4 June 2016 1:57 PM, PDT | ShockYa | See recent ShockYa news »

Struggling to make a respectable living in a corporate society and raise a happy family is a respectable goal many people strive to achieve as they settle into adulthood. But if their career begins to force them to embark on assignments that goes against their moral and ethical beliefs, they can soon descend into a damaging professional and personal existential crisis. That’s certainly the case with the protagonist, Kyle, in the new independent psychological thriller, ‘Rebirth.’ He starts to resent the hypocritical nature of his luxury bank job that nicely supports him and his family, but is too afraid to leave the financial security that goes with it. Tribeca Film Review: ‘Rebirth’

20 April 2016 1:05 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

The pitfall of a tantalizing set-up is that it requires a sterling payoff to match — a recipe for disappointment born out by “Rebirth,” whose premise-establishing early passages lead only to underwhelming revelations. Playing like a cross between multiple David Fincher efforts, all with a dash of anti-Scientology and meta-film-criticism elements thrown in for bewildering measure, this story about a man on a perplexing journey of self-discovery is best when keeping its audience in the disorienting dark, far away from the more pedestrian truths that ultimately come to light.

Writer-director Karl Mueller’s story opens with a montage of Kyle’s (Fran Kranz) monotonous routine: dawn treadmilling; breakfast with his young daughter; commuting to the bank where he’s employed as a social-media chief (writing fake millennial tweets touting their mortgage business); and coming home to his wife Mary (Kat Foster). That dreary schedule is interrupted by the unexpected arrival at »

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion: Yolanda Hadid Storms Off the Set as the Ladies Argue About Her Illness

19 April 2016 8:15 PM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Of course Yolanda Hadid was the first cast member to walk off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' season 6 reunion on Tuesday. And of course it was because the rest of the women were talking about her Lyme disease diagnosis. And of course by "the rest of the women," we mean Lisa Rinna and Lisa Vanderpump. The whole thing was so strange! They both cared so deeply about Hadid's illness, and how she has portrayed herself on social media while she has been ill. And for ... what? Andy Cohen even tried to get to the bottom of it, »

Harry Hamlin Has Some Surprising Thoughts About His Wife's Nemesis Lisa Vanderpump

19 April 2016 12:15 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Could there be discord in the Hamlin-Rinna household? For much of this last season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Rinna has been leading the crusade against her former pal Lisa Vanderpump, alleging that Lvp was pulling the strings all year long when it came to questioning Yolanda Hadid's Lyme disease. In fact, Rinna's become so consumed by her quest that the argument will spill over into (and certainly take over) the three-part reunion special, premiering tonight on Bravo. But it sounds like her husband, famed actor Harry Hamlin, is singing quite a different tune when it comes to ol' Lvp. Hamlin spoke exclusively with E! News at Resident Magazine's April Cover Party, where he »

Rebirth Review [Tribeca 2016]

18 April 2016 2:52 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Contrary to popular opinion, most critics don’t go into a film hoping to hate it. Actually, we hope to love it. Probably no one knows quite so well as film critics that sense of joy that comes from seeing a really good film, must less a truly great one. So, it’s actually very hard to exit a movie with the assured knowledge that you’re going to write a bad review, not because you wanted to hate it, but because the film was just so damned hate-able.

Karl Mueller’s Netflix Original Rebirth is one hate-able film.

Things start off innocently enough. We meet Kyle (Fran Kranz), a perfectly decent dude in a not-so-decent corporate job, with a decent wife and a decent daughter, awash in a sea of decency. His life is turned around when he meets his old college buddy Zack (Adam Goldberg), who invites him »
