Lion of the Desert -- Omar Mukhtar, an Arab Muslim rebel, fights against the Italian conquest of Libya in WWI. It gives viewers a glimpse into this little-known region and chapter of history, and exposes the means by which the conquering army attempted to subdue the natives. The Message -- It is the 7th century in Mecca, where powerful leaders are in conflict with Mohammad who attacks their way of life and the injustice it produces.
