Scream Factory shows Mick Garris Some Love When Psycho IV: The Beginning Hits DVD/Bluray This August!!

19 July 2016 2:05 PM, PDT | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

AMC’s Bates Motel has done a hell of a job giving viewers a fresh, new take on the horror classic Psycho and it’s sometimes protagonist/antagonist, Norman Bates. A lot of newer fans of the series have voiced their opinions on how interesting it is to see the genesis of why Norman became what he eventually became: a murderer. Well, as most horror fans know, back in 1990, the Showtime network premiered a made for TV film called Psycho IV: The Beginning. Both a prequel and a sequel, the timeline within the film goes back and forth between Norman being verbally abused by his mother, some interesting sexual tension between them and current day Norman, out of jail and attempting to live a typical married life. I’ve always had a soft spot for Psycho IV, and with the announcement of Scream Factory’s August 23rd DVD/Bluray release, »

If this Waller promo is any indication, Viola Davis will steal ‘Suicide Squad’

18 July 2016 3:08 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Viola Davis plays a tough, capable, and sometimes vicious lawyer in ABC's How to Get Away with Murder and my god, the rest of the Suicide Squad cast better be bringing their A-game because she looks to be killing it as Amanda Waller too. The Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated and Tony and Emmy award-winning actor joins a list of tremendous talent who've played DC Comics' ruthless government agent - C.C.H. Pounder, Pam Grier, and Angela Bassett, just to name a few. Imdb.com got an exclusive video featuring Davis' work in the upcoming film that gives us the most we've seen of the character so far. And here's another highlight video from Warner Bros. with even more Waller. Including her wielding a machine gun. You do not mess with Amanda Waller. »

DVD Review – NCIS: New Orleans Season 1

17 February 2016 3:41 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

NCIS: New Orleans – Season 1

Starring Scott Bakula, Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan, Rob Kerkovich and C.C.H. Pounder.

Synopsis:

All the action, drama and humour of NCIS in a colourful new city that harbours a dark side. NCIS: New Orleans, a spin-off, features Scott Bakula as the head of a dedicated team of Navy investigators in the Big Easy. With its rich setting of music, drinking and debauchery, New Orleans is a magnet for military personnel on leave. And with fun comes trouble, which is when this team is at its best.

NCIS has been around for a while. What has kept it going for in excess of eleven seasons is commitment to formula. In the words of the network, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Something which has seen NCIS polished down to a diamond.

With this latest incarnation veteran Mark Harmon heads down to New Orleans in an opening two-part episode. »

‘NCIS New Orleans: The Complete First Season’ DVD Review

12 February 2016 8:26 AM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

The second spin-off from NCIS (and technically the third from Jag – which is where the original NCIS series was spun out of), NCIS New Orleans is a very different beast to its predecessors. Whereas the first show was a stoic, patriotic series; and the second was more action and comedy orientated; this third entry in the franchise takes things a more quirky and offbeat direction.

Set in New Orleans the show uses its new location to create a different feel straight away. The fact that Scott Bakula is heading the team as Dwayne Pride adds a certain edge to it. Fans of cult television shows will always know him for Quantum Leap, and he manages to bring attention to the show just from that. To be fair though there is much more to NCIS New Orleans to keep people invested, including another interesting cast choice: Lucas Black, known to fans »

Countdown to Batman v Superman – Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

11 February 2016 12:00 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Ricky Church continues his countdown to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Superman/Batman: Public Enemies…

What could be worse than your mortal enemy running a billion dollar company, having infinite resources to work on your doom? How about that same mortal enemy being President of the United States.

In the early 00s, Lex Luthor ran for the country’s highest political office and surprisingly won, giving him complete control over the American government and manipulated events to make him look like a good president. Superman and Batman made a deal with each other that they wouldn’t forcefully remove Lex from office until he did something to force their hand. That time came in the storyline Public Enemies, the opening arc to the Superman/Batman title by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness.

30 Stars You Forgot Appeared On The X-Files

Fox

The list of guest stars appearing across nine seasons and two movies of The X-Files is long and distinguished: Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, and Bryan Cranston all appeared on the show, and would later work together under Vince Gilligan (who wrote and produced for The X-Files) on his hit AMC series Breaking Bad. Jane Lynch would appear, and later hit it big on Glee. Lucy Liu, Ryan Reynolds, Shia LeBeouf, Jack Black, and Seth Green all made appearances on the show early in their careers.

Plenty of established actors showed up as well: Peter Boyle won an Emmy for his role in Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose, while Cch Pounder was nominated for one for her appearance in Duane Barry from the show’s second season. Ed Asner, Lily Tomlin, and Gary Shandling all appeared on the series, and even Billy Connolly turned up in the show’s second feature film, »
