Magical Drop V Review

20 November 2012 9:57 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

It’s always a gamble when you attempt to revive an old IP. There are thousands of reasons a franchise may have gone the way of the dodo, and it’s incredibly difficult to know for sure how the community as a whole would react. You could end up with a game like Fallout 3, which completely reinvents the game and introduces it to a multitude of fans who would never have been privy to that story otherwise, or you could have something closer to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, which ends up tarnishing the franchise for many gamers. Magical Drop V was surely made with the best of intentions in mind, but this is a franchise that was better off dead.

When Magical Drop was released to the masses in the 90s, it was considered one of the best puzzle games of the generation and was a driving factor in sales of the Neo Geo. »

Jamie Lidell to drop new album on February 19

15 November 2012 10:54 AM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Eclectic singer-songwriter Jamie Lidell is set to release his highly-anticipated new album on February 19 via Warp Records. His fifth full-length release, the self-titled album signals somewhat of a new direction for the artist, who freely mixes electronic blips and bleeps with more traditional rock and soul sounds. Lidell cites such disparate artists as Mtume, Cameo, Bobby Brown (and New Jack Swing,  in general) and George Clinton as inspirations for his latest.  “I referenced a lot of the analogue synth tones of the records I really love,” he says, “the question isn’t electronic music or not, it’s what are you trying to say with »

George Clinton -- Atomic Tax Lien

4 June 2012 4:00 AM, PDT | TMZ | See recent TMZ news »

George Clinton believes in one nation under a groove  ... he just doesn't wanna pay taxes to that nation ... at least according to a tax lien filed against the legendary singer. According to a federal tax lien ... George is delinquent for the years 2007 and 2008. Clinton owes $48,347.82 for 2007 and $67,204.45 for 2008 ... for a total of $115,552.27.If Clinton doesn't pay up soon, the government will tear the roof off the sucker -- or, as "the man" would say it, »

Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch remembered: Our favorite songs

4 May 2012 4:18 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

In the wake of the tragic passing of Beastie Boys Adam Yauch, we at Zap2it.com thought it only seemed appropriate to pass along some of our favorite memories of the Beastie Boys through the years.  Feel free to share your own in the comments below.

"Hold It Now, Hit It" wasn't the band's biggest hit, but the 1986 single from their first album -- and its video -- captures McA (Adam Yauch), Mike D (Michael Diamond) and Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) and their silly best before they got hip to slick video producers and grew up. The raw talent is there, even if it is hidden by a few layers of goofiness. And, hey, they're having fun and we're all for that. I love it because the Beastie Boys were my first concert. It was 1987 at the Capital Centre in Landover, Md., and because of our proximity to Washington, D. »

Zac Efron Takes His Bandaged Hand to Berlin

26 April 2012 1:42 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Zac Efron stepped out in a sophisticated George Clinton suit for the Berlin premiere of The Lucky One yesterday. He was joined by his costar Taylor Schilling, who walked the red carpet alongside him in a black Alaia dress. Zac also sported a bandage on his left hand. Zac injured his hand, and joked earlier this week that the wound was a result of being bitten by an overzealous fan. Zac and Taylor are already enjoying success with The Lucky One, which opened in the number two spot over the weekend, and have been making appearances at the film's many European premieres. Zac will soon wrap up this round of press duties, but he'll be back at it again later this year when his next movie The Paperboy hits theaters. View Slideshow › »

Hands-On Lollipop Chainsaw!

15 March 2012 10:01 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

First of all, if you're a regular DC reader, then you know who and what Lollipop Chainsaw is so I'ma skip all that and tell you about how I put my hands all over it at a private event during Gdc (Game Developers Conference).

The level we were shown began with Juliet and her headless man, Nick, riding sidecar on her dad's motorcycle speeding to a zombie-infested arcade in order to save Juliet's sister, Rosalind.

Everything starts out simple enough: bum rush the arcade, kill some zombs (who're Still obsessed with playing video games), save some dude, jump on the elevator, kill evil dude and rescue your sister. Yeah, Starts simple enough…then goes into batshit crazy.

As soon as the doors open, you're thrown into a game maze and have to collect 7 or 8 keys avoiding Massive creatures that look like Pac-Man and Chomps from Super Mario had a love child… »

Nick Groff Talks Ghost Adventures Part 3: Skeptics, What's Next and Fan Questions

12 March 2012 4:10 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Here we are at the final chapter of our in-depth interview with "Ghost Adventures" star Nick Groff. Thus far we've covered the crew's beginnings as well as Nick's greatest fears. Now it's time to check out his view on skeptics, what's next, and your questions.

"It doesn’t bother me whatsoever," says Groff of the myriad people trying to discredit or debunk what they do. "Everybody has their own mind to make up. At the end of the day I’m not here to be the one to try and convince everyone. You have to go out there and have your own personal experience. The key is to go out and experience it for yourself and try it with an open mind. You can’t be one-sided in this world. There are too many unexplainable things out there that have been happening for centuries and centuries. From people talking about »
