John Wick: Chapter Two has twice the action of the first movie, reveals director Chad Stahelski

24 September 2016 4:44 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Following on from this week’s first poster and news of a New York Comic-Con panel, director Chad Stahelski has been chatting to Collider about the upcoming sequel John Wick: Chapter Two, stating that it has “twice the action” of the first movie, as well as teasing what’s in store when Keanu Reeves’ retired hitman heads to Rome to take on some of the world’s deadliest killers.

“I would say we had twice as much action as the first movie,” states Stahelski. “We took it all a full notch up as far as the driving car stuff went. A great portion of the car chase in the opening of the film is Keanu, which is very impressive… People kept asking us in the year after the movie came out, ‘We’d like to see more about the hotel.’ ‘We’d like to see more about all the different characters. »

John Wick 2 Has Twice as Much Action Says Director

21 September 2016 5:49 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier today, Lionsgate confirmed that they are bringing the highly-anticipated sequel John Wick Chapter 2 to New York Comic Con, while debuting a new poster. The first trailer will debut during this Q&A panel, which will take place Saturday, October 8 at 2 Pm Et and will be live-streamed on Twitch. Today we have new details from director Chad Stahelski, who teases that this sequel will deliver double the action of its predecessor.

2014's John Wick wasn't a box office blockbuster by any means, taking in just $43 million domestically and $86 million worldwide from a $20 million budget, but fans kept discovering it on home video. Entertainment Weekly caught up with Chad Stahelski, who is directing John Wick 2 by himself after working with David Leitch on the original action-thriller. Chad Stahelski teased that there is twice as much action in the sequel.

"I would say we had twice as much action as the first movie. »

First Look At John Wick: Chapter Two Features A Sharp-Suited Keanu Reeves

21 September 2016 12:06 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Baba Yaga, the Boogeyman – whatever moniker you place on Keanu Reeves’ stone-cold assassin, John Wick is not a man to be trifled with. Two years ago, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski’s directorial debut drove home that point with style, introducing moviegoers to an action hero that was as ferocious as he was unforgiving, hunting down the men responsible for killing his puppy – and, by effect, the last remaining memory of his late wife – and picking them off one by one.

Borrowing elements from martial arts films and even anime, John Wick was a true breakout hit, and after garnering $80 million plus at the international box office, we now arrive at John Wick: Chapter Two.

Penciled in for a launch early next year, Chad Stahelski, who assumes full directing duties now that Leitch has booked a journey to The Coldest City, has been drumming up excitement ahead of New York Comic-Con next weekend, »

‘John Wick: Chapter Two’ Poster: Keanu Reeves Is Dressed for Success

21 September 2016 12:03 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

John Wick” was a surprise hit when it came out two years ago, earning favorable reviews and proving a modest box-office success — both of which are relatively rare for Keanu Reeves of late. (“47 Ronin,” which came out a year earlier, is estimated to have lost more than $150 million.) A sequel to the barebones action flick was announced early last year, and now “John Wick: Chapter Two” has a teaser poster (below).

John Wick 2 Poster Has Arrived; Keanu Reeves Is Coming to Nycc

21 September 2016 10:57 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

While San Diego Comic-Con proved to be disappointing on the movie side of things, New York Comic Con is looking to turn that around in a big way. This year, Lionsgate is bringing two of its most anticipated movies to the Javits Center, with the Power Rangers reboot and the sequel John Wick: Chapter 2. To celebrate the announcement, Lionsgate has debuted the first teaser poster for John Wick 2 featuring star Keanu Reeves.

Keanu Reeves is seen being measured for a new suit in this one-sheet, and it is quite ominous, and reminiscent of old Westerns where those heading into a duel were often sized for their coffin. Will John Wick be staring down the Grim Reaper in this follow-up to the smash hit? That's possible, and we're sure to learn a lot more in just a few weeks.

Keanu Reeves will be appearing at Nycc along with other »

American Gods: Mr. Wednesday Dishes Out Some Wednesday Wisdom In New Pic

24 August 2016 6:52 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Ready for your weekly helping of Wednesday Wisdom? Empire has lifted the lid on a new image for American Gods, placing Ian McShane (Deadwood, Game of Thrones) front and center as the glowering Mr. Wednesday.

An instrumental component of Shadow Moon’s (Ricky Whittle) clash with the new gods, Mr. Wednesday is a conman and grifter, and one of the many intriguing characters lining Starz’s roster. In bringing American Gods to the small-screen, the network has set Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) as showrunner and Neil Gaiman – the creative mastermind behind the original novel – and the former told Empire that this adaptation is shaping up to be “Clash Of The Titans meets The Grifters.”

That presents Fuller and Co. with plenty of rich story material to mine from, as Starz goes about engineering a “meticulous weave of characters and storylines” for premiere in 2017.

A monstrous transformation threatens to literally tear a family apart in Clown. What made you say “yes” to taking on this movie with this crazy concept?

Laura Allen: I was in New York City in the fall of 2012, I had a brand new baby in my hotel in SoHo, and I was given the script. I started reading Meg’s story in Clown, and was getting the fact that everything’s so primal. She’s pregnant and she’s terrified and she’s just interested in the survival of her family. Emily S. Whitten: American Gods In Your Home?

2 August 2016 3:00 PM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

When I heard that Neil Gaiman’s bestselling novel American Gods was being made into a TV series, I was super-interested. I’ve been a fan of American Gods (and Neil’s body of work oh, generally speaking, for many years and even had the privilege of bringing Neil and the book to The National Press Club in D.C. during its limited Tenth Anniversary Tour. And although the novel is such an epic that I had a bit of trouble picturing how the adaptation would work, I’ve always wanted to see what it would be like on screen.

As the news started filtering in about who would be running the show, writing the show, and playing all the parts, I got more and more excited. And now that I’ve been to the Sdcc booth experience (which was appropriately otherworldly and included some cool swag!), attended the panel »
