29 April 2016 10:29 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Who says you can't go home again? Certainly not Richard Belzer. The original Law & Order: Svu star is returning to work as John Munch along the elite squad of detectives known as the Special Victims Unit for "Fashionable Crimes." When a young model is raped by a famous fashion house photographer (guest star Fisher Stevens), the photog looks to his successful brother to get the charges dropped. This famed artist was previously in the crosshairs of the Svu squad, particularly Munch and Fin (Ice T). This is the first time Belzer returned to the show since making his final appearance in the season 15 finale back in 2014. He's played Munch on 10 different shows, starting back in 1993 on Homicide: Life »

Richard Belzer Returning to Law & Order: Svu

22 March 2016 8:56 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Law & Order: Svu is bringing back a very familiar face for May sweeps: Richard Belzer is returning to the long-running drama as John Munch, E! News has confirmed. Belzer, an original cast member on Law & Order: Svu (who has also played Munch on a total of 10 different shows), was last seen in the 2014 season 15 finale of the NBC series. He'll return to help the Svu squad take down a famous fashion photographer, played by Fisher Stevens, who is accused of preying on models. The photog apparently has been on Munch and Fin's (Ice-t) radar for some time. Belzer started playing Munch in 1993 on Homicide: Life on the Street. Law & Order: Svu was recently renewed for a landmark season 18, with »

Ask Alan: Mike Milligan vs. Johnnie Cochran, great TV musical numbers, and more

11 March 2016 6:00 AM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Happy Friday, everybody! Time for another Ask Alan. In this week's episode, we start right off with a question that has no right — or wrong — answer: who should win in an Emmy faceoff between Fargo's Bokeem Woodbine and The People v. O.J. Simpson's Courtney B. Vance? Then I pick some — but by no means all — of my favorite musical numbers from non-musical TV shows, before another showdown of sorts: Grant Gustin as Barry Allen vs. Richard Belzer as John Munch for most ubiquitous character in TV history. You can watch the video embedded at the top and bottom of this post. As always, send questions to askalan@hitfix.com. The more tightly-phrased, the better. »

John Goodman on his awkward Kristen Wiig encounter: 'I'll never speak to her again'

7 March 2016 4:15 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

John Goodman was the big guest on today's Howard Stern Show, and the sleepy-voiced Roseanne icon was endearing, forthright and funny throughout. During the sit-down he opened up about his struggles with alcoholism, related feeling like an outsider on the Hollywood scene and, hilariously, forgot not only the name of his 10 Cloverfield Lane co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead but the title of the 1999 film he made with Martin Scorsese. Also: why he feels he let SNL down during his last guest-hosting appearance. Here are all the highlights from the chat. His attempt at conversation with Kristen Wiig at a social gathering didn't go well. "She was talking to somebody else, and I was just -- I think she's so great, and the social barriers broke down and I interrupted the conversation. And I would just hate for somebody to do that to me. And she goes, 'yeah, I'll talk to you in a minute. »
