Sausage Party 2 Already Planned Says Seth Rogen

22 July 2016 5:31 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

In just a few weeks, Sony Pictures' R-rated Sausage Party will hit theaters, but writer/producer/voice actor Seth Rogen brought this outrageous comedy to Comic-Con last night for an early screening, and to release a new red band trailer. Before the screening, Seth Rogen introduced the film to the audience, where he teased that a sequel is already in the works. Of course, nothing has been confirmed by the studio quite yet, but it seems that Seth Rogen and his collaborators are already working on ideas for Sausage Party 2.

The closest Seth Rogen has ever come to making a traditional sequel was in his 2013 comedy This Is the End. In that movie, the actor played himself and, with the help of James Franco and the rest of their friends, they made a sequel to their 2008 stoner comedy Pineapple Express, while they were trapped inside after the rapture hit Los Angeles. »

Seth Rogen really cares what you will think of his latest film, Sausage Party.

The R-Rated animated food adventure just got a brand new red band trailer, but we also caught up with Rogen and his crew at San Diego Comic-Con, where we got some inside scoop about the film. Ten years in the making, this was Rogen's chance to put his mark on the animated genre, after being inspired by Disney and Pixar for his whole life.

Here are five things we learned from Seth Rogen and the makers of Sausage Party at Comic-Con!

1. The idea originated at a dinner party

‘Sausage Party’: Seth Rogen’s ‘R-Rated Pixar Movie’ Devours Comic-Con

22 July 2016 11:03 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

San Diego — “I think the MPAA didn’t know how to handle food,” Seth Rogen said of his raunchy animated comedy “Sausage Party,” releasing Aug. 12, at a post-sausage Q&A session Thursday night. “They crossed into this unprecedented area of, ‘Is [the sausage] a d—? If it’s a pita bread’s ball sack, is it a ball sack?'”

That conundrum for the industry’s trade association is as good a way as any into discussing the film, which dabbles in religious and socio-political overtones while also featuring an actual douche bag sexually assault a juice box. There is nothing like “Sausage Party,” which first screened as a work in progress at the South by Southwest film festival in March. It is 100 percent its own thing.

The film, co-written by Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill and directed by Greg Tiernan (“Thomas and Friends”) and Conrad Vernon (“Shrek 2”), was born out »

Interview: Actor Paul Dooley of ‘Breaking Away,’ ‘Sixteen Candles’

21 July 2016 10:25 AM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – If there ever was a quintessential “Dad” in movies of the last generation, it would have to be Paul Dooley. The comedian and character actor is best known for portraying the patriarch in “Breaking Away” (1979) and “Sixteen Candles” (1984), but was also in director’s Robert Altman’s ‘ensemble’ and has had a stellar career.

The former “Paul Brown” was born in West Virginia, and studied acting at West Virginia University, before heading to New York City and a new career as Paul Dooley. He did stage work, stand-up comedy and the New York City version of The Second City (story below), before getting his big break in the original stage version of “The Odd Couple” in 1965, directed by the legendary Mike Nichols. While working the stage, he appeared in a number of commercials, eventually moving to Los Angeles to “be where the action is.”

How Alien: Resurrection led to the Ice Age movies

12 July 2016 5:54 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Louisa Mellor Jul 13, 2016

Blue Sky Studios’ CGI work on Alien: Resurrection began a long and fruitful relationship with 20th Century Fox…

When Blue Sky Studios was tasked with creating swimming CGI Xenomorphs for the fourth film in the Alien franchise, its animators looked to inspiration from the natural world. Aptly for Hr Giger’s demonic creations, said inspiration was found in a Galapagos Island creature nicknamed by Charles Darwin the “imp of darkness”.

“We patterned [the Xenomorphs’] movements on reference footage of sea iguanas” Blue Sky’s Digital Effects Supervisor for Alien: Resurrection Mitch Kopelman told American Cinematographer magazine in November 1997. “They have this crazy little swim where they tuck their legs under their bodies and use this really long tail to propel themselves.” After much work, the end result was the CGI swimming aliens that pursued Ellen Ripley and co. through the flooded kitchens of the Usm Auriga in the 1997 sequel. »

Humans Are The True Enemy In Extended Sausage Party TV Spot

11 July 2016 11:10 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

If This is the End and Neighbors showcased the wild side of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Sausage Party will soon invite moviegoers into a dark, twisted alternate reality where human beings are the one true enemy.

Set to arrive in little over a month’s time, a new and extended TV spot has surfaced online, showcasing the terror that awaits beyond the doors of the supermarket. For in Sausage Party, anthropomorphic nibbles dream of leaping off the shelves and into shopping carts, oblivious to the fact that they all face imminent death.

Bizarre, yet oddly endearing, our own Matt Donato caught a work-in-progress version of Sausage Party, heaping praise on the movie’s irreverent tone and barrage of food-related puns.

Among the cast enlisted to bring Rogen and Goldberg’s oddball comedy to life are Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera, James Franco, Paul Rudd, »

Sausage Party Extended TV Spot Declares War on All Humans

11 July 2016 10:55 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Is Sausage Party the Saving Private Ryan of CG animated comedies? The latest extended sneak peek surely supports that idea. After an innocent hot dog is sliced right down the middle, his food friends all decided to take a stand. In the process, they call an all-out war on the human race. But let's face it. These guys are all pretty far down the food chain, and when the BBQ smoke clears, the jams and jellies have beed mopped up, and all the guac has been sponged off the floor, we can't imagine these edibles will reign victorious.

Sausage Party is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. This latest sneak peek brings new footage, and all of it is downright terrifying. While the R-rated »
