15 hours ago | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Reports that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan will be playing Deepika Padukone's husband in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Rani Padmavati seem to be someone's figment of the imagination. According to sources very close Bhansali, "Fawad was never even considered, let alone offered, Rani Padmavati. He was briefly considered for another project that Sanjay Bhansali was to produce, though not direct. As for Rani Padmavati two of the three principal cast members have already been locked in. The third is yet to be firmed in. It will be done in the next week." While Deepika Padukone will be playing the title role, Ranveer Singh will be cast as the invader Alauddin Khilji who took a fancy to the Rani. Interestingly Ranveer and Deepika, said to be a couple in real life, do not meet in Bhansali's film. The trailer of the much awaited film Mohenjo Daro, starring Bollywood Megastar Hrithik Roshan, was released recently and opened to rave reviews. It enthralled the audiences with magnificence of the Indus Valley civilisation.

The film is set in 2016 BC in the ancient city of Mohenjo-daro in the era of the Indus Valley civilization. Here are a few things about the great Indus Valley civilization which flourished on this planet.

The City of Mohenjo Daro

The words ‘Mohenjo Daro’ literally translate to ‘the mound of the dead’ in Sindhi. The historical city’s original name is not Mohenjo Daro. Nobody knows what the real name is, as the Harrappan scripture has still not been deciphered!

This ancient city was discovered in 1922

When a few Indus Valley sites and cities like Harappa and Lothal were excavated in 1922, the city of Mohenjo-daro was also among them, and that is when the name came to be. »

The Music Of ‘Mohenjo Daro’ Celebrates The Grandeur Of That Era

28 July 2016 12:00 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

The partnership of filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker and award-winning music composer A. R. Rahman has given us some splendid music in the past. Add to that, the soul-stirring lyrics of Javed Akhtar and you know that the outcome is a winner. The album of Mohenjo Daro can easily be listed as one of the best works by the music maestro of late. Though there is no written record of any sounds of that era, A R Rahman has done a wonderful job recreating the feel of the period.

The Mohenjo Daro music album begins with the title track, Mohenjo Mohenjo which is an apt start to such a grand, epic romance. Led by Arijit Singh, the song boasts of a range of singers like Bela Shende, Sanah Moidutty and A R Rahman himself. The amazing African influences to the music is what sets it apart.

Rs 550 crores for Hrithik Rs 1000 crores for Salman are grossly exaggerated figures say sources from Star

25 July 2016 3:05 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Who is spreading these staggeringly fattened figures as fee for Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan for the satellite rights of their forthcoming films? While Hrithik has supposedly been paid Rs. 550 crores for a 5 -film deal, Salman Khan has reportedly snagged a whopping Rs. 1,000 crores deal for 10 films. Both the incredible deals are said to have been done with the Star Network. However sources close to the development completely dismiss these figures as "wildly exaggerated". Says a well-informed source, "We don't know who is leaking out these false numbers. They are unrealistic to the point of being preposterous. The stars themselves are certainly not responsible for spreading these unbelievable numbers, as such inflated figures makes them look delusional. These are figures being sneaked in by people who are certain they can get away with it. But anyone with even a basic knowledge of the financial reality of the entertainment world would »

It’s difficult to style for period films” says ‘Mohenjo Daro’ designer Neeta Lulla

22 July 2016 9:00 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

While making period films like Mohenjo Daro, small details such as the sets and costume designing plays a pivotal role. Ace designer Neeta Lulla says “One has to be careful while styling for period films as one has to strike the right balance between the genuineness of that era and the latest fashion trends. The script and research material was given to us. We had to work accordingly on the costumes. It’s an epic film and we had to create a world and vision that the director wanted. The most challenging part is that there is no visual reference available from that era. We had to keep in mind that the costume should look like it’s from that era and also keep in mind today’s audience as they are going to watch the film.”

The designer, who has teamed up with director Ashutosh Gowariker for his Hrithik Roshan-starrer Mohenjo Daro, »
