Actress Faye Grant had no idea her husband Stephen Collins was filing for divorce to end their 27-year marriage, insisting she is "devastated" by the "surprise" split.
The 7th Heaven star, who wed Grant in 1985, announced on Monday that they had decided to part ways.
He stated, "My wife and I are moving forward separately in our lives. She has been my dearest friend and a loving mother. I know that we'll go through this process in a way that honours our family."
But Grant reveals she's been blindsided by the break-up.
She tells E! News, "Stephen's filing for divorce is a surprise. I am devastated. I wish him the very best in whatever path he chooses to take. Twenty-seven years of marriage in Hollywood is the equivalent of 189 dog years. I was exhausted." »

After 27 years together, actor Stephen Collins has filed for divorce from his wife, Faye Grant, he confirmed in a statement to Us Weekly.
"My wife and I are moving forward separately in our lives, " he said. "She has been my dearest friend and a loving mother. I know that we'll go through this process in a way that honors our family."
Collins, 64, is best known for his 11-year role as Rev. Eric Camden on "7th Heaven," and was seen most recently on the big screen in "The Three Stooges." He and Grant married in 1985 and have one daughter, Kate.
Grant, who appeared on "V" and "State of Grace," seems blindsided by Collins' divorce filing, telling E! News, "Stephen's filing for divorce is a surprise. I am devastated."
While Collins' marriage may be over, his former co-stars are celebrating happier times. His former on-screen daughter, Jessica Biel, is reportedly planning a wedding with her longtime beau, »

The 7th Heaven star wed actress Grant in April, 1985, but the pair has now decided to call it quits.
The 64 year old tells Entertainment Tonight, "My wife and I are moving forward separately in our lives. She has been my dearest friend and a loving mother. I know that we'll go through this process in a way that honours our family."
