Exclusive: 'Nikita' Star Shane West Talks Surprising Double-Death Finale

16 May 2012 6:03 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

It's been a rollercoaster year for The CW's "Nikita" (Fridays at 8 p.m. Et). Despite a consistently compelling second season, the cerebral action series was considered to be a long shot for renewal right up until last week's announcement of a Season 3 pick-up.

Audiences have seen the show evolve in countless ways since it first premiered, but one of the biggest changes this season involved the expansion of what the cast has dubbed "Team Nikita," originally encompassing the core trio of Nikita (Maggie Q), Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) and Michael (Shane West), who banded together to take down Division, the oppressive black ops agency that trained them. Last year, the odds seemed firmly stacked against our favorite rogue agents, but thanks to the addition of Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford), Sean (Dillon Casey), Ryan (Noah Bean) and occasionally Owen (Devon Sawa), "Nikita's" merry band of rebels has grown into a force to »

"Terminator: Rise of the Machines" actor Nick Stahl has been reported missing. Los Angeles law enforcement officials confirmed to TMZ that Stahl's wife, Rose Murphy, reported her husband missing on Monday, saying that the last time she saw the 32-year-old was on May 9.

Sources told the website that Stahl had been displaying some erratic behavior recently and was allegedly spending time in the Skid Row area of Los Angeles. The source also expressed concern that the actor might have become involved in some questionable activities.

This is not the first time, however, that those close to the actor have expressed concern over his well-being. Stahl's wife filed papers with the La County Superior Court back in February asking a judge to »

Exclusive: Devon Sawa Talks Philly Kid, Parking Tickets and Mma

11 May 2012 5:38 AM, PDT | ShockYa | See recent ShockYa news »

At first, Devon Sawa is a bit frazzled. The 33-year-old actor has just returned to find a parking ticket on his car. Still, shaking off the disappointment (“If it’s the worst thing that happens to me all day, I’m Ok with that”), Sawa is enthusiastic when it comes to the subject of his latest movie, “Philly Kid.” Releasing this week in theaters and on VOD from After Dark Films, the movie co-stars Sawa as Jake, the pal of a former Ncaa champion wrestler recently paroled from prison, Dylan (Wes Chatham), whose unsavory connections lead his friend into a series of brutal cage fights. The Sibling is Out (of the Grave) for Revenge

8 May 2012 11:56 AM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

There are times when being an only child really doesn't seem too bad. Especially when those little brothers and sisters we have spend their time generally annoying us by breaking our things, getting us in trouble, going on a murderous revenge-fueled rampage...

That seems to be the case with Matt Orlando's new film for Archstone Distribution, The Sibling. The flick, which is now in post-production and flying under the radar, stars Mischa Barton, Devon Sawa, and Michael Clarke Duncan. Though no official synopsis is available at press time, a glance at the trailer below reveals possible ghosts, exhumed graves, bullies, violence, slaughtered pigs, and the scariest looking angry dad we've ever seen!

This week's new films

Damsels In Distress (12A)

(Whit Stillman, 2011, Us) Greta Gerwig, Analeigh Tipton, Adam Brody, Ryan Metcalf, Megalyn Echikunwoke. 99 mins

Stillman casts a wry eye across the college campus, and settles on Gerwig's clique of preppy girls who confuse charity with condescension. The result is distinctively articulate, witty, gently surreal and hilariously sarcastic. But as well as parodying these misguided teens, Stillman clearly has great sympathy for them. It's good to have him back.

Avengers Assemble (12A)

(Joss Whedon, 2012, Us) Samuel L Jackson, Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson. 142 mins

Considering the lack of leeway Whedon had with this superhero juggernaut, he pulls off a remarkable feat, keeping all the plates spinning with as much irony as he can get away with. It descends into a numbing effects orgy, but it's fast and fun along the way.

Albert Nobbs (15)

(Rodrigo García, 2011, UK/Ire) Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska. 113 mins

’388 Arletta Avenue’ starring Nick Stahl – trailer review

388 Arletta Avenue

Directed by: Randall Cole

Starring: Nick Stahl, Mia Kirshner, Devon Sawa

Rating: Not Yet Rated

Release Date: May 15, 2012

Trailer Score: 7/10

Thoughts by Tsr: I wasn’t expecting much from this trailer for 388 Arletta Avenue. I’m starting to get tired of found footage, so this one was at a bit of a disadvantage from the start. Surprisingly, it overcame that hurdle to the point where I’m fairly interested in checking it out. It’s probably not going to reinvigorate my interest in found footage, but it does look just interesting enough for me to give it a chance.

It helps that it doesn’t look exactly like other films of the subgenre. A lot of those are plagued with being too well shot, something that is not true for this film. That may sound like a complaint, but it actually makes the film more appealing to me. »

After Dark Action Series Launches with New Films from Van Damme, Caviezel and Lundgren

3 April 2012 7:05 AM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

After Dark Films, the same folks who bring us the After Dark Horrorfest every year, are about to branch out with another closely related genre: action. This week, in partnership with Dark Castle Home Entertainment, they have announced After Dark Action, a series of "five original, adrenaline-pumping films" that will be released simultaneously on demand and in select theatres. The movies feature an impressive line-up of stars that include Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Peter Weller, James Caviezel, Harold Perrineau, Scott Adkins and Christian Slater. It certainly sounds promising, but will these movies be any better than the direct-to-video drivel that a lot of these guys have been starring in over the past decade? The full list of films is as follows: Transit – Starring James Caviezel, James Frain, Elizabeth Rohm, Harold Perrineau and Sterling Knight; and directed by Antonio Negret and written by Michael Gilvary Dragon Eyes – Starring Jean Claude Van Damme, »
