Geostorm Trailer #2 Takes Climate Change to the Extreme

Geostorm Trailer #2 Takes Climate Change to the Extreme
Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for Geostorm, showcasing the devastating effects of a very extreme version of "climate change." While this fictional tale surely won't sway the naysayers who think climate change is a hoax, with these massive action set pieces that show various forms of weather systems getting extremely out of control, it certainly could provide some big-budget escapism from the current political climate. This trailer hints that Geostorm may in fact be the most action-packed movie to hit theaters all year, and it could also be a dark horse box office blockbuster, starring Gerard Butler.

The story is set in the aftermath of an unprecedented series of natural disasters that threatened the planet in ways never been seen before, which lead the world's leaders to come together to create an intricate network of satellites to control the global climate and keep everyone safe. Fantastic Four Reboot Gets X-Men: Days of Future Past Writer Simon Kinberg

Fantastic Four Reboot Gets X-Men: Days of Future Past Writer Simon Kinberg
Simon Kinberg has been hired to write Josh Trank's upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four. Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin have all worked on previous drafts of the reboot for Fox as well.

The project was rumored to have already started production, but with this latest news, it seems that it's going to take a bit longer than expected for Fantastic Four to get in front of cameras. Josh Trank will be directing this remake, which is bringing the Marvel comics family back to the big screen for the first time since 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which was less than well received by fans and critics alike.

Created in 1961 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the group includes the scientist Mr. Fantastic, his wife the Invisible Girl, her brother the Human Torch and the Thing. The story follows their sci-fi adventures with villains such as Green Goblin,

DGA Nominations Honor Steven Spielberg, Ben Affleck And More

Every year, the Director’s Guild of America does incredibly well in acting as an indicator for the Best Director Academy Award. Their nominations usually match up to what the Academy chooses and more often than not, so does their winner. This year, the Guild is honouring Ben Affleck, Kathryn Bigelow, Tom Hooper, Ang Lee and Steven Spielberg with nominations.

While those are all excellent choices, there are some very obvious omissions. David O. Russell anyone? What about Quentin Tarantino? Django Unchained and Silver Linings Playbook are two of the year’s best films and if I was voting, I would put Russell and Tarantino in over Hooper and Lee. But that’s just my opinion. I would also say that Paul Thomas Anderson deserves to be up there more than Ben Affleck does.

You can check out the full list below but as we wait to hear who the Guild will choose,

Talking ‘Jack Reacher’ With Christopher McQuarrie, David Oyelowo, Rosamund Pike & Lee Child

A few days ago we had the chance to attend the press conference for Tom Cruise’s latest action-thriller “Jack Reacher.”

Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie (Oscar-winning screenwriter of “The Unusual Suspects”), the film is based on Lee Child’s popular novel “One Shot,” which is the ninth book in a 15-volume series featuring the Reacher character.

In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But the accused man claims he’s innocent and says “Get Jack Reacher.” Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense is immensely relieved, but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused’s request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man’s guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.
