‘Star Wars Rogue One’ Trailer Gets Even Better When You Add the Beastie Boys — Watch

27 August 2016 3:03 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

After watching the first teaser for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” audiences were pretty pumped for the spin-off action film. Then the first trailer arrived and all hell broke loose (in a good way). But now, excitement for the film is on another level, all thanks to the Beastie Boys.

Video editor and YouTuber Matthew Longua made a killer new remix trailer for “Rogue One,” but instead of using composer Alexandre Desplat’s music, he swapped it out for the song “Sabotage” by Beastie Boys. The result is amazing!

The song cues in after Jyn Erso’s (Felicity Jones) line “I rebel,” and instantly kicks the video into high gear, making the footage look even more badass, all while elevating the action sequences.

Director Gareth Edwards discusses the meaning of the title for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

25 August 2016 1:25 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

We’re just a few months away from the release of Disney and Lucasfilm’s first Star Wars anthology movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and during an interview with Empire Online, director Gareth Edwards has been discussing the meaning of the title.

“I’d been thinking about it,” states Edwards. “What does it mean? ‘Rogue One’ is a military call sign to some extent, but this is the first film that’s gone off-piste and is not part of the saga – or the Anakin story – so it’s the ‘rogue’ one, you know? It’s kind of describing [Jyn Erso] as well in a similar way. It has [all] these split, multiple meanings that made it feel like the right choice.”

Well, there goes my bet of it being a codename for Mads Mikkselsen’s Galen Erso…

Hollywood Odds: “Arrival” Trailers suggest a serious science fiction contender

23 August 2016 9:41 AM, PDT | Hollywoodnews.com | See recent Hollywoodnews.com news »

Last week, we got one of our very best looks yet at Arrival, what could be 2016’s big science fiction awards player. Yes, there’s also Passengers, to name one other, but this one has now dropped a few Trailers, so that puts it in the early lead. Boasting one of the most interesting directors out there in Denis Villeneuve, not to mention one of the most overdue for an Oscar actresses in Amy Adams, there’s some star power on hand. It’s always hard to pin down whether sci-fi will play with voters, but this definitely looks like an intelligent film that could have a chance for Oscar contention. You’ll see a Trailer below, but first…let’s discuss the movie itself a bit! The film is a sci-fi drama centering on a well regarded linguist Dr. Louise Banks (Adams) who is recruited by the military to »

When Rogue One: A Star Wars Story makes a beeline for theaters in December, it’ll mark the first of Disney’s planned Anthology films – standalone stories that will be positioned adjacent to the core, episodic series.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are currently fleshing out their own Anthology flick, one that’ll chart the origins of everyone’s favorite galactic smuggler Han Solo, while there’s also chatter of a potential Star Wars spinoff focusing on Yoda. Big plans, then, and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards is well aware of the task at hand.
