Gaston Arrives in New Beauty and the Beast Sneak Peek

2 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier this month, Luke Evans appeared on Good Morning America to promote Beauty and the Beast, where he shared a brief clip with his character Gaston, as his aide-de-camp Le Fou (Josh Gad) sings the classic Gaston song from the original animated classic. That video only gave us a tiny taste of that scene, but today we have a new clip that features even more of this iconic song. The clip gives fans a brief glimpse at the iconic "Gaston" song, with LeFou leading a tavern full of men and women in rousing chorus, praising Luke Evans' character.

In the original animated classic, LeFou sings this song to cheer Gaston up, after Belle rejects him, and as we can see in this clip, which debuted on Disney's YouTube channel, it does seem quite faithful to the original animated classic. We've previously seen a clip of the opening sequence, where »

Be Our Guest And Check Out The New Beauty And The Beast TV Spot

5 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Disney’s ongoing project to translate its treasured animated classics into live action will face its biggest test on March 17 with the release of Beauty and the Beast. The beloved Oscar winning 1992 film is widely considered one of the finest movies the studio has ever produced, leaving the upcoming adaptation facing some pretty fierce scrutiny from fans.

During last night’s Academy Awards, a brand new TV spot debuted and the nicest thing you can say about it is that it genuinely looks like the animated film come to life. Director Bill Condon has apparently gone to extraordinary lengths to capture the atmosphere of the original, the spot introducing friendly candlestick butler Lumiere (voiced by Ewan McGregor) and a good look at one of my favorite Disney villains, the famously egotistical loudmouth Gaston (Luke Evans).

Right now, color me cautiously optimistic about this one. Dan Stevens and Emma Watson seem »

Thompson explained, while doing press for “Beauty and the Beast” that it was “too soon” since the death of her counterpart in the film, Alan Rickman. For that reason, Curtis was unable to write her a part.

Rickman played Thompson’s adulterous husband, Harry, in the 2003 film. The rest of the ensemble cast includes Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth and Keira Knightley.

Should it hit the top end of the range, it would overtake Alice in Wonderland’s $116 million for the third-biggest March opening weekend behind The Hunger Games ($152 million) and record holder Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opened last year with $166 million.

Beauty and the Beast on Track for Huge $120M Box Office Opening

23 February 2017 9:10 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

When Beauty and the Beast started smashing trailer view records, it didn't take Disney long to realize that it had another gargantuan hit on its hands. And the first tracking records now indicate that the live-action adaptation of the classic 90s cartoon will bring booming business to the early 2017 box office. It stands to be one of the biggest hits of the year with ten months still left to go following its release.

The movie, which stars Emma Watson as Belle, is tracking for a massive $120 million opening according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be in theaters on March 17, with the tracking numbers coming courtesy of pre-release surveys. Disney insiders are being more cautious with that high number, and don't want to step on their own toes. They are downplaying the monster potential of this Beauty and her Beast, claiming it will open just north of $100 million.

TV Review: ‘Feud’

23 February 2017 7:00 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Feud,” which tells the story of clashing screen titans Joan Crawford and Bette Davis around the production of their 1962 film “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?,” is a series designed for a knowing audience, a basket of Easter eggs. The mythos of the film’s production — which cast the two rivals as two sisters raised in show business — is intertwined with each actress’ place in Hollywood legend; it was a last-ditch attempt at relevance for both “mature” stars, in an industry that would have preferred to shove them aside for younger women. As “Feud” relates, even though Crawford brought the project to Davis and profited off of its success, she couldn’t stomach the fact that Davis was nominated for an Academy Award over her. Stoked by alcohol and anger, Crawford went so far as to actively campaign against her costar in the 1963 Oscar race — before mutual desperation brought the two actresses together again for “HushHush »

Feud: Bette And Joan Review

22 February 2017 6:29 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Five episodes were provided prior to broadcast.

“Feuds are never about hate,” famed screen legend Olivia de Havilland (Catherine Zeta-Jones) explains to a documentary film director in the opening minutes of what’s likely to be your simmering new obsession: Feud. “They’re about pain.” Anthology fetishist Ryan Murphy understands that pathos to a disturbingly detailed degree, and in tracking the blistering “friendship” between legendary actresses Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, he ends up with one of his best cracks at the anthology genre in years.

The show’s premise risks stepping into the catty trap of comebacks and catfights at first blush, but Murphy and company have no desire to reduce Bette and Joan’s discourse into a frivolous fiasco. Feud is deliberate and cunning, with as much guile and guts as the two women at its center. Its drama is a slower-burn than Murphy’s typical chomping-at-the-bit style, »
