In 1992 he narrated an hour-long video on the history of the Alaska Highway called "Alaska Highway, The: 1942-1992" which was produced by public television station KAKM of Anchorage and shown nationally on PBS.

Contemplating mankind's purpose turns people like me into pseudo-philosophers. I feel that life is simply a matter of one foot in front of the other and down the road we go. In the early 1960s he released his first folk album titled "The Balladeer," which was recorded at the legendary Troubadour. The album included his song "Greenback Dollar", a 1963 hit for The Kingston Trio.
