Ten Ways To Survive An Alien Invasion

23 May 2012 6:48 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Barely a year goes by that our cinema screens aren’t attacked by some cheeky alien menace. And this year is no exception, as the long-awaited Men In Black 3 is set to hit the multiplexes later this week. This time around, Agent J (Will Smith) travels back to the 1960s to tackle a particularly nasty alien thingy.

As we await the movie, now is a good time to reflect on some of the past alien attacks on this planet we call Earth. And in preparation for the latest extra-terrestrial assault, we could take a few pointers on just how to survive the next alien invasion…

Adam Lambert performs in New Jersey.

Birthday shoutouts go to Senator Al Franken, who is 61, Gotye is 32, and Mr. T is 60, and his wish is that you treat your mother right. The big news today is the sentencing of Dharun Ravi, who was given 30 days in jail and 300 hours of community service for spying on Tyler Clementi. He had faced up to 10 years.

Below you can see the some of the jurors explain their verdict.

A lot of gay activists had asked for leniency ... but not to this extent.

Happy Birthday, Mr. T!

21 May 2012 1:35 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

With an unforgettable look and a decades-spanning catchphrase, we have to tip our hats to actor, wrestler and all-around good guy Mr. T, who is celebrating his 60th birthday today.

When you're the youngest boy of a family with 12 children, you have to find a way to stand out. And Laurence Tero Tureaud did just that. After getting expelled after his freshman year at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, where he had won a football scholarship, Mr. T tried to channel his charisma and athleticism into other avenues. He worked as a military policeman briefly before trying out for the Green Bay Packers, but a "debilitating knee injury" kept Mr. T from wowing Cheeseheads on the field, according to Biography.com.

Mr. T returned to his native Chicago and found work as a bouncer at a hot nightclub in the 70s. His tough guy persona and signature look »

Mr. T Goes Green In New Comic Book Crusade

17 May 2012 6:41 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former The A-team star Mr. T has become an online cartoon character thanks to a new range of paperless graphic novels.

The mohawked action man has launched his latest comic book venture via Eco Comics, a company which releases its issues via the Internet.

Mr. T previously appeared in print in Mohawk Media's graphic novels, but editor Stuart Buckley tells WENN, "It was always our intention to release the Mr. T graphic novel as a comic book series. Each chapter was intentionally structured to be the same length as a comic book.

"However, we've had to adjust to market demands. The graphic novel has sold out. The digital titles of Eco Comics have no print run, and so will never sell out, meaning every T fan can order a copy. The added satisfaction is that the environment hasn't suffered as a result of paper production."

Mr. T adds, "This is great, and I am truly humbled."

The first five issues of Mr. T are available to order now in various digital formats via the Eco Comics online store. »

Weekend Meme: Diane Sawyer Honors Ellen DeGeneres' 15 Year Journey, Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" Leaves Mixed Feelings, and Tony the Tiger Says "They're Great!" To "The Daily Show"

Cougar Town has been suffering in the ratings, and I admit to deleting most of the season from the DVR without watching it. But could the troubled sitcom find new life on TBS? That's the latest rumor, which gets really messy since several stars have booked alternative gigs for next season.

Bryan Fischer, the hate monger who spent a week demanding that Mitt Romney fire his gay spokesman Richard Grennell, is now saying Romney shouldn't have done it, because it shows he's too spineless to be president. I'm not disputing that, but it sure is funny to watch the infighting.

The pope is demanding that U.S. bishops toe the line on church teachings about marriage equality, contraception, and euthanasia.

Speaking of the Catholics, Catholic League's Bill Donahue is still mad at The Daily Show for a certain image they flashed, and is still going after their sponsors. But Tony »

Is Rocky III the blueprint for The Dark Knight Rises?

4 May 2012 3:32 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Gary Collinson presents an outlandish theory on The Dark Knight Rises...

As I'm sure you're already aware, a new trailer arrived online for The Dark Knight Rises this week and after months and months of speculation, we're now starting to get some kind of idea about the story for the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Batman saga. As the pieces begin to fall into place, what's becoming increasingly clear is that while Nolan may have found inspiration from the likes of Knightfall and No Man's Land, he's also decided to follow the blueprint laid down by the third entry of another popular movie franchise - the Rocky series.

Firstly, let's take a look at the parallels between our two heroes - Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and Batman (Christian Bale). They're both champions (Rocky 'of the World' and Batman 'of the People'), they've both got voices that are difficult to »

Lego Movie coming February 2014

24 April 2012 10:30 AM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Phil Lord and Chris Miller began their film career in 2009 with the animated children's book adapation, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The film, featuring the voices of Bill HaderAnna Faris, Bruce Campbell, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Mr. T and Neil Patrick Harris, was a huge hit with $243 million at the box office. This year, they made their live-action directorial debut with 21 Jump Street, based on the television show, and it starred Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. Unlike Cloudy, it was more for teens and adults. The film was also a hit with $166 million. Now, Lord and Miller are returning to children's entertainment with none other than Lego.

Tyler Shields Is Hungry For Stardom

17 April 2012 7:33 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

The Hunger Games has been doing quite well for itself at the box office, so our interest was piqued when we found out that celebrity photographer Tyler Shields took some images of three of its stars last year: Kalia Prescott, Leven Rambin, and Josh Hutcherson. On April 21, Hutcherson will be the youngest person ever to receive the 2012 GLAAD Vanguard Award in Los Angeles for his work as a Glbt ally. We're glad that the 19-year-old -- who plays Peeta Mellark in "The Hunger Games" -- is putting his fame toward a good cause, though you can see from the pictures below that he also likes to play the hard-boiled tough guy role, too.

Shields new exhibition,"Mouthful," opens on May 20th at Ace Gallery in Los Angeles. We asked the photographer some questions about his work, and his answers are below. Scroll down for images from his latest exhibition.

New Girl Star Lamorne Morris Shares Brilliant (Terrible) Condom Fashion Idea

Music Videos - Free Music Videos

On New Girl, Lamorne Morris’ Winston is a pretty smooth guy, current status as a “manny” notwithstanding. Which is why we were surprised to learn that in real life, the actor has zero sense of style and a rather weird sense of what’s sexy, at least according to him. He showed up on the red carpet of the NewNowNext Awards looking laid-back and handsome in a lavender shirt, light-gray blazer with white piping and black jeans, but took no credit for his outfit when he spoke to our own Kate Spencer.

“I cannot dress myself,” he admitted. “If it were up to me, I would be wearing a diaper and a tank top. Maybe a Mr. T gold chain. Maybe some brass knuckles. Maybe a tattoo on my face. I don’t know. I am the worst dresser in the world. Maybe a diamond-studded condom. »

Wanderlust – The Review

23 February 2012 11:15 PM, PST | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Sometimes film makers can unknowingly tap into a certain public movement or trend when making a piece of entertainment. This can be even more surprizing considering the long gestation period of movies ( usually scripts can collect dust on a desk or shelf before the cameras roll ). The trend I’m referring to with this flick is the recent occupy movement that took root in many cities across the country this past Fall and Summer ( the expanded trailer for this coming Summer’s The Dark Knight Rises seem to be picking up on those protests, too ). Well, before Batman leaps into the economic battlefield, here comes the new comedy from David Wain ( Wet, Hot American Summer and Role Models ) called Wanderlust. In this, a young married couple decide to stop their quest for the ” almighty dollar ” and return to a simpler time of communes ( when hippies walked the Earth! ). Of course »

Massey ...Kristofferson. A pairing for the ages. Or one episode.

E.J. and Misty Circle are celebrating their Mayoral win by Glitterbombing each other. They should switch to pies in the face.

E.J. brings her into the living room to find a gala feast set up with cheap candles and the creepy illuminated portrait of Stefano keeping vigil. Marlena insists that if Sami really wants to deal with what's happened, she has to tell Rafe that she slept with E.J.. Sami is distraught, but frankly, I'm more concerned that Sami's Mr. T amount of jewelry is going to get caught in her cleavage crack.

Jerry Lawler Wants Andy Kaufman in WWE Hall of Fame Celebrity Wing

15 January 2012 1:51 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler has told the Miami Herald that he has pushed for the late Andy Kaufman to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Celebrity Wing. Lawler said;

“I’ve pushed for him to be there… The match I had with him, and that whole scenario I think opened the door and changed the face of wrestling to what it is today. There was the Hollywood involvement, the showbiz aspect, but especially the Hollywood involvement. When Andy came along and he and I had those matches, all of a sudden we were on national television on David Letterman, Saturday Night Live and these sorts of things. Our industry got the big Hollywood rub from Andy Kaufman.“Then Mr. McMahon just took that ball and ran with it. Robert Greene, “Fake It So Real”

13 January 2012 11:12 AM, PST | Filmmaker Magazine - Blog | See recent Filmmaker Magazine news »

Big-time professional wrestling has long been a lucrative business, but for the men of Lincolnton, North Carolina’s Millenium Wrestling Federation, the social cohesion and outlet for their imagination the sport provides is their primary compensation. As chronicled in director Robert Greene’s fantastic new documentary Fake It So Real, wrestling has never seemed as intense and physically costly. Yet Greene is not interested in mining the sport for tales of snake-bitten men reaching for a glory that will never come; this isn’t a doc version of The Wrestler. Woebegone men are few and far between in this world, despite the fact that Lincolnton seemingly doesn’t provide much in terms of career prospects. A sense of community and mutually-appreciated craft pervades the scene.

Fake It So Real is Greene’s second festival hit in as many years. His debut film Kati with an I was nominated for the »
