Miranda Spigener graduated with honors from The National Radio Institute with a BFA in Film and Non-Fiction writing. Her thesis film True was released and screened by Scratch Projections at the L'Entrepot Cinema in Paris, France. Her first big project as director was the PBS TV pilot Eat Art that aired on PBS affiliates in: Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and Los Angeles. Since then she has worked on several projects from commercials, music videos and documentaries. Ms. Spigener's documentary Walk On about hippo-therapy aired 3 times from 1999-2000 on TLC (The Learning Channel. She also directed a poignant PSA commemorating Vietnam Veterans and promoting the University of Houston Vietnam Moving Wall Student Project that aired locally in Houston on the local ABC/CBS/NBC affiliates and Time Warner Cable. Miranda directed the music video Heaven Sweet for National Recording Artist Laurie Foxx and her film noir short Marisa Romanov went on to be part of the Official Selection of the International Venice Film Festival on Sept. 2001. Ms. Spigener frequently works with up and coming Italian Film Composer Fabrizio Castania (who won reviews for his scoring of Marisa Romanov).
Miranda holds a soft spot for live theatre and plans to launch an All-Star run of her hit play The Flame, TBA.
