50 Funniest Comedy Movie Moments Since 2000

23 May 2015 3:19 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

DreamWorks Pictures Comedy is undoubtedly the most subjective movie genre of the bunch. Everyone simply has a difference of opinion as to what they think is funny. Some people might find the sight of someone vomiting on another person hilarious while others prefer their comedy to be slightly more sophisticated. Neither preference is wrong, just different (and certainly not mutually exclusive).

The turn of the century saw a shift in the cinematic comedic landscape. The dominance of Jim Carrey was on its last leg, and fellow comedy heavyweights such as Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphy would soon find themselves relegated to mostly lowest common denominator films that lack comedic souls.

The early 2000s saw the rise of Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and many others. By the time the mid-to-late-2000s came around, guys like Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen and Zach Galifianakis were running things. Fast forward to present day, »

The most satisfying movie threequels

21 May 2015 4:01 PM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

The making of threequels can be a thorny business, especially when it comes to the most beloved of franchises, but that hasn't held back the creation of some truly phenomenal third films.

With the recent arrival of the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in Sky Store, we're celebrating some of the best threequels out there:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The Harry Potter series gave us a unique chance to watch a group of young actors growing up over more than a decade from cute little kids to major stars with some serious blockbusters under their belts.

As with Jk Rowling's original novels, The Prisoner of Azkaban revealed the full potential of the series. It is darker and scarier, sure, but also richer and more complex with some great character moments from its young cast.

25 mainly forgotten Us number 1 movies from the 2000s

13 May 2015 1:00 PM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Kevin Spacey, Steven Seagal and, erm, Kangaroo Jack: they all nabbed the box office top spot last decade...

By the end of the 2000s, getting number one at the American box office was a valuable marketing commodity. As such, studios pumped more and more money into making sure they at least had a great opening weekend for their product.

The consequence of this was that it was harder and harder for smaller and quirkier films to take a brief spot in the sun. Certainly towards the second half of the decade, it seems that the number one movie each week was pre-ordinained in a marketing meeting somewhere.

Still, there were some films that have since fallen out of public view that clawed their way to number one. How many of these do you remember?

Watch: Cuba Gooding Jr. Takes On a Chimp in Exclusive 'Big Time in Hollywood, Fl' Video

Comedy Central's comedy lineup features some true standouts, but only one show stars Cuba Gooding Jr... as himself. "Big Time in Hollywood, Fl," produced by Ben Stiller and created by Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf (who first worked with Stiller on the digital series "Next Time... On Lonny"), features Alex Anfanger and Lenny Jacobson as the Dolfe brothers, whose love of filmmaking drags them into the seedy underground of their Florida town.  In this exclusive clip, we get a look at one of the films Jack and Ben Dolfe have been making — "Monkey Largo," an intense action flick that might feel familiar to any "Miami Vice" fans. What "Monkey Largo" might lack in production quality, it makes up for in bullets, blood and (as you might suspect) a chimp.  Watch the clip above. "Big Time in Hollywood, Fl" airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm on Comedy Central.   Read More: 'Inside Amy. »

Owen Wilson is WOWed by everything in a brilliant compilation video

10 May 2015 4:26 PM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Owen Wilson is pretty easy to impress it seems – a brilliant new video has emerged demonstrating how many times the actor says "wow!" in his films.

There's two and a half whole minutes of Wilson being wowed by everything, as seen in clips taken from films such as You, Me and Dupree, The Darjeeling Limited and Marley and Me.

In total, the actor says his favourite word 54 times, meaning he averages nearly one "wow!" per film.

Earlier this year, the trailer for Wilson's new action thriller No Escape debuted.

In the film, Wilson partners up with co-star Pierce Brosnan to ensure his family's safety amidst a violent revolt in South East Asia.

Wilson is also currently working on Zoolander 2 with Ben Stiller.

The sequel was officially announced at Paris Fashion week in March when the comedy actors walked the catwalk as their alter egos Derek Zoolander and Hansel during Valentino's show. »

Zoolander 2 To Feature Justin Bieber Cameo

29 April 2015 12:18 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

When the original Zoolander waltzed onto the scene back in 2001, Ben Stiller’s fashion bonanza was chock full of cameo appearances, with everyone from Paris Hilton to the Spice Girls getting in on the action. Fast forward to 2015 and with Stiller gearing up to deliver a bigger and bolder sequel with Zoolander 2, today brings word that singer-songwriter Justin Bieber has joined the sequel in an unspecified role.

The director took to Instagram to confirm the news, with Bieber donning his best Blue Steel impression and reaffirming his place through Twitter. Both parties threw up the above image alongside the casting announcement, hinting that Bieber could very well play a young protégé to Ben Stiller’s Derek Zoolander or, perhaps in the more likely scenario, a wet-behind-the-ears rival who just so happens to steal his jet-black do. We’ll likely learn more about Bieber’s role as the high-fashion sequel nears its release next year, »
