'NCIS' boss teases the team's high-stakes mission, the upcoming shocking season finale

8 May 2012 4:21 PM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

At the end of last week’s episode of NCIS, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) took a picture of the team’s target, Harper Dearing (Richard Schiff), and stuck it over the picture of Osama bin Laden that hangs on the Most Wanted wall inside NCIS HQ. The message: Dearing is going down.

But first it’s going to take the team into a high-stakes fight against an incredibly dangerous adversary, says Ep Gary Glasberg. “This arc is something that we’ve been talking about for a while,” he says of the terrorist plot. “And I think people are going to be, »

NCIS Inks Deal With McCallum For Season 10 Despite Hints Of Departure

NCISfans can relax, as David McCallum has inked his Season 10 deal. For those viewers who watched the explosive episode, "Playing With Fire", there was concern that McCallum might not be returning.

In the breathtaking episode, McCallum's character, Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard, was focused on his will and asked Gibbs (Mark Harmon) to be executor of his estate.  McCallum's re-signing of his contract means that Ducky should be sharing his wonderful stories for another season.

An integral part of the NCIS canvas since its première in 2003, McCallum is only one reason that NCIS is a ratings blockbuster, even as it goes into Season 10.

Because of its continuing success, CBS renewed NCIS in March, much sooner than many shows that still are waiting for renewal news to come in May.  While it seems odd that a show that already has been »

Over on the rarely reliable Internet Movie Database, the full cast has been revealed for the R-rated follow-up to the 2010 PG-13 film The Last Exorcism. Given the source, we'll just take this with a grain of salt.

The site reports that Andrew Sensenig, Spencer Treat Clark, Muse Watson, David Jensen, Judd Lormand, Joe Chrest, Julia Garner, Louis Herthum, Tarra Riggs, Ashlynn Ross, Cristina Franco, Raeden Greer, E. Roger Mitchell, and Boyana Balta have all joined Ashley Bell in StudioCanal’s The Beginning of the End: The Last Exorcism II.

The sequel is said to pick up three months after the original left off, but of course further details are being kept under wraps. Production is set in New Orleans, and delivery is expected in late 2012. Ed Gass-Donnelly directs.

NCIS Round Table: "Life Before His Eyes"

9 February 2012 6:27 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Our NCIS review broke down the latest installment of TV's #1 show in great detail.

Now, TV Fanatic staff members Steve Marsi, Matt Richenthal and Eric Hochberger have assembled for a weekly Round Table Q&A discussion of events from last Tuesday's 200th episode, "Life Before His Eyes."

Join in below, as we analyze various aspects of Gibbs' introspective journey ...

----------------------------------

Describe this episode in one word (or two).

Steve: Imaginative; Thought-provoking.

Matt: Great stuff.

Eric: Edge-of-your-seat. I defy you, Steve, and your tyrannical word limits! From the moment Gibbs was shot, this became a riveting installment, albeit not because of the action or the real-world plot (obviously Gibbs would come out of this fine). I just couldn't wait to see who appeared in the diner, and what alternate NCIS reality we might get a glimpse of next.

What was your favorite one-liner?

Steve: One easily overlooked but quite cool moment »

The 2o0th episode of NCIS easily dominated the competition in ratings last night with an episode that honored nine years of triumphs and tragedies with Gibbs and his team. But it was no small task for executive producer Gary Glasberg.

“It was really an homage to fans. I hope it works in that respect. It’s very hard to encapsulate nine seasons of television into 42 minutes and I hope that I was able to pull off even a little bit of that,” he says. “I just wanted to touch on not only the heart and pathos and history of »

NCIS Boss on the 200th Episode: Gibbs Took a Big Step Forward

8 February 2012 1:52 PM, PST | TVGuide.com - Features | See recent TVGuide - Features news »

Although Leroy Jethro Gibbs got to see how his life could have played out differently on the landmark 200th episode of NCIS, he decided he wouldn't have it any other way.

NCIS celebrates 200 episodes with an emotional "what if?" story

After being fired at while enjoying his morning cup of coffee at a diner, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) was led by the ghosts of Mike Franks (Muse Watson), Riley McCallister (Michael O'Neill) and Gibbs' wife Shannon (Darby Stanchfield) to some of the defining moments of Gibbs' life and the series. What if Gibbs had stopped a sniper from killing agent Kate Todd (Sasha Alexander)? What if Gibbs hadn't killed the man who murdered his family? And what if Gibbs hadn't been an NCIS agent at all?

In the end, truth was better than fiction for Gibbs. We chatted with executive producer Gary Glasberg about creating this one-of-a-kind hour...

NCIS 200th Episode Review: Again, For the First Time

7 February 2012 6:56 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

"We shall not cease from exploration / And the end of all our exploring / Will be to arrive where we started / And know the place for the first time." - T.S. Eliot

Tonight's milestone episode of NCIS showed us a side of Leroy Jehtro Gibbs we've never seen before, which was the point, as the bulk of the action did not actually take place, other than in his head.

I have not seen the 1998 film Sliding Doors, upon which "Life Before His Eyes" is loosely based, but I'm intrigued after watching Gibbs' unique journey - one funny, moving, and surprisingly complex.

Only by looking back at the decisions he's made and the wide-ranging ripple effects that followed could our fearless leader truly understand the scope of what he's accomplished over the decades.

Seeing his life, as it were, again for the first time.

Gibbs would love a perfect world, to have it both ways. »

NCIS Episode 200 Explores Alt Realities: Who Comes Back? Who Is a Hellcat? Who Has a Kid?

TV’s most-watched scripted series, CBS’ NCIS, will mark its 200th episode this Tuesday at 8/7c by prompting the usually rock-solid Leroy Jethro Gibbs to second-guess past decisions and ask himself a big, “What if…?”

The catalyst for the introspection goes down in the never-before-seen diner where Gibbs grabs his morning coffee. On this fateful day, a confrontation with a gunman leads Gibbs to ponder “what the world would have been like had things [in his life] happened differently,” NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg tells TVLine. “He looks back on his time as an agent, and even prior to that.”

Set Report: Compound Fracture

31 January 2012 10:51 AM, PST | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

It seemed to become unnaturally windy as soon as I arrived at the crew parking lot for Compound Fracture. Roughly 50 miles Northwest of Los Angeles, I soon found myself somewhat in the middle of nowhere or as the locals call it: Piru, California. The film’s main location sat perched up on a hill, mostly hidden from my car which seemed over a mile away. With the knowledge that I was about to spend the day with Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Ben Willis (aka the hook killer from I Know What You Did Last Summer), I laughed off a prayer I’d make it out alive.

As soon as I caught site of the set, it’s exterior seemed like a boring and most definitely unassuming house. But upon further inspection, underneath the building’s mundane facade existed a rather creepy cult compound vibe. As I stood there, taking in my surroundings, »

NCIS 200th Episode Photos: Mike Franks Sighting!

25 January 2012 5:44 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

NCIS returns Tuesday February 7 for a watershed event in show history.

It is, after all, the 200th episode of the CBS procedural, now in its ninth season and the #1 drama on TV. For Leroy Jethro Gibbs (star and executive producer Mark Harmon) it's a time to look back upon his life.

During a routine stop for his morning coffee at his favorite diner, Gibbs unexpectedly finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun, forcing him to question choices he has made in the past and present.

The 200th installment also serves as a "here's to our fans" moment of sorts, with a number of familiar faces returning in the alternate reality to which Gibbs' mind drifts (a la the 1998 movie, Sliding Doors).

Muse Watson (Mike Franks), Ralph Waite (Jackson Gibbs), Joe Spano (Senior FBI Agent T.C. Fornell), Darby Stanchfield (Shannon Gibbs) and Rudolf Martin (Ari Haswari) appearing in the milestone episode. »
