Friends Creator Says Stars' $1 Million Salaries Were "Ridiculous"

30 July 2015 1:16 PM, PDT | Us Weekly | See recent Us Weekly news »

No take-backs! In the early 2000s, the stars of Friends famously negotiated their way to salaries of $1 million per episode each, but Marta Kauffman, one of the show's creators, questioned the totals in a recent interview. "A million dollars an episode is kinda ridiculous," Kauffman said on a panel at the TCA Summer Press Tour. "Let's be honest, that's a lot of money." Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer united to nab the then unheard-of salaries, riding the success of [...] »

4 Times Ross Got High on "Friends"

30 June 2015 3:45 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

In the infamous Friends episode, “The One Where Ross Got High," Ross has to confess to his parents—in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner—that he smoked pot in high school.  After watching this episode for the one-billionth time, it occurred to me that there are actually a good handful of times throughout the ten seasons of Friends where we get the privilege of seeing Ross under the influence. Here are the four times Ross got f---ed up: 1.The One Where Nana Dies Twice When Ross and Monica’s grandmother passes away, the gang goes to her funeral. Ross walks into an open grave and lands on his back. Ross' mom gives him her pain killers (presumed to be Vicodin or another opiate), and he gets very, very messed up on them.   2.The One With Ross’ Sandwich After his second marriage fails (virtually as soon as it starts), Ross is on edge. »

Is Episodes the One Where We Still Get To Enjoy Friends-style Sitcom Fun?

30 June 2015 7:32 AM, PDT | The Guardian - TV News | See recent The Guardian - TV News news »

Now in its fourth series, the Anglo-American show-within-a-show has got looser, broader, dafter, ruder – and as unmissable as Matt LeBlanc’s greatest hit

We’ll probably never get a Friends reunion, mainly because the cast are all mind-bogglingly rich, and they’re all doing pretty well for themselves anyway.

Of course, nobody will ever match the divine ascendance of Lisa Kudrow (everyone loves The Comeback, but if you haven’t binged on Web Therapy yet, then what is wrong with you?). David Schwimmer has been having a dignified time of it on Broadway and as a director. Matthew Perry has fun lurching from cancelled show to cancelled show, picking righteous fights with Peter Hitchens as he goes; Courteney Cox enjoys median success with Cougar Town; and Jennifer Aniston has forged a stellar career as a professional Jennifer Aniston.

This just in: Sarah Paulson is the cutest person on the planet. She's also just like us, at least in terms of girl crushes. With American Crime Story, Paulson has a tough job ahead of her. Not only is she tasked with playing a real, living person, but also a person who Tina Fey has already played/parodied perfectly on Netflix's The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.   The FX drama, from executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, follows the infamous murder trial of O.J. Simpson. Paulson plays prosecutor Marcia Clark, and is joined by a cast that includes Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta, David Schwimmer, and Selma Blair, just to name a few.   Fey's hysterical portrayal of a »

Oh. My. Gaaaaawwwwwdddddd. Paul McCartney almost guest starred on Friends. This is not a drill. Paul McCartney. From The Beatles. Almost guest starred. On Friends! This is brand new information! When the iconic sitcom's Emmy-nominated casting director Leslie Litt spoke to the Huffington Post, she revealed that she had tried extremely hard to get The Beatles musician to come on the show for a very specific role. Remember the one with the wedding in London? You know, that disastrous ceremony where Ross (David Schwimmer) said his lobster Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) name instead of his bride Emily's (Helen Baxendale) name?
