Production commences this week on About a Boy director Paul Weitz’s dramedy Admission. Tina Fey stars as an admissions officer at Princeton University whose life is thrown for a curve when she runs into an old friend (Paul Rudd) while visiting an experimental New Hampshire high school. The full synopsis, included in the press release, elaborates a bit more on the plot of the dramedy and I can assure you that it’s much more than a one-note romantic comedy. Additionally, the announcement notes that Lily Tomlin has joined the cast that also includes Gloria Reueben, Wallace Shawn, and Michael Sheen. I’m a big fan of About a Boy, and I’m eager to see the chemistry between Fey and Rudd. Both are undeniable comedic talents, but Rudd has more experience on the drama side of things so it’ll be interesting to see Fey get a bit more serious. »

Tina Fey and Paul Rudd will topline Admission about the life of a Princeton admissions counselor. The admissions counselor (Fey) decides she needs to shake up her boring life and two things happen: one is when she meets an attractive potential student who is not really Princeton material (Nat Wolff of "The Naked Brothers Band") and another is when she starts crushing on a former classmate and teacher at an alternative high school (Rudd). One big problem is that she already has a boyfriend Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga movies). Gloria Reuben ("ER") plays another admissions counselor trying to get Fey's job. Lily Tomlin (The Pink Panther 2, "The Magic School Bus") and Wallace Shawn (The Princess Bride, Toy Story movies) also costar in the comedy. Paul Weitz (Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant) is directing from a script by Karen Croner for Focus Features.

Richard Ayoade's next project, a take on Dostoyevsky's doppelganger novella The Double, already had Jesse Eisenberg attached in the title role(s). It now has a full cast in place and a start date too. Shooting will commence on May 20 in London, with Eisenberg joined by James Fox, Wallace Shawn and Submarine pair Noah Taylor and Yasmin Paige. Alice In Wonderland's Mia Wasikowska is also on board but won't be clambering back into period garb: Ayoade is putting a modern spin on the book's 1840s setting, doing for Dostoyevsky what Cold Souls did for his compatriot Chekhov. That much you may already know, but it's good to see that Ayoade's Hollywood duties on Akiva Schaffer's The Watch (formerly Neighborhood Watch) haven't kept him from the important business of nuggeting out a second directorial effort of his own.The Double will see Eisenberg follow in the footsteps »

The cost of power is often steep. Episode six of this second season of "Game of Thrones" emphasizes this on a near continual basis, and it's an effective technique overall. However, we start this particular episode with an idiot. Hi, Theon (Alfie Allen)! While Joffrey is tougher to watch, Theon is neck-and-neck when it comes to overall annoyance level, if only because Joffrey has never pretended to be loyal to anything other than his sadistic whims. Theon makes decisions the way one orders pizza -- without much thought and adding up to little material gain. Regardless, Theon's schemes pay off and he's the new Lord of Winterfell. It's no happy occurrence, with one blunder after another coming from the new boss. Then we're off to the great white north to learn lessons about wildlings, though thankfully this lesson involves a great new character in the form of Ygritte (Rose Leslie »

I.ll probably come away as pretty clueless but there were some things that struck me when watching the fledgling effort from Alicia Silverstone. Fans of the actress or the film will be pleased, but the age group the film was originally made for must be confused if they watched it today. Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is the daughter of a wealthy lawyer (Dan Hedaya) and the most popular and stylish girl at high school. She cruises the halls with her best friend Dionne (Stacey Dash) and the social strata of her classmates. Being the daughter of a lawyer she considers her grades negotiable. She sets about to set up her teachers Mr. Hall (Wallace Shawn) and Miss Geist (Twink »

The Martin Scorsese who put out The Last Temptation of Christ is not the Martin Scorsese we know today. He had yet to make Goodfellas, and though Raging Bull netted Robert De Niro an Oscar, Scorsese spent much of the 1980’s in the wilderness, making niche films which were considered disappointments, only to secure financing through directing a for-hire hit movie (The Color of Money). Christ was most notable for the controversy it engendered, as it was protested by a number of religious groups, which kept it out of most big chain theaters. Vanya of 42nd Street is a project that transcends its set-up, and acts as a follow-up to Louis Malle’s My Dinner with Andre. It reunited Andre Gregory and Wallace Shawn with a cast (that includes Julianne Moore) that performed Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya on the fly for years. Both have come out from Criterion on Blu-ray, »

Jane Austen might never have imagined that her 1816 novel Emma could be turned into a fresh and satirical look at ultra-rich teenagers in a Beverly Hills high school. Amazingly, it’s nearly 17 years since director Amy Heckerling’s Clueless reached our cinema screens. An updated retelling of Jane Austin’s Emma, the much beloved and hilarious film, made a star of a young Alicia Silverstone in the lead role of Cher Horowitz.
Well fans can rejoice that Silverstone, whose promising career really sank after the abomination that was Batman & Robin, has reunited with director Heckerling for comic-horror Vamps. News also comes that the film has been picked up for North American distribution by Anchor Bay.
Vamps will centre on the romantic exploits of a pair of female vampires, played by Silverstone and former Breaking Bad beauty Krysten Ritter, in modern-day New York. The familiar looking cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, Wallace Shawn, Malcolm McDowell, Kristen Johnston and Richard Lewis.
There is currently no release date set for either the UK or Us, but fans of Clueless (a comedy »

Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and Elton (Jeremy Sisto) may have not ended up together in the 1995 teen classic "Clueless," but nearly two decades later, the actors who played them are falling head over heels for each other.
The two reunite on ABC's freshman comedy "Suburgatory" (Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. Et) and Silverstone told HuffPost TV that she and Sisto picked up right where they left off.
"The first day we saw each other, we just had so much fun together," Silverstone said via phone.
Sisto -- who played the biggest snob at "Clueless'" fictional Beverly Hills high school -- now stars on "Suburgatory" as George, a single dad who moves from New York to the suburbs with his teen daughter Tessa (Jane Levy). On this week's episode, entitled "Entering Eden," George finds himself immediately attracted to Silverstone's very health-conscious character Eden at the Chatswin Farmer's Market.

Anchor Bay Films have acquired the North American distribution rights to Amy Heckerling's ('Clueless') new vampiric comedy 'Vamps'. Anchor Bay are aiming for a Halloween-timed release for the new feature which stars the gorgeous Alicia Silverstone (below) and Krysten Ritter. 'Vamps' also stars Sigourney Weaver ('Aliens', 'Red Lights'), Richard Lewis ('Curb Your Enthusiasm'), Malcolm McDowell ('Halloween') and Wallace Shawn ('Toy Story').
