Always looking to out-do and better itself, FrightFest has announced  a record number of guests for its 2012 line-up.

 Jennifer Lynch, Sheridan Smith, Dario Argento, Dominic Brunt, Ross Noble, Peter Strickland, Claudia Gerini, Michele Placido, Harry Treadaway, Michelle Ryan, Russell Tovey and The Soska Sisters head up a vibrant and eclectic mix of talent at this year’s Film4 FrightFest event at the Empire Leicester Sq.

A Look Behind the Scenes of Federico Zampaglione's Tulpa

An update has come in for the Italian giallo-esque thriller Tulpa including some behind-the-scenes photos, release info, and a look at one of the film's leading ladies. It you're in Italy, you can see Federico Zampaglione's Tulpa at the end of 2012 or early 2013.

The intention is to distribute the movie in two versions, cut and uncut (the equivalent of PG-13 and R ratings in the Us). The uncut version will be a limited release .

Below is a look at the house where Zampaglione shot a brutal murder sequence featuring Crisula Stafida courtesy of Splatter Container. In addition are a couple of pictures of a special effects hand made by Leonardo Cruciano of Leonardo Cruciano Workshop srl. Click the link at the bottom of the page for more.

Just released – first images of Italian star Claudia Gerini in a film directed by her husband Federico Zampaglione, director of award-winning Shadow.

In Tulpa, Gerini plays Lisa Boeri, a respectable and upwardly mobile businesswoman who by night, frequents the notorious sex club ‘Tulpa’ in search of dangerous forms of pleasure. When her lovers start getting murdered in horrible ways, she tries to deal with it herself with truly nightmare consequences.

To be shot entirely on location in Rome over five weeks starting March 5th, Tulpa is based on a story by genre veteran Dardano Sacchetti, with a screenplay by Giacomo Gensini and Federico Zampaglione. It is produced by Idf, Giovanni Emidi and Silvia Natill in association with Federico Zampaglione and Claudia Gerini. Director of photography is Giuseppe Di Maio. New Images and an Update on Federico Zampaglione's Tulpa

It's been close to a year since we've had any sort of update on Federico Zampaglione's Tulpa, but today we have a few screenshots and more to share on the Italian Giallo homage, which begins a five-week shoot in Rome on March 5th.

First, however, on February 25th Zampaglione will screen the opening sequence of Tulpa in Glasgow at the Film4 Frightfest.

Tulpa is based on a treatment penned by Dardano Sacchetti (The Cat o' Nine Tails, A Bay of Blood, City of the Living Dead and many more masterpieces) and then developed by Federico Zampaglione with Giacomo Gensini.

The film, which promises a lot of extreme gruesome death scenes, is about Lisa Boeri (Claudia Gerini), a rich businesswoman totally devoted to her work. She is alone, without any serious relationship, and while during the day she is almost a cold money machine, at night she becomes another person. Every »
