Some are still buzzing with energy, while others are a little sad that it's all over for another year. There are even those dour sourpusses who feel this year was nothing but lackluster. Even if that's the case, Comic-Con 2014 wasn't without its surprises. Maybe there weren't as many as in years past. And the fact that neither Marvel nor DC announced any of its upcoming titles still stings. But, dang that footage! Both studios are clearly on the path to releasing two of the biggest movies of all time! It's clear that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Avengers: Age of Ultron will be vying to knock Avatar off its perch as the top grossing movie of all time. But seeing the latest and first footage from these superhero behemoths wasn't the only fun studios had with their fans and ever-expanding audience. There were a couple of curveballs thrown »
Mexico’s Day of the Dead will be brought to life in the animated fantasy adventure tale, The Book of Life. A vibrant, magical and romantic journey, the story will tell the legend of Manolo (Diego Luna), a conflicted hero and dreamer who sets off on an epic quest in order to rescue his one true love and defend his village. The voice cast also includes Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Christina Applegate, Ron Perlman, Danny Trejo, Ice Cube and Cheech Marin. While at Comic-Con for a presentation in Hall H, co-stars Channing Tatum, Christina Applegate and Ron Perlman spoke to press during a conference, in which they talked about what they enjoy about the voice-over process, what it’s like to see their voice matched to the finished product, what was appealing about the story, working without an actual script, and how they would describe the film. So far, the most memorable moment to happen inside Hall H, aside from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuting its first footage and a look at Gal Gadot in her Wonder Woman costume, has been legendary rapper Biz Markie's surprise performance of 'Just a Friend' for The Book of Life panel. We have the entire performance for you to watch here, which includes Channing Tatum joining in on the fun. Check it out as the duo break it down for the San Diego crowd.

When 20th Century Fox was planning its big Hal H presentation that debuted yesterday at Comic-Con 2014, they probably didn't realize iconic rapper Biz Markie would still the show with a rendition of 'Just a Friend', but that's exactly what happened when he came out to promote the new animated movie The Book of Life from producer Guillermo del Toro. Even Channing Tatum, who voices one of the characters in the movie, had to get out of his seat and dance along. We have interviews from the event with Channing Tatum, Biz Markie, Guillermo del Toro and director Jorge R. Gutierrez. Check them out:

2014 has already seen some very good films released, with the likes of Boyhood, The Fault in Our Stars, X-Men: Days of Future Past and others doing great business and turning heads in the process. The remainder of 2014 will also see a large number of film releases, and some of those are highly intriguing. Let’s take a look at ten of the films that I, personally, am excited for in the second half of 2014.
Director, James Gunn, tasselled my hair playfully when he put a little independent film named “Super” on the table in 2010, an underrated Rainn Wilson fronted comedy drama about a guy who thinks that god is telling him to fight crime. When I heard that Gunn was bringing his sense of humour and action to Guardians of the Galaxy my interest hit a high note. With a cast including the enjoyable everyman Chris Pratt »

When Channing Tatum says he's channeling his inner Joaquin for his appearance at Comic-Con this Friday, let's hope he means the new animated character he plays in The Book of Life and not fellow actor Joaquin Phoenix who hates taking fan questions and loathes events such as the one going on right now down in San Diego. Channing Tatum has tweeted out a new poster for The Book of Life to prepare us all for his god-like arrival at the convention center. Check it out and pray to the abs of Channing!

Do you think Danny Trejo thought he was auditioning for Snowpiercer, a movie about a train, when he was actually auditioning to lip-synch a Train song in a Train music video? I know that's a stretch, but I really can't think of a better explanation as to why I'm sitting here watching Danny Trejo lip-synch these Train lyrics. (Also, is there not a more Train-sounding song title than "Angel in Blue Jeans"?) »

FX made a deal with the studio of Saint George that, if the first season drew high enough ratings, the sitcom would be renewed for a second season of 90 episodes (similar to the Anger Management deal). Will it be renewed or be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
On Saint George, a recently divorced successful entrepreneur (George Lopez) struggles to balance the parenting demands of his All-American Anglo ex-wife and the cultural expectations of his overbearing Mexican-American mother. The cast includes Lopez, Jenn Lyon, Olga Merediz, Kaden Gibson, David Zayas, Danny Trejo, Diana-Maria Riva, Joey Pollari, and Tobit Raphael.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
7/12 update: FX has cancelled this »
Episodes: 10 (half-hour)
TV show dates: March 6, 2014 -- May 8, 2014

Earlier today, Comicbookmovie.com posted an exclusive clip for the upcoming “death to reality” horror film, L.A. Slasher, a film that I, for one, am quite looking forward to. What better setup, than a slasher looking for privileged reality stars to dispatch? Count me in. While no bloodshed is shown in the clip, it does feature the never slowing down Danny Trejo, who along with Guardians Of The Galaxy‘s Dave Bautista, plays a drug dealer with an obvious sense of humor. Check it out!
“a biting, social satire about reality TV and the glorification of people who are famous for simply being famous, L.A. Slasher explores why it has become acceptable and even admirable for people to become influential and wealthy based on no merit or talent – purely through notoriety achieved through shameful behavior. Incensed by the tabloid culture which celebrates it, the L.A. Slasher publicly abducts a series of reality TV stars, »

Written and directed by John Herzfeld, the film's story follows a group of people that all have a connection to a self-help book written by a reclusive former football coach. With Guardians of the Galaxy due to hit theaters next month, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer, continues his transition from the world of professional wrestling to becoming a formidable big screen actor. He recently starred as "Brass Body" in The Man With The Iron Fists and co-starred with Vin Diesl (Fast And The Furious, Guardians of the Galaxy) in Riddick. In this exclusive clip for L.A. Slasher we see him go toe-to-toe with veteran Danny Trejo. Trejo, best known for his Machete character has been busy lately as well. His singing and dancing routines for Muppets Most Wanted stood out as one of the most memorable moments of the movie. At 70 years old, he doesn’t seem to show any signs of slowing down. He currently has 13 films in post-production. How many other actors can still play a bad ass at 70 years old? The L.A. Slasher publicly abducts »
