The film stars Edward Furlong, Shannon Elizabeth and Bobbi Sue Luther, as a group of youngsters who uncover the remains of the long dead owners of Broussard Mansion. Prinicpal photography began in October 3rd in New Orleans so a later February 2010 release date is likely for this Seven Arts Pictures production. A plot summary for Night of the Demons here:
"Maddie Curtis and her friends Lilly and Suzanne are ready for a great Halloween night. They’re going to a party thrown by their friend Angela at the notorious Broussard Mansion in New Orleans. Over eighty years ago, six people disappeared from the mansion without a trace – and the owner, Evangeline Broussard, hung herself.

Tiger Woods was a hot topic on Twitter this weekend, and that meant he became a trending topic in Twitter-Wood. Somehow his Cadillac Escalade has become a subject of interest too, particularly with one "Harper's Island" actor who pointed out that the golfer wasn't driving a Buick.
"Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich, meanwhile, retweeted some great shots of homemade models based on the Disney-Pixar series, they're mighty impressive. Also impressive has been the performance by "New Moon" in theaters this month, but Jim Carrey took note of the movie's rabid fans and issues a warning in response. Check out those tweets along with sad news from Emmy Rossum, how to get to Sesame Street and Sarah Silverman's reaction to "Precious." It's all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 30, 2009.

Chicago – Very few filmmakers provoke the same kind of passionate adoration as the sometimes-great Kevin Smith, a man who has such a following that he can sell out large theaters filled with people who merely want to ask him questions for hours. Smith is a charismatic, interesting, clever filmmaker and his best work reflect his gregarious personality. Three of his best are captured in “The Kevin Smith Collection,” including two films with all-new Blu-Ray material.
Blu-Ray Rating: 4.0/5.0
If you were designing the Kevin Smith set and could only pick three films, what would you choose? The man has directed eight full-length feature films and we can probably cut “Jersey Girl” from consideration from the beginning, leaving seven to choose from. Personally, I would go with three different periods of his work and choose “Clerks,” “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” and “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” but then that »

If big brothers excel at one thing, it's protecting their little sisters. But Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough says his sister, Julianne Hough, is doing just fine after her breakup with Chuck Wicks. "She's 21 years old and her career is skyrocketing right now and it's tough to sustain a relationship, especially with somebody who's so much older than her," Derek, 24, told People Thursday at Diddy's 40th birthday bash at New York's Plaza Hotel. As for how Julianne, 21, and Wicks, 30, are each handling the split, Derek says, "They're both good. He's a great guy - he's cool." Related: Julianne »

I remember when Clerks was announced. It was a Sundance favorite and trailered along with Pulp Fiction. Having had some counter experience, and being a Star Wars nerd, Clerks looked like sweet elixir. And I went to see it opening weekend (in a double feature with Stargate), and was in the Kevin Smith. Revisiting his films Clerks, Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back on Blu-ray in the Kevin Smith collection is a chance to wrestle with what makes Kevin Smith great and somewhat terrible. My review after the jump.
Clerks is one of those films that - at the time - you wanted to root for. It was a small film from a filmmaker who scrapped together his pocket change and made a film, and the history of films like that which received a theatrical release were always encouraging. Spike Lee, Richard Linklater, etc. Now, now that »

The leading ladies of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee hit the red carpet in NYC on Saturday evening. Blake Lively didn't address rumors she's going into business with Victoria Beckham as she smiled for the cameras, while her boyfriend Penn Badgley mingled with fellow Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford behind the scenes. Robin Wright Penn, meanwhile, showed off her new dark hairdo as she posed alongside Julianne Moore and Keanu Reeves. The film's writer and director, Rebecca Miller, brought along her husband Daniel Day-Lewis. He, in turn, was accompanied by a few of his costars in Nine, like Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard. Both films hit the box office in the coming weeks, but it looks like the two casts have nothing but support for each other. View 35 Photos › To see more from the bash, just read more. This isn’t the first time a set titled the “[insert name] collection” has debuted with a less than stellar compilation of films attempting to represent a filmmaker or actor’s career. What Miramax did right here was calling it a “3-Movie Collection” thus letting themselves off the hook for not having some of Kevin Smith’s better films. The set includes Clerks, Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Strike Back which means the collection might not all be the crème de la crème de Smith, but it certainly lets you see a wide range of the man’s talents as a director. However, I think the best way to think of this set is as a sign of his career financially and not necessarily professionally.
With Clerks, Kevin Smith operated on a shoestring budget and cast his friends in the leads after deciding he didn’t have the chops to handle »

If you’re like me, you spend nights wondering what former “T2″ star Edward Furlong and “American Pie’s” Shannon Elizabeth are up to. Okay, if you’re like me, you’re probably just wondering what Shannon Elizabeth is up to, and if she’s still single. The answer: they’re busy co-starring in a remake of the 1988 horror movie “Night of the Demons”, the trailer for which have landed online. Take a look, and wonder no more about what has become of Furlong and Elizabeth. (Though if you’re like me, you’ll probably still continue to wonder about Elizabeth, being that she’s, you know, hot and whatnot.) I've been a huge of the original Night of the Demons for quite some time and I'm usually not one for female horror icons, but Angela does it for me in a special way if you know what I mean. Angela has been resurrected once again for the remake of Night of the Demons and will be played by Shannon Elizabeth and will co-star along side Edward Furlong. »

Actress Shannon Elizabeth has abandoned her trademark brunette locks for a new movie role.
The American Pie star debuts her new blonde look in It's Not You, in which she stars alongside Steve Guttenberg and comedian Jeffrey Ross.
And the sexy star is thrilled she got the chance to try a different style - revealing she has always been banned from touching her famous hair.
She tells WENN, "This is the first time I've been able to change my look. (Movie bosses) usually can't see past me as a brunette."
The actress hopes the new role - in which she romances both Guttenberg and Ross' characters - will show casting directors she's more versatile as an actress, even if it means drastically altering her appearance.
Elizabeth adds, "I'd definitely like to try different looks. It totally depends on the role, of course. But my favourite actor is Gary Oldman. He looks so different in all his movies, you can't always tell it's him." »

Someone with a steady hand sent Sean Patrick Flannery a picture of the best "Boondock Saints" jack-o-lantern you're likely to see this year, and he retweeted in kind. There really wasn't any other choice for the Twitter Pic of the Day.
In other tweets, David Slade continued his "Eclipse" posting with a shot of one of the film's stunt co-coordinators and Rachelle LeFevre admitted to crying during "Where the Wild Things Are." Actress Shannon Elizabeth has found love again after splitting with her dancer boyfriend Derek Hough - she's dating Police Academy star Steve Guttenberg.
Unfortunately, the new romance is just for the movies - and even that won't last.
In new romantic drama It's Not You, Guttenberg and Elizabeth play lovers who are not meant to be together.
The film, directed by Allie Dvorin, also features actress Milena Govich as the object of Guttenberg's character's affections.
It's Not You will shoot in and around New York in November and December.
Guttenberg and indie movie mogul Morris S.Levy are among the film's producers. »

Proof that some folks still want to promote their wares to the eight remaining people on Myspace, those behind the Night Of The Demons remake recently posted the picture below of Shannon Elizabeth as Angela on their site.. Look at the extremely low quality of the picture, take into account where it's been posted, and then ask yourself what quality you think the film will be. I would think the filmmakers would at least have wanted to post a photograph that was well lit. It's possible the film could overcome such poor promotion, but the fact that this picture stands as advertising does not bode well.
If you're interested, check out the Myspace site.

Welcome to Gore Girls! MTV contributor Terri Schwartz doesn't know crap about the horror genre, and she's volunteered to be our Movies Blog guinea pig. She has a good guide too. Fellow contributor Jenni Miller is a bonafide horror enthusiast, and she's willing to walk Terri through her formative experiences with blood, guts, monsters and maniacs. Together, this dynamic duo are horror's own odd couple, The Gore Girls!!! Good luck Terri... you're definitely going to need it.
This week, Gore Girls Jenni and Terri decided to tackle director Kevin Tenney's "Night of the Demons." This 1988 horror flick -- a fertile time for the genre, depending on your tastes -- plays like cautionary tale for those who would rather avoid entanglements with the underworld. On Halloween night, 10 teens decide it would be a good idea to stage a seance in an abandoned funeral parlor which happens to be built on cursed ground. »
