'Doctors' actor Owen Brenman to direct more episodes
Doctors star Owen Brenman is to direct three more episodes of the soap, Digital Spy can reveal. The actor, who plays Heston Carter, will return to the director's chair in the New Year following the BBC One daytime show's Christmas production break. Brenman has previously directed for Doctors on two separate occasions, taking the helm of three episodes which aired in March 2011 and a further three which were broadcast earlier this year. Details of Brenman's latest episodes will be revealed closer to transmission, but show bosses have promised that they will be "dramatic". (more)

British Soap Awards 2012 Winners – Eastenders & Corrie Take 7 Wins

The winners of this years British Soap Awards 2012 have been announced. The ceremony held on Saturday night (28th April) was hosted by Phillip Schofield and the usual war between Eastenders and Coronation Street ended in a tie this year with both soaps taking home seven awards.

However, Eastenders got the biggest gong as it was named Best Soap again. Pam St Clement (Pat) was given the Lifetime Achievement Award and Eastenders writer Simon Ashdown got the Special Achievement Award.

The full list can be found below, the winners are highlighted red. The ceremony can be seen in full on ITV1 on Wednesday 2nd May.

Former 'Holby' star lands 'Doctors' role
Former Holby City star Mark Moraghan is to make a one-off appearance on BBC medical drama Doctors. The actor, best known for playing Holby General's Owen Davies between 2001 and 2005, will be seen in the role of Tony Mullen, a patient of Dr Heston Carter (Owen Brenman). In a forthcoming episode, Tony arrives at the Mill with wife Sandy (Julia Dalkin) and is told that their chances of having a baby are slim.
