While there may be a lot of focus on Twin Peaks, there is of course one more show that refuses to be ignored. The American Gods finale is here, and we finally get to meet Easter (Kristin Chenoweth). More importantly the Gods have a face-off that may set the scene for a war in Season two.

Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) arrive at a party to try to recruit Ostara, also known as Easter. With Laura (Emily Browning) and Mad Sweeney (Pablo Shreiber) also arriving looking for help with resurrection, it doesn’t take long for a few newer Gods to join the party.

‘John Wick: Chapter 2′ Blu-ray Review

Stars: Keanu Reeves, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Claudia Gerini, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Tobias Segal, John Leguizamo | Written by Derek Kolstad | Directed by Chad Stahelski

2014′s John Wick took pretty much everyone by surprise. The third in a trilogy of action movies Keanu Reeves made in 2013/4, John Wick succeeded where 47 Ronin and The Man of Tai Chi (in which Reeves played the villain) didn’t. And that’s not to say that either of those films were sub-par, far from it. However there was something about the stoic, unstoppable hitman John Wick that resonated with audiences across the globe. And so three years later we finally get a sequel.

From the same writer/director team as the first film, Derek Kolstad and Chad Stahelski respectively, John Wick: Chapter 2 picks up where the first film left off. Literally. John heads back to the gang who stole his »

Review: John Wick Chapter 2

12 June 2017 10:04 AM, PDT | Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news »

We’ve seen one man versus an army and a man who wants to retire only to be dragged back to the fight. It’s a staple of storytelling and modern cinema so it all comes to down the execution. In fall 2014, audiences were introduced to the latest character in this celebrated model: John Wick. A surprise hit for Lionsgate, it was fairly quickly decided to make a sequel, hoping to turn this into a series which can be a challenge when the main character just wants to be left alone.

In January, Wick’s return came with John Wick Chapter 2 which offered more of the same high-octane stunts, fights, shooting, punching, and martial arts. With a stoic performance from Keanu Reeves we find ourselves rooting for the antihero as the relentless pace is sustained over two hours.

Out now from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, the film can be seen on Digital HD, »

In American Gods last week, we got to see the two sides of the upcoming war. This week Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) needs to recuperate, but will his chosen hiding place be the right one?

On the run from the New Gods, Mr Wednesday takes Shadow (Ricky Whittle) to one of his oldest friends, Vulcan (Corbin Bernsen). While this is going on Laura (Emily Browning) and Mad Sweeney (Pablo Shreiber) go on a road trip of their own with new friend Salim (Omid Abtahi).

Emmy Contenders 2017: Guest Actor in a Drama

Look for returning characters to dominate the category, with last year’s winner Hank Azaria likely to repeat his nom for his role as disgraced FBI Agent Ed Cochran in “Ray Donovan.” Beau Bridges should land his third consecutive nod for “Masters of Sex.” Mark Margolis was last nominated for playing Hector Salamanca on “Breaking Bad” in 2012, and that was with a minimum of dialogue, so he has a good shot for bringing a younger but no less terrifying Hector to “Better Call Saul.” Ben Mendelsohn previously won in the supporting category for “Bloodline” but this year he’s eligible as a guest star. year. And both Dylan Baker and Matthew Perry could earn nods for bringing their characters from “The Good Wife” to its spinoff “The Good Fight.”

The freshman series “This Is Us” could be a powerhouse, with turns from Denis O’Hare, Brian Tyree Henry, Jermel Nakia and Gerald McRaney. But »
