It's almost time to head back to the Seven Kingdoms. HBO has released new stills from Game of Thrones upcoming sixth season, and they provide a few clues as to where everyone's favorite characters will be when we pick up with them April 24. Poor Arya (Maisie Williams) went blind in last year's finale as punishment for taking a face from the House of Black and White to help her kill Ser Meryn Trant. Fans have wondered if she will regain her sight. So far, there's no signs of that. Things aren't going »

New 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Photos Tease Returning Characters

7 hours ago | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

HBO just released a treasure trove of new photos from the upcoming sixth season of "Game of Thrones," and the images tease a bunch of new and returning characters -- and reveal that, yes, winter is indeed coming.

Among the most notable images are those revealing the fates of some characters whose status was a bit murky at the end of season five. First, there's a glimpse of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), who were last seen leaping off of Winterfell castle in last season's finale episode; in this new photo, they look pretty rough, but they're definitely still alive. And it looks that the poisoned Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger Free) is indeed dead, appearing as a corpse in one image while Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) looks on.

Also included is the new Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow), as well as blind Arya (Maisie Williams), a badass-looking Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke, »

Over 20 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Photos Reveal Big Surprises

8 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Back in December, HBO released the first trailer for Season 6 of Game of Thrones, although it didn't feature as much footage as most fans would like. Last month, the cable network finally confirmed that the season will debut on Sunday, April 24, and while it isn't known when we'll get the next trailer, HBO debuted over 20 new photos from the highly-anticipated season, which gives us our first look at a number of returning characters. They also reveal the fate of a few characters left ambiguous at the end of Season 5. If you aren't fully caught up with the series yet, there will be Spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.

Before we get into the potential spoilers, it's worth noting that none of these images feature Kit Harington's Jon Snow, who was brutally killed at the end of Season 5 by his Night's Watch brothers. His fate has been the subject of much debate, »

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6: First Photos Reveal Survivors and Casualties

8 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

HBO released the first photos from “Game of Thrones” Season 6 on Thursday, giving fans a look a the upcoming season premiering on April 24.

The new images reveal the status of some characters whose fates were left uncertain in the Season 5 finale, including Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), last seen jumping from one of Winterfell’s perilously high walls. Theon’s not the only Greyjoy spotlighted in the new images — his sister, Yara (Gemma Whelan), and father, Balon (Patrick Malahide), also make appearances in the stills, implying that the inhabitants of the Iron Islands may play a larger role in the ongoing battle for control of the Seven Kingdoms this season. Meanwhile, back in King’s Landing, Cersei and Jaime Lannister must come to terms with the murder of their daughter, Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free), who was poisoned on the way back from Dorne.

HBO released the first photos from the upcoming sixth season of "Game of Thrones," the two dozen new shots coming just a little over two months before the premiere on April 24th.

The new shots are decidedly vague, not revealing much of anything beyond confirming the survival of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) who were last seen jumping off Winterfell. The shots also give us a good look at Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow).

Recommended New Books on Filmmaking: ‘The Force Awakens,’ Spike Lee, ‘Alien,’ Pixar, and More

Force Awakens fever is still gripping the film industry two months after the release of the seventh Star Wars entry, and the world of cinema-centric books is just as Snoke-obsessed. But there’s plenty more worth snagging, including in-depth analyses of Pixar and Spike Lee’s Bamboozled, a lavish study of musicals, and a graphic stunner called Filmish.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo (Dk Publishing)

Dk’s Star Wars visual dictionaries are, quite simply, must-owns. (Even the three prequel editions are fascinating.) And the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary might be the best yet. Author Pablo Hidalgo goes deep, providing everything you wanted to know about Jakku (but were afraid to ask), offering insight on briefly seen characters like Max Von Sydow’s Lor San Tekka, and breaking down exactly why the “crossguard blades” of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber are a necessity. Plus, the film stills »

Star Wars: The Force Awakens becomes only the third movie ever to gross $2 billion worldwide

7 February 2016 9:58 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Having become the first release ever to gross $900 million at the North American box office this past Friday, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has now achieved another milestone, with the movie crossing the $2 billion mark worldwide today.

It’s only the third time ever that a film has reached the landmark figure, with James Cameron achieving the feat twice with Titanic ($2.187 billion) and Avatar ($2.788 billion). However, it is unlikely that The Force Awakens will have enough left in the tank to knock either of those from their current positions and will surely have to settle for third in the list of the highest-grossing movies of all time, leaving Cameron as the king of the box office world.

'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Is the Biggest Yet Says Sophie Turner

31 January 2016 1:07 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

When Game of Thrones first aired in 2010, fans had the original George R.R. Martin books as a guide, and although the series did stray from the novels on several occasions, fans largely knew what was coming next. The upcoming Season 6 represents uncharted territory for fans of the show and the books alike, since the author still has not finished his sixth and seventh books in the series, leaving fans in the dark about what to expect. Entertainment Weekly caught up with series star Sophie Turner, who teased that Game of Thrones Season 6 is the best yet for her character, Sansa Stark.

"I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa. It's probably her best season yet. It's her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it's really good. »

The official Star Wars site has revealed that Smith – who was actually the first person to reveal that Stormtroopers would feature in Episode VII – lent his voice to a Stormtrooper during the attack on Maz Kanata’s castle on Takodana, delivering the line “We have incoming at 28.6! Move!”

Head on over to the site here for details on the many other voices featuring in the film, which includes several Star Wars veterans from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
