Christopher Gorham’s ‘We Love You, Sally Carmichael!’ Lands August Release

Independent comedy “We Love You, Sally Carmichael!” has been set for an Aug. 4 domestic release from Purdie Distribution, Variety has learned exclusively.

“Sally” is the feature directing debut for actor Christopher Gorham. It’s produced by Adam Abel through his production company Go Films and executive produced by Daryn Tufts and David Nibley of Flinch Films.

Gorham plays Simon Hayes, an author who is ashamed to have secretly written “Siren,” an incredibly popular series of young adult romance novels that chronicle the epic love story between a human girl and a merman under the pen name, Sally Carmichael.

After he takes a picture of a random young woman on the street, amateur photographer Hollis is shocked when she knocks on his apartment door and threatens his life. Urgently demanding that he and the photograph must leave town with her or she will have to kill him, Hollis reluctantly obliges. While on the run, she reveals that her name is Natalie and she’s an ex-MI5 agent on the run from the Colombian Cartel members that she double-crossed. Just as she was about to escape for good, Hollis’ photograph of Natalie surfaced and now the Cartel knows her whereabouts. Now, she must confront the demons of her past before any more innocent people are murdered. »

Fox’s 24: Legacy this Monday drew 3.2 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating (per finals), dropping a handful of eyeballs while rising a tenth in the demo from last week’s low. Leading out of that, Apb (2.8 mil/0.6) dipped to new lows.
