For some of the oldsters out there they may recall the 1973 Gamble & Huff-produced R&B hit single “I’ll Always Love My Mama” by the musical group The Intruders. This musical anthem was certainly a lyrical tribute to caring mothers and how their sacrifices shaped our childhood and adulthood. This finger-snapping song definitely captured the spirit of motherly guidance.
Naturally film has had its share of depicting motherhood over the decades. In fact, mothers of all types are presented before our eyes in packages of being nurturing, notorious, nutty, naive and nonsensical. However, there is something so special about the mother-son relationship that rivals the father-daughter dynamic. We have our share of proud Mama’s boys out there roaming about in society.
In Mama’s Boy: The Top 10 Mother-Son Combos in Movies we will examine some of the big screen bonds that have been celebrated between the Mommy Dearests »

The biggest story of the year broke this past weekend when director Richard Donner confirmed that he is moving forward on The Goonies 2 with the entire cast (except for Anne Ramsey and John Matuszak, aka Sloth, R.I.P.) returning to reprise their roles. Was this for real? Or was Richard Donner just continuing to fan the flames of a pipedream that has long been discussed at Warner Bros.? According to original star Corey Feldman, a sequel is most certainly in the works. But will it happen?
Corey Feldman is quite an active voice on Twitter, and confirmed yesterday that director Richard Donner had approached him about The Goonies 2 a few months ago. Of course our beloved Felddog wants to return, but he's heard this story before. Donner has been threatening to make this follow-up for years, and this time, he claims to have Steven Spielberg coming along as an executive producer, »
“Heyyy Yooou Guuuuys!!!!”
According to director Richard Donner- the man who brought us Superman: The Movie, the Lethal Weapon series, The Omen, and- of course- The Goonies- a sequel to the 1985 classic in the works. Of course, he can probably form a tag team with Dan Aykroyd, because both have had a penchant for drumming up interest for sequels to Goonies and Ghostbusters, respectively, for many years now. It was recently announced Akyroyd’s pipe dream will become a reality soon, and now Donner seems dead serious about his Goonies sequel.
Unprovoked, and unannounced, while being hounded by a TMZ camera man, he volunteered the following information:
He was asked if he’d ever make a comic book movie- since he’s the man that pioneered the genre back in 1978- and he bluntly said, “If you call ‘Goonies’ a comic book.” When the photographer acts surprised, Donner- again- blankly states, »

TMZ was with Donner in person when he confirmed they are doing a sequel. Asked if any of the original film's stars are coming back, he said "hopefully all of them".
Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton, Jonathan Ke Quan, Kerri Green, Jeff Cohen, Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano starred in the original about a group of kids set out on an adventure in search of pirate treasure that could save their homes from foreclosure.
Two of the original cast members, Anne Ramsey (Mama Fratelli) and John Matuszak (Sloth) have since passed away. Brolin, Astin, Plimpton, Davi and Pantoliano are all still busy working actors to this day. Green only occasionally acts and now produces films as well, Cohen has become an entertainment lawyer, and »

The 2014 Academy Awards are right around the corner, and we couldn't help but notice that there's not one, but two women nominated for playing our favorite kind of Oscar–nominated role: the brash, tough-talking older matriarch, a role we affectionately call "the Mema," after Michael "The Angry Ginger" Kittrell's grandmother from Reelz's reality series Hollywood Hillbillies. Of course, a "Mema" isn't nominated every year, but with Jane Squibb from Nebraska and Meryl Streep from August: Osage County both being nominated in a "Mema" role, we thought we'd share some of our favorites "Mema" nominations in advance of this weekend's telecast.
