Lars von Trier may be an intelligent person, but in some occasions his brain is not running on all 8 cylinders.

Many left wing Europeans think it is their duty to criticize Americans, and especially to criticize the American president.

I think it is because Europeans envy the Americans skill of management. Americans know how to make a decision and how to get things done.

America has saved Europe two wars, in which they themselves suffered great losses. But the wars were won because of the Americans ( and British ) determination. As usual France had buried its head in the bushes until the end the war when Charles deGaulle could come out of his hide in London and ride to Paris in an American tank along with the real liberators.

On September 12, 1962 president Kennedy said in his speech: “First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth … “ and less than seven later years Neil Armstrong sat his footprint on the moon.

It is because of America’s skill and determination that we can watch real time television from Olympic games in Australia, Canada, Japan … ( you name it ). Not to mention the G PS and many other things.

I think it is fair to say that America is the object of jealousy from most of the world.

Lars von Trier is an icon in Danish film industry and he himself thinks that he can walk on the water.

About the Danish national banner ( Dannebrog ) In 2001 Lars von said on live TV: " .. the Danish swastika. It should be collected and burned.” but in 2004 he receives 1,5 million dollars from the Danish taxpayers to support his making of “Manderley” which has so far only been seen by less than 5000 danes.

In next week president Bush will visit Denmark on his 59-year birthday. This is probably because the Danish government has given a little support to the operation in Iraq. But Danish left-wings has announced massive demonstrations against mr. Bush.
