The making of threequels can be a thorny business, especially when it comes to the most beloved of franchises, but that hasn't held back the creation of some truly phenomenal third films.
With the recent arrival of the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in Sky Store, we're celebrating some of the best threequels out there:
The Harry Potter series gave us a unique chance to watch a group of young actors growing up over more than a decade from cute little kids to major stars with some serious blockbusters under their belts.
As with Jk Rowling's original novels, The Prisoner of Azkaban revealed the full potential of the series. It is darker and scarier, sure, but also richer and more complex with some great character moments from its young cast.

By the end of the 2000s, getting number one at the American box office was a valuable marketing commodity. As such, studios pumped more and more money into making sure they at least had a great opening weekend for their product.
The consequence of this was that it was harder and harder for smaller and quirkier films to take a brief spot in the sun. Certainly towards the second half of the decade, it seems that the number one movie each week was pre-ordinained in a marketing meeting somewhere.
Still, there were some films that have since fallen out of public view that clawed their way to number one. How many of these do you remember?

Comedy Central's comedy lineup features some true standouts, but only one show stars Cuba Gooding Jr... as himself. "Big Time in Hollywood, Fl," produced by Ben Stiller and created by Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf (who first worked with Stiller on the digital series "Next Time... On Lonny"), features Alex Anfanger and Lenny Jacobson as the Dolfe brothers, whose love of filmmaking drags them into the seedy underground of their Florida town. In this exclusive clip, we get a look at one of the films Jack and Ben Dolfe have been making — "Monkey Largo," an intense action flick that might feel familiar to any "Miami Vice" fans. What "Monkey Largo" might lack in production quality, it makes up for in bullets, blood and (as you might suspect) a chimp. Watch the clip above. "Big Time in Hollywood, Fl" airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm on Comedy Central. Read More: 'Inside Amy. »

Owen Wilson is pretty easy to impress it seems – a brilliant new video has emerged demonstrating how many times the actor says "wow!" in his films.
In total, the actor says his favourite word 54 times, meaning he averages nearly one "wow!" per film.
Earlier this year, the trailer for Wilson's new action thriller No Escape debuted.
In the film, Wilson partners up with co-star Pierce Brosnan to ensure his family's safety amidst a violent revolt in South East Asia.
The sequel was officially announced at Paris Fashion week in March when the comedy actors walked the catwalk as their alter egos Derek Zoolander and Hansel during Valentino's show. »

Oscar winner Kate Winslet and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees are just two names set to show off their survival skills this summer, as they have signed on to participate in season two of NBC’s “Running Wild With Bear Grylls.”
They — as well as Kate Hudson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed Helms, Michelle Rodriguez, James Marsden and Michael B. Jordan — will join the famed survivalist as he tramps through the jungles of Panama, scales the Italian Alps and the Colorado Rocky Mountains and conquers more of the world’s most unforgiving wildernesses.
“It has been such a privilege to adventure alongside these iconic men and women — and this season has made for some unforgettable journeys,” said Grylls. “The excitement of being dropped into uncharted territory and tackling the wilderness head on, in the way we do, can be both daunting and very draining, but it is also very empowering »

Justin Bieber was questioned by police in Italy on Wednesday (29.04.15). The 21-year-old singer, who recently admitted he is ''not very proud'' of his mistakes and insisted he is getting his life back on track after multiple brushes with the law last year, was reportedly interrogated by authorities at his five-star hotel in Rome about an incident involving his bodyguards and a local photographer in Argentina in 2013. But a source close to the Canadian heartthrob told E! News: ''He was questioned but wasn't as serious as they made it seem. He is still in Rome and having a great time.'' The 'Boyfriend' hitmaker is in Italy to film a cameo for the upcoming Ben Stiller comedy 'Zoolander 2'. Another source told gossip website TMZ.com that Justin, who is said to have had to go through secondary search at Customs upon arriving in Italy, was questioned as there »

It was the Instagram heard 'round the world! Ben Stiller himself announced via the social media site that none other than Justin Bieber was joining the cast of the much-hyped Zoolander 2. And he did it by posting a photo of the two Blue Steel-ing each other, of course. There are understandably mixed reactions to this addition to the flick, but it's clear that the Biebs is dead set on inserting himself into every last inch of pop culture, so we may as well just roll with it. In this vein we decided to get on board with his new role and even do a little brainstorming for the movie. Now Justin Bieber may be new to acting, but he's certainly not new to acting crazy. Which, let's be honest, is »
When the original Zoolander waltzed onto the scene back in 2001, Ben Stiller’s fashion bonanza was chock full of cameo appearances, with everyone from Paris Hilton to the Spice Girls getting in on the action. Fast forward to 2015 and with Stiller gearing up to deliver a bigger and bolder sequel with Zoolander 2, today brings word that singer-songwriter Justin Bieber has joined the sequel in an unspecified role.
The director took to Instagram to confirm the news, with Bieber donning his best Blue Steel impression and reaffirming his place through Twitter. Both parties threw up the above image alongside the casting announcement, hinting that Bieber could very well play a young protégé to Ben Stiller’s Derek Zoolander or, perhaps in the more likely scenario, a wet-behind-the-ears rival who just so happens to steal his jet-black do. We’ll likely learn more about Bieber’s role as the high-fashion sequel nears its release next year, »

Justin's pursed-lip look is pretty impressive – almost fierce enough (dare we say it?!) to rival Blue Steel.

The fashion and entertainment worlds were abuzz in March when Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashed Paris Fashion Week as Derek Zoolander and Hansel, their characters from the 2001 comedy classic Zoolander. The stunt came about as a way of announcing the release date for Zoolander 2, the long-awaited sequel. Now, with the movie shooting, we also know a few cast members who will be in the follow-up, including some original stars from the beloved, quotable movie. New cast members have been steadily joining as well, including the most recent addition, Justin Bieber! Take a look at the full cast (so far) here. »
Over the past couple years, Justin Bieber has been a pretty big douchebag. It's hard to blame him though, since becoming famous overnight at such a young age has taken a toll on many young celebrities. But since Comedy Central's roast of the pop star, it seems like he's genuinely trying to be less of a jerk, and a big screen role in his future just might help with that. Bieber took to Twitter to reveal that he has some part in Zoolander 2, which has been stacking up the talent lately with the recent additions of "Portlandia" star Fred Armisen and the return of Billy Zane. Of course, this is likely just a cameo and nothing major. Read on! The cast of Zoolander 2 just got even larger. Ben Stiller posted a picture of himself opposite Justin Bieber this week, confirming that the pop star will be making a cameo in the comedy. I have to say, I'm really impressed with Bieber's Blue Steel! Then again, Bieber is actually a model. Aside from his stint on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and some random cameo credits, he hasn't acted much. This could be the beginning of a whole new chapter for Bieber! Or it could just be a really quick appearance - à la Billy Zane. What do you think of the casting news? #Zoolander2 @justinbieber A photo posted by Ben Stiller (@benstiller) on Apr 29, 2015 at 12:24am Pdt »
