Ryan Murphy on Sterling K. Brown: ‘This Guy Is, Like, Marlon Brando Good’
Sterling K. Brown graduated to superstar status after his Emmy-winning turn as Christopher Darden on “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.” Executive producer and director Ryan Murphy remains tight with the star, who has even been advising him recently on how to live a vegan lifestyle.

Brown is busy starring in “This Is Us,” but the two are already discussing ways to work together again. “We’ve talked a lot about it,” Murphy said. “I’m trying to figure out a way to give America what they want, and reunite Sterling and Sarah Paulson. I would love for him to be a part of ‘Five Days at Memorial’ [the Hurricane Katrina-themed “American Crime Story” installment] that we’re doing. I always want to work with Sterling. I’m a busy guy, but he’s just as busy as hell. How are we gonna make it work? We will. We had a really great director/actor

How Ross From 'Friends' Predicted 'Black Mirror's' San Junipero

Sorry, Charlie Brooker, it looks like Ross Geller was hip to the concept of San Junipero back in 1999.

In a new crossover ad from Netflix, titled "The One Where Ross Invents San Junipero," Ross (David Schwimmer) is seen talking to Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) in the iconic Friends apartment.

"By the year 2030, there will be computers that can carry out the same amount of functions as an actual human brain," explains Ross, recounting a mind-blowing idea from a book he just read. "So, theoretically, you could download your thoughts and memories into this computer and live forever as a...

‘Drop The Mic’ Trading Joy, Not Insults, Creative Team Argues With TV Critic – TCA

Drop The Mic, which TBS debuts in the fall, had a much faster path from Late Late Show segment to series than did Carpool Karaoke, creators told TV critics at TCA. ‘Homecoming’ Creator Eli Horowitz on Turning the Hit Podcast Into a TV Show and Starting Over in Season 2

  • Indiewire
One of things that makes “Homecoming” great is what it can’t show you.

As one of the driving creative forces behind the most popular scripted series in podcasting, Eli Horowitz explains that it took a while to figure out how to make that limitation work to his advantage. Horowitz created “Homecoming” alongside Micah Bloomberg, with whom he also wrote and directs every episode of the series. As the show releases the premiere of its second season on Wednesday, he thinks they’ve finally started to figure out how this world operates.

“In audio, certain things are harder: establishing the setting, establishing who’s talking, giving each scene its own texture,” Horowitz said, in a recent IndieWire interview. “At first those seem like obstacles or limitations: chores you have to do. What we’re starting to get better at is using them as creative prompts. How can set this in

Wide Range of Supporting Actors Vying for Emmy Gold in Miniseries/TV Movie Category

Wide Range of Supporting Actors Vying for Emmy Gold in Miniseries/TV Movie Category
Who says Emmy voters can’t be full of surprises?

For proof, just look at last year’s supporting actor in a limited series race. Hollywood heavies including John Travolta and David Schwimmer, both from FX’s “The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” and Hugh Laurie from AMC’s “The Night Manager” were nominated for that category’s top honor. And who took home the prize? A previously unknown talent by the name of Sterling K. Brown, who played the much more mild-mannered Christopher Darden in the sea of extreme personalities that made up “People v. O.J.”

This year, however, it seems as if just about everyone eligible for this category or its supporting actress companion entry is a brand name and/or a repeat nominee.

There are some actors who could land their first Emmy nom. “I don’t really think about TV versus film or theater or the size of the

Matthew Perry Talks ‘Friends’ Residual Checks, Reveals Which Chandler Storyline He Axed
It pays to be on one of the biggest sitcoms of all time! Matthew Perry visited Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday, where a fan called in and asked the actor about his Friends residual checks.

“I get a little something and I go, ‘Hey, that’s nice!’” Perry said elusively. “It’s a really great job I had… I started the job when I was 24. It was amazing. I had the job from 24 to 34, I’ll never have a job like that ever again.”

The Friends talk continued when Perry played “Plead the Fifth.” Right out of the gate, the 47-year-old actor, who played Chandler Bing on the NBC sitcom, pleaded the fifth when asked to play “Shag, Marry, Kill” with his three female Friends co-stars.
