All futures releases will be in 3-D, a mandate put forth by Katzenberg who continues to be a strong proponent of the format. The conversion adds around $15 million to the budget.

And here we come to the tricksy middle ground of my green light/yellow light/red light ratings scale: When I saw Nothing But the Truth last year, it was slated for theatrical release, and would have garnered a yellow-light/wait-for-dvd rating. Then the film became a casualty of distributor Yari Film Group’s financial woes and subsequent bankruptcy, never got its theatrical release, and went straight to DVD last week. Can I recommend you check it out on DVD? Yes... but the green-on-dvd rating still comes with caveats. It’s hard to put a finger on anything actually wrong with this earnest drama of politics, conscience, and democratic ideals -- and I must emphasize that I like film critic-turned-filmmaker Rod Lurie (Resurrecting the Champ) not just because he’s one of my own but for his storytelling sincerity and dedication -- but it’s equally difficult to embrace it enthusiastically,

Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston still considers her former Friends co-stars "family" - even though the group rarely has time to meet up.
The 40-year-old has remained good friends with Courteney Cox since the comedy series ended in 2004 and is godmother to her four-year-old daughter, Coco.
Aniston admits she doesn't have time to meet up with the other castmates - David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow - but still looks on them all as pals.
She says, "You have grand plans, like 'We'll have dinner once a month.' And then, life happens; times change. It leaves me feeling sort of melancholy but, you know, something like that will always be there.
"We were as close as a family could ever be during those 10 years. They will always be my family, whether we are in the same room and talking regularly or not. We grew up together."

Dreamworks tends to make high quality animated films. Their big smash success, Shrek, had a genuinely interesting take on fairy tales. Capitalizing on that success Dreamworks cranked out one animated film after another - each of them with great animation and a penchant for pop culture jokes. Unfortunately, that gets old. Even Madagascar, which was a definite step away from typical Dreamworks fare, didn't quite break the mold. However, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa changes that and marks Dreamworks' first great movie since Shrek.
Marooned in Madagascar after the events of the first movie - Alex (Stiller), Marty (Rock), Melman (Schwimmer) and Gloria (Pinkett Smith) slingshot themselves onto the African mainland "en route" back to New York. The sequel does away with the "fish out of water" theme that carried the entire first film and spends more time developing the characters on an individual basis.

Blu-Ray Rating: 4.0/5.0 Chicago – The DreamWorks Blu-Ray releases for “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” “Kung Fu Panda,” and “Transformers” are some of the most technically remarkable titles on the next-gen format and you can now add “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” to the list of Blu-Ray discs that you can use to show off your HD TV and surround sound system. The movie is far from great, but the Blu-Ray is one of the best of the year to date.
The Blu-Ray menu for “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” features King Julien (Sacha Baron Cohen) singing “Move It, Move It” while the four lead characters spastically dance. If you tap your feet or smile, “Escape 2 Africa” is the movie for you. If the song makes you want to shoot your television, then you’re not ready for this over-the-top, shticky comedy that often feels like a bit “2 much 2 take”.

I did not enjoy the original Madagascar and was shocked when it went on to make over $530 million worldwide. I gave it a "D-" and even said it would "under perform". What did I know? Flash forward three years later and I thought Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa was much better than the original and while it did manage to earn over $570 million worldwide I always got the feeling most people didn't enjoy it as much as the original. I can't explain why this is, but I can say I think this is a good animated film and should you have little kids or be an animated film fanatic this will serve as a worthy addition to your collection. With the first film I felt the only redeeming value were the Penguins as they served as the comic relief and the only fun part of the film that felt at all original.

Five years ago, NBC and television viewers said goodbye to Friends after 10 seasons and 236 episodes. Before the TV show's last episode even aired, rumors began swirling about possible reunions. While the public would generally like to see one, the Friends cast haven't exactly expressed excitement about returning to Central Perk.
The ladies and gents seem to be pretty divided on their willingness to revive their sitcom characters. David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc haven't expressed any interest while Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox Arquette and Jennifer Aniston are open to doing one if the venue and script feels right.
David Schwimmer has said outright that he doesn't have interest in doing a Friends reunion. Matthew Perry thinks it's unlikely to happen any time soon, no sooner than 10 or 20 years. Matt LeBlanc's Joey spin-off was skewered by critics and was cancelled after two seasons. He now concentrates on his own production company,

This week's DVD world tour offers a little bit of a lot. I would say a little bit of everything, but it does lean rather on the comedy side of the spectrum this time around. But if you need something to keep the kids occupied, you're covered, if you're just out of college and nobody understands you, there's a comedy for you this week, and there's stuff for grownups as well as Kevin Smith fans, which aren't necessarily the same thing. Oh, and racial tensions in the south. Always a good time there...
