Ed Norton Close To Helena Since Salma Split

5 September 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Movie hunk Edward Norton is recovering from his split with gorgeous actress Salma Hayek - by cozying up to former supermodel Helena Christensen. The 25th Hour actor was attending the awards ceremony for Britain's Q magazine in London on Tuesday night, and spent the whole night by sexy Helena's side. But as Helena is in a long-term relationship with actor Norman Reedus - with whom she has a three-year-old son - Ed had to make do with winning the International Man Of The Year gong. However, the actor's attention was diverted when his musical heroes The Clash won the Outstanding Achievement award. Ed says, "They are my heroes, their music was a ray of light across the Atlantic when I was a kid." »

Norton Urges Love To Seek Help

28 August 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actor Edward Norton is begging his former flame Courtney Love to enter rehab - following months of raucous behavior from the gravel-voiced singer/actress. According to New York gossip site Page Six, the 25th Hour star was reportedly furious when Love claimed Norton would "never marry" sexy Mexican actress Salma Hayek because "he can barely understand what she's saying". Although Love apologized to the now separated couple in June, Norton is still alarmed by Love's frequently erratic behavior. Recent reports claim the widow of Kurt Cobain flew into a rage as she was being fitted with $18,000 hair extensions for Thursday night's MTV Video Music Awards in New York. Love has since backed out of her gig at the glitzy ceremony, but her spokesman insists her decision was not based on the hair incident. He says, "She got a nail stuck in her left foot at a photo shoot for her album, America's Sweetheart. It's infected, so she won't be presenting." Just last week, Love told detectives that Virgin Records Senior Vice President Josh Deutsch slapped her in the face - and then denied the alleged assault ever happened the very next day, saying the cops had misunderstood her. And in February, Love was arrested and held for 12 hours on suspicion of verbally assaulting a Virgin Airlines flight attendant who refused to let her bring her psychiatric nurse into first class. »

18 August 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Mark Wahlberg's action flick The Italian Job is poised for an expanded run at American cinemas - three months after its release. The movie, which also stars Charlize Theron, Jason Statham and Edward Norton, has earned an impressive $96 million since its May 30 debut, but bosses hope to haul in more cash by increasing its dwindling theater count to between 1,500 and 2,500 venues over the Labor Day weekend. The Mini Cooper caper flick is currently shown in just 217 cinemas across America, after the release of a long list of summer sequels pushed the movie aside. Studio bosses hope their latest efforts will push the film over the $100 million mark. »

23 July 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Edward Norton and Salma Hayek's suspected break-up has been confirmed - by a child actor. Earlier this month, reports emerged that the Hollywood couple had gone their separate ways after three years of romance. And while no word of confirmation or denial has come from Hayek, 36, or Norton, 33, 11-year-old Daryl Sabara spilled the beans on Monday while promoting his new movie Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, in which the Frida beauty co-stars. While bragging about how "buff" he was from weightlifting to American TV host Matt Lauer on the Today show, he declared, "I was showing off (to Hayek), you know? She isn't with Ed Norton anymore." Lauer swiftly interrupted, "You're going to get yourself in trouble," before changing the subject. Hayek's publicist has yet to comment. »

Norton Gets Friendly with Dancer

25 June 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Salma Hayek had better keep an eye on her man - hunky Edward Norton's been spotted making friends with a saucy lap dancer. Fight Club star Norton has been dating the Latina Frida actress for three years, but that didn't stop him from chatting to a stunning exotic dancer on a recent night out. Ed and a group of friends spent a boozy night at Los Angeles club Four Deuces earlier this month, and it's there that he met gorgeous model Tracey Banks. One insider tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "Tracey's a stunning girl with a cracking figure and all the lads were impressed by her. But it was Ed who really went in for the kill. He couldn't stop staring at her and was paying her loads of compliments. At one point he even told Tracey, 'I want you to come for a ride in my new electric car.' They're all the rage in LA, but although she was flattered, she wasn't very excited." »

Anti-War Stars on New Card Deck

6 June 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Sean Penn, Barbra Streisand, Martin Sheen, Susan Sarandon and George Clooney are starring together in a new project - a deck of cards featuring war-opposing celebrities. The stars join the likes of Edward Norton, Tim Robbins and Oliver Stone on The Weasels cards, which depict 54 celebrities and politicians wearing Iraqi Republican Guard berets, accompanied by an anti-war quote. Marine Major Doug Cody and Captain Marcus Bradshaw came up with the idea for their deck - similar to the Deck Of Death featuring those at war with America - while watching the conflict unfold from Washington DC's Pentagon. Cody says, "I don't begrudge anyone their right to express their opposition to the war... but the people on the cards went above and beyond what I thought was reasoned or principled opposition." Cody, who's selling the cards through Thanxfornothing.Com, with some of the proceeds going to military charities, adds, "It's an involuntary way for the celebrities to give something back." »

Spike Lee Sues Over Namesake Channel

5 June 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Hollywood auteur Spike Lee is suing an American media company over plans to name a cable channel Spike TV. The Malcolm X movie maker claims viewers would associate the channel with him, and has asked for an injunction against media giant Viacom's use of his name. He also claims one executive at the company - who want to rename their Tnn channel - told him the name was reference to him. In court papers filed on Tuesday Lee says, "The media description of this change of name, as well as comments made to me and my wife, confirmed what was obvious - that Spike TV referred to Spike Lee." Spike has called on Hollywood pals Edward Norton and Ossie Davis and former senator Bill Bradley to sign affidavits to say they had thought of Lee when they heard about Spike TV, and believed he had become affiliated with the network. Viacom claim the move is intended to attract more male viewers. They say they are confident the court will reject Lee's legal claim to "the popular word and name Spike." Viacom, which also owns broadcasters such as CBS, MTV, and VH1, has been directed by the judge to explain why it should not be barred from using the name. »

Wahlberg Declares 'The Italian Job' His Best Ever Movie

20 May 2003 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Hollywood hunk Mark Wahlberg has declared his upcoming movie The Italian Job the best film he's ever made. Wahlberg says the high-speed heist flick, which also stars Charlize Theron and Edward Norton, far outstrips any of his other flicks, including Planet Of The Apes and Rock Star. He explains, "It just works on every level. First of all, it's surrounded by the best young actors in the business and they all brought their own personalities to the roles. We made a character-driven piece with well-rounded characters. There's no computer-generated effects in this movie. It's kind of back to the basics, but it works as a whole. It has the best stunt sequences and action sequences I've ever seen." »
