Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett has been crowned the worst dressed celebrity of 2009 by a leading British newspaper. Blanchett has been panned for a particular attire which has been regarded as “a student blanket turned into a dress”, Daily Mail online reported. Second on the worst dressed list was Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone, for a sheer lace and leather outfit. Pop-queen Madonna managed third position on the list, for head-to-toe Louis Vuitton dress, designed by Marc Jacobs, who the report rated as the most overrated designer of the past ten years. Leopard is one fashion trend that comes and goes very often. Since it’s now wintertime, the latest animal print fad is the faux fur leopard coat. Celebrities like Alexa Chung, Mary Kate Olsen and Kate Moss have all been spotted wearing these coats to brave the cold. A celebrity favorite is the Alice & Olivia ‘Shrunken Faux-Fur Jacket’ ($385). This piece doesn’t seem like something you can wear everyday, and with it being faux fur, your best bet is to find a less expensive alternative. Lucky for you, we found some that will have you sporting the trend »

The red carpet premiere of Nine in New York last night finally brought together virtually all the stars of the film. Fergie and Marion Cotillard contrasted their luscious brunette hair with white dresses in the chilly Winter night. Penelope Cruz matched the carpet in her deep red, though she didn't have her traveling partner and sexy couple companion Javier Bardem as her date. Nicole Kidman was busting out of her black strapless gown and Kate Hudson dazzled in her short in the front, long in the back frock. Amid persisting rumors of a split from Alex Rodriguez, Kate brought her mother Goldie Hawn to the event for their second night together. Kate and her mom posed with Daniel Day-Lewis, but the stars of the movie weren't the only ones out to celebrate the musical. In fact, another woman who used to be very close to A-Rod, Madonna, brought a very »

From the studio comes the teaser trailer for Beastly which stars Alex Pettyfer, Neil Patrick Harris, Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen.
“Beastly” is an edgy teen romance about learning how to see past false surfaces to discover true inner beauty. Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer) has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating “aggressively unattractive” classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate Kendra, inviting her to the school’s extravagant environmental bash. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is – a task he considers impossible.

Allan Hyde and his friend Hadleyk
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear. Yes, we're serious.
Because we all previously enjoyed seeing Allan Hyde (Godric in True Blood) in his wolf T-shirts, above we have a still from a short film he did with his buddy Hadleyk called Smile. Hadleyk seems to film a lot of silliness and post it on his website. While Smile is safe for work, some of the videos he tweets definitely are not. And I'm not paying your therapy bills if you watch them. The abs in the teaser photo belong to Taylor Lautner, the 17-year-old werewolf from Twilight. He's had a weird week. His movie made another $66 million, setting another record. And he was on the cover of Rolling Stone, but the interviewer kept asking him if he was gay. And apparently, »

In an attempt to capitalize on the success of the teen-centric Twilight Saga, a 23 second teaser trailer for Beastly has been released and, even though it is exceptionally short, it is quite possibly one of the worst film promos I have ever seen. It’s the kind of bad where you laugh unintentionally at the voice-over. The teaser actually makes this big budget theatrical release look more like a TV movie or even a TV series.
Adapted from Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same, Beastly is a re-imagining of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast set in modern day New York (which by the way has previously been done in the Beauty and the Beast TV series starring Ron Perlman). Written and directed by Daniel Barnz, Beastly stars Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker) in the lead role (who apparently only needs to shave his head, sport some odd tattoos, and »

So glazed over were we by New Moon’s midnight screenings on Friday that we completely missed the first teaser for Beastly, the teen reboot of Beauty and the Beast starring Alex Pettyfer and High School Musical’s uber-tween queen Vanessa Hudgens, but any Twihards needing need a new fix of man monsters can get an extra “Squeeeee!” by watching it below. And indeed, from the teaser at least it looks like Alex Pettyfer’s going to be jostling for pole position on the man/monster podium with the Twilight crowd. He plays an egotistical high school kid who’s hit by a curse by Mary-Kate Olsen's witch, but the emphasis on his transformation is on monster rather than fit and a bit naughty.Seed of Chucky’s Tony Gardner is on effects duty and, while we get the obligatory soulful looks into Pettyfer’s eyes, good hair etc, »

No doubt hoping for the kind of blind faith that Twilight fans show at the box office, CBS Films has provided the trailer for its new Beauty and the Beast redux of sorts, Beastly.

The impending existence of the film Beastly, a modern and teen-centric version of Beauty and the Beast, had escaped me until now. But with the power of the teen dollar once again having been reasserted over the weekend, it's time to get the promotions cranking for films that might siphon off a bit of that cashflow. And so here's a brief teaser for Beastly. Be afraid. Be very afraid. The teaser is available at the film's official site. It doesn't give much away, but this take on the story, based on the novel by Alex Finn, follows a young man (Alex Pettyfer), rich, entitled and egocentric. He's cursed by Kendra, a gothy girl at his prep school (Mary-Kate Olsen, appropriately), to transform into some sort of beast. But Vanessa Hudgens sees the real soul inside. Neil Patrick Harris and Peter Krause are onboard as well. Daniel Barnz writes and directs. »
