardly left amused with her exit continuing to make news. "Arrey I don't understand why are people talking about it so much. They don't even know anything about the character. »

R Balkis next to feature Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan

24 July 2015 11:52 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Amitabh Bachchan's last release that was directed by R. Balki didn't quite make the cut at the box office. However, despite the film's low key response, we hear that Bachchan will soon be seen working with the director again for their fourth collaboration after Cheeni Kum, Paa and Shamitabh.

While we know that Bahchcan will be teaming up with Balki, the interesting part is that joining them will be none other than Jaya Bachchan who were last seen sharing screen space in the 2012 Bhojpuri film Ganga Devi that was produced by their make-up man, Deepak Savant. However, for those of you who think it will be yet another Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, we hear that their roles will be restricted to a cameo that will be wrapped in a two day shoot. If that wasn't enough, we hear that the two actors will be seen playing themselves, a superstar power couple. »

Much has been written about Kareena Kapoor's walk-out from Rajkumar Gupta's new film Section 84. But the real reason is yet to come out.

While sources close to the project say Kareena demanded too many changes, Kareena has another story to tell.

Says the actress, "From the very beginning I made it clear that I was not happy with several things in the script. The director promised to come back with the changes. However, I was still not convinced about the script even after he made the changes. So I thought it was better to opt out. I was patient. I gave the script several chances. But it didn't work for me."

Says the actress, "At this stage of my career I don't want to do any film that I'm not sure of."

Respect film critics if you have invited them!

Kabir Khan created a brilliant climax scene for Bajrangi Bhaijaan. People from India and Pakistan converged on both sides in an attempt to set Pavan Kumar Chaturvedi free. Now, Pavan had completed a noble task of ensuring Munni was safe back with her parents and citizens from both countries were pushing for justice.

At Fun Republic in Versova, Andheri, in Mumbai, a similar scene was being enacted before the Press Show.

Apparently, there was a movie contest where winners were being given their free tickets. The film critics and assorted media was there too, on invitation. However, one had to push through the crowd to get to the front only to be told by the usher that we would have to enter with the tickets.

Fair enough!

But where were the tickets and the hosts? Obviously, since they had not planned themselves, »

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was originally going to star Hrithik Roshan

18 July 2015 1:58 PM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Yesterday saw the release of one of the most highly anticipated films of this year, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. This film starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor has received positive reviews all across and is been loved by the audiences too. Director Kabir Khan in his interviews whole-heartedly praised the writer of the film V. Vijayendra Prasad for giving him the story of the film, which is being praised for its uniqueness. However, one interesting factoid that has come up is that the film was originally going to be made by the Roshans. According to some sources, around three years ago, V. Vijayendra Prasad had narrated Bajrangi Bhaijaan to Rakesh Roshan. Roshan apparently loved the film so much that he decided to direct the film casting Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. In fact Rakesh even worked on the script with Prasad. However, there was one hitch that came up in the process. »

Bajrangi Bhaijaan review: Salman Khan wins hearts all over again

Director: Kabir Khan Screenwriter: Kabir Khan, Kausar Munir, Starring: Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Harshaali Malhotra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Om Puri, Running time: 159 mins Certificate: U12A

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is not your usual Salman Khan film. It's way better.

Khan sheds his Dabangg persona to reveal his softer side in a human story that will melt your heart, while conveying a simple message of humanity and compassion for your fellow man.

Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, (Salman Khan) is a hapless fellow; an ardent devotee of the Hindu God Hanuman, with a heart of gold. He stumbles on a mute child Munni (Harshali Malhotra) who after becoming separated from her mother lands up in India and attaches herself to Pawan. While her inopportune arrival in his life causes him untold troubles, he sets his heart on reuniting her with her parents. The revelation that she is in fact from Pakistan and without a passport »

Unlike his recent films, there are no bhaari dialogues like 'Ek baar maine commitment kar di, to main apni bhi nahin sunta' or 'Main dil mein aata hoon, samjh mein nahin' in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. However, the film does have some decent dialogues which stay with you. So here's presenting 8 such dialogues from the film.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan Movie Review

17 July 2015 8:00 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Almost every Bollywood junkie knows what to expect when they walk in to a cinema hall to watch a film starring none other than Mr. Salman Khan. Most of his releases during the course of the last five years have been films which have mind-numbing storylines; sexy, yet useless heroines with not much to do; as well as action/violent scenes written specifically to glamorize Salman’s much-talked about body and abs. However, to my immense surprise; Bajrangi Bhaijaan has none of these features and it is ultimately a poignant story about the relationship between a noble Indian man, who is determined to return a six-year-old girl to her parents across the border in Pakistan.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a film which looks at the relations between India and Pakistan from a more humane angle, as opposed to political. This film is not about the heated political relations between the two »
