24: Legacy: Cancelled? No Season Two, at Least for Now

15 May 2017 2:58 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Fox has announced there will be no second season of 24: Legacy, at least for now. Deadline reports Fox CEO Gary Newman said that star Corey Hawkins' commitment to the Six Degrees of Separation revival on Broadway means he's unavailable. The thing is, had the network planned to renew the 24 sequel for a second season, Hawkins would have still been on contract, so it may be safe to consider 24: Legacy cancelled.24: Legacy stars Hawkins as Eric Carter, an Army Ranger who becomes the target of a terrorist organization. The show’s cast also includes Miranda Otto, Jimmy Smits, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky, Anna Diop, Ashley Thomas, Charlie Hofheimer, Coral Pena, and Sheila Vand. The good news is, the network is opened to future installments of the 24 franchise.Read More… »

“My whole career, in a way, has been very guided by almost like these weird coincidences,” Theo Rossi says, explaining to Et how so many experiences in his career have intertwined on his path to success.

Many fans know the 41-year-old self-described “character actor” from his breakout role as Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz on the hit motorcycle drama Sons of Anarchy. “I had to do three extra roles to get a SAG card,” Rossi says about his early career. “If there was ever a book written about going through the process, I’ve gone through the whole process, from having, like, one line on Malcolm in the Middle to doing a couple episodes of some small show …and then, obviously, my life changing with Sons of Anarchy.”

24: Legacy Season One Review

22 April 2017 8:55 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Ricky Church reviews the first season of 24: Legacy…

24: Legacy’s inaugural season ended earlier this week, bringing a close to former Army Ranger Eric Carter’s stressful day to stop a number of terrorist attacks. Legacy was a satisfying follow-up to the original series with some interesting new characters, but it relied way too much on the worn out tropes of 24 and didn’t take quite enough risks to truly differentiate itself from its parent series.

As the star of the show, Corey Hawkins did a great job throughout the season as Carter. He really got to make the character his own and show how he was a worthy successor to Jack Bauer. However, he only really started coming into his own further into the season. For the first few episodes, Carter was nearly a carbon copy of Bauer, making the same type of morally grey choices Bauer would have made. »

24: Legacy Season 1 Episode 11 Review – ’10:00 Pm – 11:00 Pm’

12 April 2017 3:20 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Ricky Church reviews the eleventh episode of 24: Legacy…

Though I’ve been slightly disappointed with the last couple episodes of 24: Legacy, its penultimate episode actually brought the quality up by several notches. ’10:00 Pm – 11:00 Pm’ focused a lot on the characters and story rather than pulse-pounding action, though the final few minutes provided quite a bit of tension.

Seeing Carter and Donovan together was actually an interesting pairing and gave viewers something different than we’ve seen previously in the season. Donovan was rightfully angry at Carter for going through with Rebecca’s plan, but the rest of their time together saw them actually bonding. It was interesting to see the parallel between them as John wants the same thing for Rebecca as Nicole wants for Carter: both their spouses to fully leave their dangerous profession behind only to realize they might just be made for it. »

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was originally conceived as an idea for TV

9 April 2017 1:25 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

During an interview with Comic Book Resources to promote the home entertainment release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Ilm’s John Knoll has revealed that he originally conceived the idea as a potential pitch for an episode of Star Wars: Underworld, the live-action Star Wars TV project that was in development at Lucasfilm following the release of the Prequel Trilogy.

“The first inklings of trying to tell that story happened in Summer 2003 when we were shooting on Episode III in Sydney. I had heard that Lucasfilm was developing stories for a potential live action TV series, and they were active in story development at the time. That was kind of intriguing, and I started thinking about, ‘What would be a fun thing to do as a one-hour episode as a live action Star Wars TV show?’ One thought was, ‘What about a Mission Impossible-style break-in into the most »

Rogue One Comic Shows a Different Side of the Story

6 April 2017 9:06 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Fans were finally able to pick up last year's blockbuster Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Blu-ray and DVD, following a successful theatrical release that took home $531.7 million domestic and 1.05 billion worldwide. Once the home video release was announced, many fans were disappointed that there would be no deleted scenes, with director Gareth Edwards explaining that there were never any full scenes cut from the film during post-production, only tiny parts of existing scenes. For those searching for more insight into this beloved story, Marvel debuted the first issue of their Rogue One comic book adaptation this week, which features several scenes that weren't featured in the movie.

Earlier this year, writer Jody Hauser revealed that some bits and pieces of footage that director Gareth Edwards didn't include in his film, will be used for this Rogue One comic, along with moments from the Rogue One novelization that will be included in this comic. »

Rogue One’s Jyn vs. Tie Fighter shot was only ever intended for the trailer

26 March 2017 11:18 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Among the many shots from the trailers for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that were absent from the final cut of the movie was the sequence of Jyn Erso staring down a Tie Fighter on the communication tower platform on Scarif.

If you were wondering how the scene would have played out pre-reshoots, director Gareth Edwards has the answer for you: it wouldn’t, as it was only ever intended to appear in the trailers.

“That’s going to have to remain a mystery,” Edwards tells EW. “It was something the marketing team fell in love with. We knew it would not be in the film. It’s one of those things where all the trailers are put together way before the film comes out. It wasn’t a specific part of the story.”

Hopefully that shot wasn’t the sole reason you made a trip to the cinema… »

Two more alternative endings for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story revealed

25 March 2017 12:15 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

This past week Rogue One: A Star Wars Story screenwriter Gary Whitta discussed a couple of alternative endings for December’s Anthology movie, including a “happy” ending where Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor survived, and another where Darth Vader killed Director Krennic. And now, speaking to io9, Ilm’s Chief Creative Officer John Knoll (the man responsible for the original pitch for Rogue One) has revealed another couple of endings that were under consideration.

The first ending would have seen Jyn and Cassian escaping Scarif and attempting to lose Darth Vader’s Star Destroyer by making multiple jumps through hyperspace, with Knoll explaining: “And the last jump they do, they try to get lost in the traffic that’s around Coruscant. It’s a giant cloud of ships. Ten-thousand ships coming and going and they’re trying to get lost in that traffic but they don’t make it. There »
