Psych 5.16 "Yang 3 in 2D" Review

23 December 2010 7:29 AM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

And so season 5 comes to an end -- as does the Yang arc that has spread over the last 2 finales. We get the return of a whole rogue's gallery of special guests, a couple of big revelations, and more movie references than you can shake a stick at. Yep, it's a Psych season finale all right.

If you do, you're still waiting for the big twist, and you know when it does come it should mean trouble for our beloved characters, so you're still on the edge of your seat. In »

"Psych's" longest recurring mystery, the pop-culture-referencing "Yin" serial killer, comes to close with the series Dec. 22 Season 5 finale, "Yang 3 in 2D." Though we don't know much about the latest installment, we do know that it's the last.

Zap2it recently spoke with star James Roday, and in addition to dropping a few nuggets about the episode, he forecasts the future of Shawn and Juliet (Maggie Lawson) in the already-ordered Season 6.

"It's hard to tease much in the episode," Roday tells Zap2it. "It's like picking out one of the blocks in Jenga. We do answer everything and it all comes out in the wash. We wrote it and meant for it to be the true finale in the trilogy. We finally show everyone who Yin is, and that's pretty powerful."

He's much more candid about the guest stars, which include Cybill Shepherd (Shawn's mother, Madeleine), Jimmy Simpson (the deceased Mary), Ally Sheedy (Mr. »

Blu-Ray Review: Amazing Criterion Box Set of ‘America Lost and Found: The Bbs Story’

6 December 2010 12:15 PM, PST | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Bbs Productions changed cinema. As the sixties were coming to a close, they jumped on the revolutionary bandwagon and took the cultural zeitgeist to the cinema. With a few other visionaries, they ushered in the most important era of film history and several of their best works have been collected in the amazing Criterion box “America Lost and Found: The Bbs Story.”

Blu-Ray Rating: 5.0/5.0

Bob Rafelson, Bert Schneider, and Steve Blauner (their first initials being Bbs) had created the pop band The Monkees and used that money to found Bbs Productions, a company that thrived on community and creativity. Like any production company, they weren’t all gems but a few definitely were, including some of the most influential works of the era. All seven films »
