Ghostbusters, 2016.

Directed by Paul Feig.

Starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams, Cecily Strong, Neil Casey, Elizabeth Perkins, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts

Ssynopsis:

Following a ghost invasion of Manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat.

It is completely ridiculous that the gender politics controversy surrounding Paul Feig’s (Spy, The Heat, and Bridesmaids) Ghostbusters reboot has spiraled out of control to the point where I must begin my review by saying up front that while I do not particularly think this film is great, I am not misogynistic or sexist. Some of my most highly praised movies of last year here starred women (Brie Larson gave the best acting achievement of 2015 in the emotionally charged Room, »

Second Opinion – Ghostbusters (2016)

Ghostbusters, 2016.

Directed by Paul Feig.

Synopsis:

A group of scientists team up to battle paranormal entities that are appearing all our New York.

(Spoilers!)

Even though I was one of the large (record-breaking) number of people who ‘disliked’ this film’s first theatrical trailer when it appeared on YouTube, I can assure you it was not for misogynistic reasons. When this project was announced, the dread I felt wasn’t because it was a female-driven reboot, it was because I love the 1984 original so much I would have been against anyone remaking it, full stop – I’ll admit, the fact that it was being made by the team behind Bridesmaids (which, along with Frozen, gets »

Movie Review – Ghostbusters (2016) – “Bill Murray doesn’t want to be there…a missed opportunity”

Ghostbusters (2016).

Directed by Paul Feig.

Starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams, Cecily Strong, Neil Casey, Elizabeth Perkins, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

Synopsis:

There have been strange paranormal sightings around New York. The Ghostbusters must find the pattern if they want to save the world.

Ghostbusters was always going to be a haunted film. As if the beloved 1984 original’s spectre wasn’t enough, the production was riddled with rumours of cast members clashing on set, the original movie’s director being locked out of the creative process, and a “disaster” of a script. I eagerly awaited a horror for all the wrong reasons.

The film is funny, just not funny enough. I laughed at least six times. Most of them were at Chris Hemsworth. He plays the Ghostbusters’ idiot receptionist Kevin. »

Yesterday, AMC took to the popular mobile app Snapchat to release the first five minutes of the highly anticipated Preacher pilot episode in advance of the Sunday, May 22 launch. The initial preview on Snapchat marked the first time an extended clip of a network TV show was available on the app. In case you missed the preview yesterday, we have the full five-minute clip for you to watch below, which introduces us to Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), along with a church service in Africa that goes terribly wrong.

The preview opens in outer space, as we see an unknown entity rocketing through the cosmos, before landing in Africa. There we see a charismatic reverend preaching to his congregation, when suddenly his sermon is interrupted by a powerful force, bringing this service to an unexpected end. Preacher Image Gives Us A Great New Look At Cassidy

8 April 2016 6:01 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

AMC has released a promo still for their upcoming small-screen take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s ultra-violent (and seriously messed up in various other ways) comic series, Preacher, and it gives us a new look at Jesse Custer’s Irish vampire pal, Cassidy, which should make fans of the source material very happy indeed.

Aside from a few brief glimpses in the trailers, this is the first time we’ve seen Cassidy wearing his trademark shades, and flashing the equal-parts terrifying and hilarious grin he’s known for.

In addition, the network has announced that we’ll be getting all-new look at the show during the season 2 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead. Whether that’s a full trailer, TV promo or an actual clip remains to be seen, but we’re certainly excited.

Preacher also stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse, Ian Colleti as Eugene “Arseface” Root, W. Earl Brown »

Arseface Is on the Loose in Latest 'Preacher' Trailer

1 April 2016 5:09 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

On Sunday night, Season 6 of AMC's hit series The Walking Dead will come to a close, which will be followed by the spinoff Fear the Walking Dead kicking off its second season on April 10. After the first half of that season wraps, fans will be treated to another genre series with the May 22 debut of Preacher. To get fans ready for the premiere, the network has debuted a new teaser, which will air during The Walking Dead finale, featuring a new look at Arseface, played by Ian Colletti.

This trailer comes just a few days after the first photo of Arseface surfaced. In the comics, Arseface grew up in an abusive household, and he even tried to kill himself, in an attempt to emulate his idol, Kurt Cobain, and to escape from his father, the town's sheriff. It isn't known if this suicide attempt will be featured on the show, »

New Preacher Teaser Gives Us A Glimpse Of Arseface

1 April 2016 4:08 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Following a recent promo image of Ian Colleti as Eugene “Arseface” Root, AMC has released a short, but fairly revealing new teaser trailer for their upcoming adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s controversial ’90s comic series, Preacher. Young Arseface is glimpsed very briefly, but there’s plenty of other great and gruesome stuff in here to discuss.

For example, we see Cassidy the vampire (Joe Gilgun) covered in blood that we can only assume he took from the poor soul behind him in the shot. There’s also a glimpse of Ruth Negga as Tulip being viciously attacked in her car, and various shots of Dominic Cooper as the titular preacher, Jesse Custer, looking somewhat bemused. And who could blame him? As the voiceover reveals, “something got loose,” and evidently made its way to Custer’s quiet little Texas parish.

Preacher also stars W. Earl Brown as Arseface’s father, »

First Look at Arseface in AMC's 'Preacher'

26 March 2016 4:04 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

After a successful debut at SXSW earlier this month, AMC brought its new series Preacher to WonderCon, which is happening in Los Angeles as we speak. During a panel for the show, the network released the first-ever image of actor Ian Colletti as the very unforgettable character Eugene. Known in the comics upon which this is based as Arseface, we'll get to see the kid in action when Preacher debuts Sunday, May 22 at 10pm.

Back in November, fans got their first look at AMC's highly-anticipated Preacher with the first trailer, which was followed by three new photos from earlier this month that featured the main characters Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Preacher is based on the popular, cult comic book franchise of the same name, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows »

Melissa Gilbert Talks Running for Congress in Michigan - with a Little Help from Her Famous Friends

With donations from famous friends like Jennifer Garner, Alec Baldwin and Michael Douglas, Melissa Gilbert's campaign for Congress in Michigan's 8th district is off to a well-financed start. That said, the 51-year-old actress, who rose to fame for playing Laura Ingalls Wilder in the 1970s hit TV series Little House on the Prairie, is facing a tough battle in the swingy, gerrymandered district that encompasses the roughly 100 miles of farmland between the state capital of Lansing and the upscale suburbs of Detroit. The district hasn't sent a Democrat to the U.S. House since the 1990s. The actress, who »
