Christmas is about traditions, and TBS once again has scheduled 24 hours of A Christmas Story (starting at 8 p.m. on Dec. 24)* from Ralphie and Randy to Scut Farkus and those turkey-gobbling Bumpus mutts. Joining them on the holiday vigil, TLC offers up a four-hour block of Christmas lights spectaculars from 4-8 p.m., and a certain lady network wraps up their annual multiweek affair known as Falalala Lifetime. “We’ve had a very big year, the two of us as characters, and [Paul Adelstein and I] as actors have had just a really incredible year with good stuff to chew on,” Strickland tells TVLine. “The wedding episode is no less interesting, trust me.” The actress adds with a laugh, “It’s a lot of fun.”

John Rothman, Cristine Rose and Tess Harper have signed up for guest roles in Private Practice. TV Guide reports that Rothman and Rose will appear as Cooper's parents, while Harper has joined the cast as Charlotte's mother. They are expected to appear in the episode of the show scheduled to air on May 5. Rumours have suggested that the parents will be arriving in the show to take part in Cooper (Paul Adelstein) and Charlotte (KaDee Strickland)'s upcoming wedding. "Cristine gave me a list of all the people whose mothers she's played, which was pretty hilarious," Adelstein joked. "I've loved [Rothman] since I was a kid. Ready to meet the parents, Private Practice viewers?
In casting news that makes it clear Coop and Charlotte will be getting married this spring, KaDee Strickland tells TV Guide we'll be introduced to "the in-laws for the first time" on May 5.
Teases Strickland: "There's a scene where we all meet for the first time, and it was so awkward - in a good way. We were all feeling real dirty by the end of it."

Charlotte and Cooper’s wedding day is right around the corner, and the Private Practice Powers That Be are working overtime to make sure everything goes smoothly — right down to picking the perfect parents for the twosome. Heroes fans will be happy to hear that Christine Rose has been cast as Coop’s mom, while Mr. Freedman will be played by Ghostbusters‘ John Rothman, says TV Guide Magazine. Tess Harper (Silkwood) will play Charlotte’s mother/Big Daddy’s widow, Augusta, and all three parental units will be introduced in the ABC drama’s May 5 episode.
