Just a few weeks after Syfy debuted the first chainsaw-weilding poster, along with the full title Sharknado 5: The Global Swarming, the network has unleashed yet another one-sheet for this highly-anticipated sequel. This latest poster showcases franchise stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, along with the return of original Sharknado star Cassie Scerbo, who's back as Nova Clarke, a bartender in the first movie who has transformed into a bad-ass Sharknado fighter. This poster also offers a glimpse at some of the world monuments that will be affected by this global Shark storm.

E! Online debuted this poster, which features the chainsaw-wielding Finn (Ian Ziering), the colorful April (Tara Reid) and the black-clad Nova (Cassie Scerbo) all in the eye of this Sharknado. Back in February it was announced that a fifth instalment in the Sharknado series was brewing at Syfy, and now the cable network has announced that Sharknado 5 will premiere on Sunday, August 6th.

Sharknado 5 will see the entire world coming under the threat of a global Sharknado, with filming having taken place in the UK, Australia and Bulgaria.

Sharknado goes global as Syfy and The Asylum start production on Sharknado 5

Syfy and The Asylum are taking Sharknado global, announcing today that filming is now underway on the fifth instalment of the cult franchise.

Sharknado 5 is once again directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, who has helmed all four of the previous instalments in the series, and will see the return of Ian Ziering and Tara Reid as Fin Shepard and April Wexler. Cassie Scerbo is also confirmed as returning in the role of Nova.

The new film will see the world coming under threat from a global Sharknado, taking in locations such as the UK and Australia. As always, expect a host of celebrity cameos to be announced in the coming months.

A fifth Sharknado film is on the way from The Asylum and SyFy. Sharknado 5 is set to kick off production in Bulgaria this week.

With much of North America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for a global sharknado. Fin Shepard (Ziering) and his family must put a stop to this disaster before Earth is obliterated.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who was the man at the helm of the first four films, is back to direct this latest installment, based on a script by Scotty Mullen.

According to Variety, the new film will take to international waters and shoot in five countries, including the U.K. and Australia.
