Still panicking that Desperate Houswives is losing Nicolette Sheridan? Fret no further! Ew.com’s scoop-meister Michael Ausiello is reporting that Drea De Matteo will be joining the show as a regular this season. Boffo.
In case you didn’t watch Sopranos: what the f**k are you? Stupid? Drea played the ballbuster Adriana La Cerva on the mob show, a wise girl with some moxie, y’know what I mean? This chick some hard core edge to her and I say step aside Nicolette, Drea will not only fill your shoes but she’ll shake things up in the process.
As for Drea’s character, Ausiello has a few details in that department as well. “De Matteo, who will be a series regular, will play the matriarch of a new Italian family. Casting is underway for her landscape designer husband and their tightly wound son.”

It has become a readable trait that producers decide to kill a character or two to bring a twist of story or when they meet a dead end for the character's development. Throughout this midseason, deaths in the finales seem to be a popular option among the writers, most probably due to recession.
Many are eliminating the secondary characters but not a few decide to let go the main character. But which has the biggest shock value? Find out.
#7 Jenny Schecter - "The L Word" Cause of Death: Drown
In a rather non-traditional pattern, "The L Word" presented death at the beginning of the season, tracing backwards to how Jenny's life was taken out of her, and most importantly, who contributed to it. Then, it was apparent in the season finale that all of the women had motives in killing Jenny but ultimately it came down to a form of suicide.

Proving that "Star Trek" is one of the highly anticipated summer movies this year, the Los Angeles premiere for the sci-fi film has been flooded with many Hollywood stars. Big screen actors, small screen stars and TV personalities were all spotted walking down the black carpet that was rolled down in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater on Thursday, April 30.

Chris Pine, Eric Bana, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Ben Cross, Bruce Greenwood, John Cho, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder were only a handful of the cast ensemble seen attending the premiere.

Nicollette Sheridan's departure from Desperate Housewives failed to pull in the ratings TV bosses had hoped for - the episode attracted 1.3 million less viewers than the season average.
Sheridan bowed out of her role as TV siren Edie Brit in the U.S. on Sunday, with her character being killed off in a dramatic car crash involving a power pole.
But the show's ratings were less than electrifying - ABC chiefs were stunned to find the star's climatic demise failed to persuade viewers to tune in.
The show's latest season has seen an average U.S. audience of 15.2 million, but Sheridan's exit only pulled in 13.9 million, according to Nielseon Media Research.
But network executives have put the lower figures down to a month-long break between original episodes.
Sheridan was cut from the show to cut costs, with show creator Marc Cherry admitting he had been put under "tremendous pressure" to scale down the series' budgets.
The move didn't sit well with the actress, who warned: "(Killing off Edie) was a risky decision that could have devastating ramifications."

Teri Hatcher has created a Desperate Housewives scrapbook for departing co-star Nicollette Sheridan. Earlier this year, Sheridan announced that she was leaving the ABC series at the end of season five. Praising the actress's performances as Edie Brit, Hatcher told Us Weekly: "She will definitely be missed. I think she is irreplaceable, but I do think that a neighbourhood, kind of like an ER, is a place where people rotate through. "There are so many great actors and so many storylines imaginable that there has to be a way to fill and surprise the audience with something new." Speaking about the scrapbook, she added: "I pulled pictures from all the different seasons and magazine (more)

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher made a scrapbook for recently departed co-star Nicollette Sheridan as a keepsake of their time working together.
Sheridan's final episode in which her character Edie Britt is killed off airs in America on Sunday night.
Her co-stars paid tribute her during a panel discussion about the show at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, where Hatcher revealed details of her gift.
According to People.com, the former Bond girl says, "I made a scrapbook as my sort of parting gift, and it reminded me of how great those two characters (Hatcher's Susan and Sheridan's Edie) were together."
The cast of Desperate Housewives has been surrounded by rumours of feuds between the female leads, but when the news of Sheridan's departure broke Hatcher scoffed at reports it was because her co-star was unpopular.
