The Last Man on Earth Season 3 Episode 1 Review: General Breast Theme With Cobras

26 September 2016 2:52 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Welcome back!

The Last Man on Earth Season 3 Episode 1 picks up exactly where we left off. Pat Brown and two people in hazmat suits are headed toward our favorite survivors with guns.

Naturally, everyone freaks out and grabs a weapon. Melissa grabs a gun, Gail grabs a wine bottle and Tandy frantically shouts to shoot them in the throats and balls!

How hilarious was it that the group couldn't flee because Todd blocked all the cars in with the A Team van and couldn't find the Mr. T keys? Of course this classic vehicle would appear after Tandy drove the DeLorean last season.

I wasn't surprised at all when Melissa shot one of them on sight. She's becoming pretty handy with a gun and the group is concerned.

Carol Pilbasian: Have you learned your lesson about not using firearms?

Melissa Scharte: Yes, yes.

Carol Pilbasian: Firearms are not the answer. »

When 19-year-old Eddie Murphy burst onto “Saturday Night Live” back in 1980, he quickly became renowned for his amazing impressions, hilariously impersonating the likes of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Bill Cosby and Mr. T. The intervening years have clearly not diminished Murphy’s gift for mimicry, as he demonstrated during Friday night’s appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, […] »

21 August 2016 7:00 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Returning for the second half of its second season Sunday, Fear the Walking Dead followed Nick down the long and perilous road to Tijuana. Yes, go ahead, you can say it. “How long and perilous was it?” It was so long — 100 miles — and so perilous — Madison’s son was attacked by everything from sharpshooters to cacti — that, at times, it didn’t look like he was going to make it. Did he? If you don’t already know, read on and find out.

Curt Hawkins is back, and the WWE teased the Superstar’s return last night via “SmackDown.” There was no actual appearance by the former Brian Major, but the now-live USA Network series ran a bumper promo with a few Chuck Norris/Mr. T-esque “facts, like: Curt Hawkins has counted to infinity … twice. Curt Hawkins can slam a revolving door. Curt Hawkins doesn’t flush the toilet … he scares the crap out of it. 'Key & Peele': Keegan-Michael Key Reveals Stories Behind 8 Iconic Sketches

4 August 2016 11:30 AM, PDT | Rollingstone.com | See recent Rolling Stone news »

From the very first sketch — in which two African-American men on their phones began to conversationally code-switch when they get in proximity to each other — you could tell Key & Peele was not your typical sketch show. Maybe you recognized Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele from their Mad TV days, or knew the latter from his Children's Hospital appearances; maybe you simply thought, it's a new Comedy Central series, let's check it out. But by the time the show concluded its five-season run of ridiculous college-football player names, Presidential anger-translations, weepy gangsters, »

How ‘Mike Tyson Mysteries’ Season 2 Pushed Wacky Retro Designs Even Further (Emmy Watch)

14 June 2016 12:27 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

If animated TV series “Mike Tyson Mysteries” is “Scooby-Doo” on acid, then the second season was even wackier, with an abundance of fun celebrities and bizarre creatures to design.

This season, character designer Dusty Abell’s task of trying to “simplify real people that we are all familiar with” was combined with a “wider variety of characters. It’s a surprising balance of crass and smart in dealing with pop culture and political satire.”

Abell already had his hands full with the Mystery team: the eponymous Mike Tyson, profane and oblivious (voiced by the former boxer); the alcoholic and obnoxious Pigeon (Norm Macdonald); Tyson’s 18-year-old adopted daughter, Yung Hee Tyson (Rachel Ramras), who resembles “Scooby-Doo’s” Velma; and the haughty ghost of Marquess of Queensberry, the father of modern boxing (Jim Rash).

For Tyson, Abell took inspiration from the Muhammad Ali and Mr. T cartoons of the ’70s and ’80s, and was pleasantly surprised by Tyson’s voice acting ability. Of course, Tyson’s boxing prowess came in handy when interacting with his intellectual sidekick, John Douglas, 9th Marquess of Queensberry.

“He was telling me all about the rules of the old sport and how it evolved over time,” said Abell. “And he was very knowledgeable about the real man and what he brought to the fight game. And Jim Rash had once written a blog about programming 24 hours of Saturday morning cartoons. His take on ’70s and ’80s conventions was fascinating.”

For the episode “Ogopogo!,” which tells Pigeon’s backstory of being human and having a spell put on him by his ex-wife, the eponymous sea monster proved a fun design challenge. “The show called for a haunted lake and a river monster,” Abell said. “And I had no idea they were drawing from legend and lore, so I watched a whole documentary about the Ogopogo monster. It’s the Lake Michigan version of the Loch Ness monster.”

The episode in which Snoop Dogg starts a rival Mystery team (“Unsolved Situations”) provided a different challenge for Abell: “His hair was originally done in little pixie twirls, but the Dogg team had one request: that he look as he does now with tight braids.”

Why Mr. T Agreed To Do That Strange And Funny Cameo In Not Another Teen Movie

19 May 2016 11:33 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

The spoof film Not Another Teen Movie is one of those films that occupies a strange middle ground between popularity and obscurity.  And one of the most memorable moments in that film was a cameo by Mr. T. himself, which as it turns out, the legendary 80's icon agreed to do for one reason alone: the almighty T was doing it for the kids. During his rather insightful talk with Uproxx, Mr. T spilled about various moments and projects he'd experienced through his life. One of the more surprising moments that ended up being discussed was that cameo in 2001's Not Another Teen Movie, in which Mr. T explained just what drove him to play a part in the cult hit. As shown in the quote below, the man who kicked a quarter of the ass kicked in the 80's had his legacy in mind when he imparted wisdom to »

Mr. T's Opinion On The A-Team Movie Is, Of Course, Incredible

18 May 2016 10:43 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Mr. T, after all of this time, still pities the fools; and there's no case that he pities them greater than that of the 2010 film adaptation of The A-Team. In fact, Mr. T recently chalked up the film's lack of success to one, key factor that was missing from the film's arsenal: the power of the T himself. During a conversation with Uproxx, the 80's icon who originated the role of B.A. Baracus had some choice remarks to make about Joe Carnahan's allegedly tepid take on the classic television show. Most importantly, Mr. T's rant about the recasting of his memorable role is an incredible, and totally believable, theory as to why the project failed to catch. His hypothesis is as follows:  The A-Team movie, people would even tell you: boy did we make a mistake trying to get somebody to replace Mr. T. There.s nothing »

See Jeff Daniels Revive 'Newsroom' Anchor to Talk Trump, Hillary

Jeff Daniels, with help from Bloomberg's Matt Negrin and Griffin Hammond, revived his portrayal of The Newsroom anchor Will McAvoy to unleash his thoughts about the upcoming presidential election between presumptive nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

"I think for the first time in election history, her opponent might donate to her campaign," McAvoy joked about the mogul's past Clinton campaign contributions before launching into a Newsroom-inspired diatribe. "Yeah, Donald Trump is a fact-bending loose cannon who alienates mainstream voters with everything he says, but he gets constant media attention for free. »

Jon Stewart Hopes to Have HBO Project Ready By September

10 May 2016 11:36 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Jon Stewart has been absent from television during this election cycle, but Monday at the University of Chicago, the former “Daily Show” host weighed in on the political landscape with his trademark mix of intellectualism, humor and disbelief at the state of the universe.

Speaking to former Obama right-hand David Axelrod during live-taping of the podcast “The Axe-Files,” Stewart insisted he did not miss being on television.

“I’m not restless,” Stewart said. “When you are in that soup it is very hard not to begin to think that the world functions on that currency.” He hopes to release his new project, a series of videos for HBO, in September, but isn’t making any promises.

“I’m not going to be on television,” Stewart said. “We are working on technology and animation to do interesting little small bits. I’d love to have it ready by September but not necessarily for the election. »

Mr T: The Man With The Gold - what we learned

Mr T's 1985 autobiography, The Man With The Gold, is jam-packed with tree-felling, door-smashing, people-throwing anecdotes...

“I live by the Golden Rule – the man with the gold rules.”

Mr. T. My lifelong hero. A man who has and thrown more “suckers” around than an octopus in a washing machine, and taught aviophobes everywhere that “I aint gettin’ on no plane” is a phrase that can be dished out with attitude.

But what do we actually know about this 80s legend besides the gold chains, Mohawk and fool-based catchphrases?

I suppose we could just trawl through the big man’s Wikipedia profile. It’s surprisingly extensive. But when we’re talking about a lyrical genius responsible for phrases like “I was on him like ugly on an ape” and “the entire place got quiet, so quiet you could hear a mosquito urinate on cotton”, it’s best to go straight to the source. »
