Tracy Dawn Scoggins was born and raised in Dickinson, Texas. At age 16, she enrolled in Southwest Texas State, where she studied speech communications and physical education. After leaving college, she was hired by the Elite Modeling Agency and sent to New York City. After one year, she continued her modeling career with assignments in Italy, France and Germany. Later, she decided to return to the United States to study acting. She attended the Wynn Handman Studio and the Herbert Berghof Studio -- both well-known acting schools. After completing her training, she moved to Hollywood where she has become internationally known as a television and movie star. Today, she resides in Los Angeles, California and spends her free time developing workout videos, cycle riding, swimming and jogging.

Just barely missed qualifying for the 1980 US Olympic diving team.
Was working as a Physical Education teacher when she was offered a modeling career, which led her to acting.
She had a recording deal in France singing in an all girl rock 'n' roll group called Phantasm. They toured in France and did a couple of really early music videos.
She has made guest appearances on two different series in which one of the main characters was a shapeshifter: Manimal (1983) and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993).
The only child of two attorneys who were also both athletes. Her mother was ranked #1 in the United States in the US Senior Women's Tennis Association in 2007, and her father was a Golden Gloves Boxer.
Auditioned for the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager (1995), which went to Kate Mulgrew.
Her many accents began as a child when she made all her Barbie dolls UN Ambassadors from around the world with her Mother making the appropriate costumes. She learned them by watching TV shows with foreign characters and interviews with world leaders. Upon coming to Hollywood she got to work with some of her role models.
Has long been a huge Sci Fi fan and is on record often citing Neil Gaiman as her favorite author.
Tracy credits listening to her criminal attorney father's jury summations at the family breakfast table for inciting a drive toward a career in drama.
She spent three years studying acting in New York at some of the most highly regarded schools; Herbert Berghof Acting Studio, Wenn Handmann's American Acting Academy, but she call's "Smith & Smith" her most helpful film acting mentors. That would be Kurtwood Smith with whom she did her first television series, and Lane Smith who portrayed Perry White on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
